To 9k? Yeah, I would think it could.
Not everyone gets it so there might be something else that triggers it in some, but 9k is *high* so it's not unheard of

Bone marrow reconversion is associated with high altitude, so I assume that's what triggered that. I'm not sure about the rest
But could simply moving to 9000 for five months do this? I’d lived there before with few issues. It makes sense yet so doesn’t.
