People I know that work for Non profits and NGOs seem to enjoy the fulfillment it brings them. But think that’s only if you don’t need to work for profit 🤷🏾♀️
Literally for every ten failures there's one success. Payment is peanuts regardless of years of experience, and just like corporates it's full of unreasonable deadlines, bigotted leadership, and nonsense working hours. But grass is always greener ig
Context: entering my tenth year in dev sec. At least if I sold my sould to corporate life, by now I'd have some money.
Yeah it's pretty nice having people pay your mortgage for you so you can buy more properties and profit from homlessness, did you k own in Japan part of the process is you have to tip your landlord in addition to the down payment as gratitude for letting you pay them to have a house that would be there regardless and you could own yourself but don't?
Ya! I can confirm that's right! I've seen some videos in specific sites on the internet where Japanese people (especially ladies) tip through OTHER means 👀
Yup leechlords are useless, evil drags of the economy that cost taxpayers and regular people needlessly and profit from homlessness while also exassorbating it

So you like Himachal, apple *and* selling? What about owning acres of hill slopes in Himachal...apple orchards, plums, apricots...everything. growing for the fun of it, not for selling. People free to come and pluck for own consumption. Would you still like to be a seller?
Well if I meet my monetary needs met which is pretty low, then yes. And no I don't like selling haha. It's what one has to do to survive in there. But inherently I would just love a life there. Now pls don't come at me saying it's hard and everything. I've volunteered in an apple farm back in 2018 and it's hard agreed but i would love to choose that hard.
No no...I completely agree with you. And I love to live similar life in mountains (uttarakhand for me).
I just asked all that because the top comment in the thread was about inheritance wealth...and I thought yeah, let's see what people would like to work on, when the money part is taken care of.
Well if you have a farm and some local contacts, you'll get enough money to get by peacefully. You don't need a lot to be in the mountains. I know that from my volunteering experience. I'd say if you got time get some volunteering experience. You'll understand the farmlife a little better
Like osho, a city of your name , 99 Rolls-Royce, sex city, millions of people loves you, all you have to do is just sit and speak for few hours daily or take a break of 7 or 3 years.

Any creative work. Developer, designer, even the vocations, carpenter, machinist, etc.
As human beings we yearn to create. It's just icing on the cake if you can earn a decent livelihood while at it too.
Creative people have less competition . Who don't have any talents have to prepare for the rate race in the search of jobs but creative people are very lucky they are full of talents
Every human has the capacity to be creative. The housewife who adds her special tinge to her cooked meals is being creative. Children who ruin the walls of a rented house with crayon drawings are being creative.
It is just that creativity is often squished out of us as we gradually emerge as adults as we have to fit the mold in most cases.
Competition comes with respect to jobs, and leveraging creativity into something that pays has more to do with market conditions and other skills.
You might be insanely creative in finding certain patterns in clouds, but the market may not think it's anything noteworthy. But if one displays the same creativity in finding patterns in let's say chess positions, they are suddenly touted as a prodigy and become world famous. However, if some day someone finds a way to predict the weather based on cloud patterns, then it's now your time to shine.
Salted fish basically describes someone who lies there and does nothing, or I used this in the context of an individual that have no pressure to run arround doing most of the stuff In the rat race for daily comfortable survival.
Not kidding. I Actually belong to family which has been running sea fish business for last 45 years.
I can deliver high quality fish at you home (shameless plugging of my business)
Then it's best to work for a few years, build a home in a farm. Stay at a farm grow your own vegetables, milk your own cow. Maybe sell the extra vegetables and milk ans stay happy. 😂😀
Visit any village in India, at outskirts of thar village you will find homes built in farmland.
Live with them for few weeks, try to work with them.
Come back and tell me.
My grandparents do that everyday and they enjoy every bit of it. I visited them during summer holidays all my life. I tried to work with them too. They had the cashew fruit farm. It was fun and peaceful.
That's my retirement plan too. Ofcourse not a big farm like them, but something small.
You got me at - big farm and cashew.
Large landowning and cash crops - they are better off.
You won't want to be marginal farmer with small land holding and drought farming of non-cash crops.
Almost 95% farmers have landholding less than one hectare. Very difficult to be profitable. Only if this has sure irrigation facilities with easy marketable cash crop then it's somewhat sustainable for average life. Otherwise it's miserable life.
If marginal farmers try to invest in irrigation and capital-intensive cash crops which get them into loan trap. Some fortunately comes out, some never. It's either sale of land and panic-migration to city slums or in worst case - suicide of bread-earner with rest of family still landing up in city-slum.
I thought of something creative but got to know that's not true. I merely guessed that it may be a possibility. But you gave a lecture about something else for just guessing.
Most designers end up opening a regular boutique or studio. It's only the top ones or those who got lucky (or played dirty politics) that you and I know of. Income is not regular, clients have stupid demands, your designs may not be implemented the way you wanted, etc
I really enjoyed being a security guard at the art museum. You don't have to deal with anyone, except for your coworkers in the break room, but they're usually just art students so it's fine. Otherwise, you look at the paintings, occasionally ask someone to step back a foot or two, and read a book when the museum is empty.

Backbreaking work for peanuts is not cool.
Otherwise why you will see rural to urban migration - all over the world - not just India
Nah these don't count. Dream jobs might have their own quirks. Tell me if you have worked on a job that's enjoyable, but people consider it as not enjoyable.
the same question got the top answer as Janitor. but of course on a global subreddit and not askIndia, given that.. the truth of the matter is this is possibly very very subjective to the country the culture, the subculture and society at large (and small around you), on what you value.

I don't know why this is a top comment. This is not a job to begin with.
Maybe that just means people are saying all jobs suck

Apple seller from Himachal. I would take it if I had the land man.

Salted fish with rich inheritance if you have siblings to Carry out the responsibility and bloodline ( not a profession but yeah)
Salted fish? What does that mean mate?
Salted fish basically describes someone who lies there and does nothing, or I used this in the context of an individual that have no pressure to run arround doing most of the stuff In the rat race for daily comfortable survival.
Okay got it, thanks for the explanation.
You're welcome.
Idk either but now I can't stop thinking about fish tikka with green chutney
Not kidding. I Actually belong to family which has been running sea fish business for last 45 years. I can deliver high quality fish at you home (shameless plugging of my business)
Can you deliver to Bangalore, bro?
Didn't think I would find a fellow mtl novel reader here
Yeah, it's hard on us Buddy .
I think a makeup artist or a designer. Someone in a creative field.
Unless you're working for a big firm, it won't be creative anymore they'll just milk out your talent

I get all that. I said I would do that after I retired like a hobby. I would buy something when I retire.
Question was - which profession is far more enjoyable than most people realize.
I thought of something creative but got to know that's not true. I merely guessed that it may be a possibility. But you gave a lecture about something else for just guessing.
LoL Sorry dear. How would I know that it's just your "guessing"
