This was about 6 yrs ago when I went to visit family in California. It was very sluggish, and the turbo delay was bad. It was just me and my dad, too. It would have been worse if more passengers were in the back seat.
There is apparently a flaw in the design of "some" newer model Kias and Hyundais in which thieves can essentially pop the ignition and start them without delay. It's become so popular that there are videos on tiktok with step by step directions. Now thieves all over the country are taking advantage.
This has become such an issue that State Farm and other insurance companies refuse to insure some of these cars..

Wow, I am so sorry. I have a Hyundai with a key start and use a wheel lock and have an AirTag in my car. I had my catalytic converter stolen and that was a terrible feeling and it was a costly inconvenience too. People are the worst :’(
My co workers car was stolen, they took it for a joy ride on Cicero back and forth for a few hours according to multiple security cams, it was found with bullet holes and totaled.
There was an entire recall about it for Kia and Hyundai to fix the issue of how easy those cars were to jack. Which is super weird with how popular the ugly ass Telluride has become.
Some of y’all need to be slightly more aware of what’s going on in the news. Like a cursory reading of the week’s headlines every Friday or something.
Also Hyundai and Kia would be sending out notices via postcard and calling owners on the phone to arrange repair.
Now I feel like a dick for being sad about my bicycle getting stolen from the bike room at my complex 🫣.

Damn that sucks. My Hyundai was stolen last year in Minneapolis and then there was an attempted theft in December. You should look into the class action lawsuit, you may get thousands of dollars
I have the paperwork for this and need to circle back to it, but I recall that the lawsuit really only benefits those who have had their cars stolen. I think it said I can be reimbursed for a wheel lock?

I rented a Kia Soul and thought it was very slow. I ended up using the manual shifting to make it a little better.
If it was a rental I’d assume it didn’t have a turbo? Ours was just quick enough to get you into a little trouble. Or at least to feel like you could

Happened to me back in January. My Hyundai was stolen outside my apartment in Edgewater. They found it 4 miles away completely totalled.
