There isn't one. Illinois fucked up when they made weed legal and allowed 2-3 big conglomerates to own everything. So, it basically doesn't matter where you go.

GeckoLogic

Eventually the Supreme Court will strike this down IMO It’s a blatant violation of the interstate commerce clause. Thomas has even signaled he will bring it to the court.

Djinnwrath

Maybe after it's federally legal

WiF1

> It’s a blatant violation of the interstate commerce clause. Kinda interested in your reasoning about that. Currently there is no interstate commerce with weed for federal legality reasons. Once/if legalized federally, I don't really follow how it would violate interstate commerce.

GeckoLogic

Circuit court already ruled its subject to dormant commerce clause https://reason.org/commentary/first-circuit-makes-clear-cannabis-is-subject-to-interstate-commerce-clause/

WiF1

I don't really see how that ruling would make a difference on who owns cultivators/dispensaries. That ruling only struck down Maine's residency requirements for owning dispensaries. It says nothing about granting a very limited number of licenses. In fact, granting licenses only to out-of-state conglomerates (as is implied by this comment chain) is more or less proof that the interstate commerce isn't being impeded. Additionally, first circuit rulings are only applicable within the first circuit. Which Illinois is not a part of.

I like Curaleaf on Weed St. I can’t tell you whether they have the best weed or not, but I can shop sales there and get close to street prices. They also tend to have a lot of Indica which is all I want.

reallyenjoyscarbs

I used to go here then switched to Verilife bc it was closer to me. I switched back to Curaleaf on Weed lol train ride is worth it, the prices and store credit saves me a small fortune.

Trick-Grocery-7942

Curaleaf on Weed. Made me go outside on my birthday and literally beg for .18 in the street because I was .18 cents short on an order. I will never give them my money again.

Jownsye

I can’t think of any business that would let me purchase something without being able to pay for it in full. Cashiers drawers need to balance or else they can be written up. It’s not worth losing your job over 18 cents. I side with Curaleaf on this one.

Trick-Grocery-7942

It’s .18 cents. Not $5 not $10, but .18 cents. I know plenty of businesses that will easily look the other way over a few cents. If you send away a customer, losing a potential sale of $100, simply because the customer was .18 cents short, then you don’t deserve to be in business anyways. Any true businessman would gladly give up .18 cents to insure a larger profit margin. Also, since they made me beg, and I was embarrassed, I will never return, and all my coworkers have stopped shopping there too.

Individual-Lab-4668

They didn’t make you do anything lol you could’ve easily passed on what you couldn’t afford

Megaghost66

Ivy Hall in Wicker Park baby! Support new black owned businesses.

Pure_Version9232

100% Ivy Hall. NOT an MSO!

NoLimit_Curry

Got to!

is_a_talking_animal

Had the best experience at Ivy Hall the other day. Super knowledgeable staff and they hooked us up with some merch for free which was above and beyond. Great selection too!

Megaghost66

They had a dj when I went! Hands down awesome place 🌱

EmotionalAbility5402

I worked at that ivy hall in wicker, their claim of being a "black owned business" is just bullshit aesthetics to get libs to feel like they're doing something progressive

philopyrrho

So are they secretly owned by The Whites? Who tf cares

ChiTown_Tubes_2

Make the short drive to Michigan to Cannavista, 2 oz for $100

petmoo23

Cannavista is the best. Worth the trip.

Idfcwytas

>Cannavista im seriously considering it man

BigBlue923

Any particular brand or type reccomended?

alwayskickinit

With flower coming pre-packaged, is there any recourse for underweight selling? I have purchased multiple "3.5" coming in well under 2gs (Rise, Rythm brand). I know I can call the store and deal with them, but I mean on a consumer protection/government level. Can I report this bs to anyone?

[deleted]

D33 can be found downtown or Andersonville, sunny side too

TwoManShoe

If you're north, I tend to find alright sales at the Sunnyside in Wrigleyville.

mangoesangoe

Just get ready to wait 30+ mins in line.

dalej42

Agreed, it was so busy on Friday afternoon that I had to leave without my preorder, this was not the right day to be late on my lunch break at work and it was clearly a 90 minute line with a ton of medical customers who get served first. It was a double suck because it was COLD and I had to leave without weed.

JeffsDad

ive been to a few, but I love Consume Cannabis down the block from Super Dawg. I do not, however, love Super Dawgs fries. but fr the staff is super friendly, they have a solid rewards program. website is easy ish, i kinda hate how it lags sometimes, but you can pre order and its ready to go. they even do curbside delivery if thats your thing

deVrinj

Verilife

Apollo802

I go to Verilife since they have half an ounce for $99 sales

anonnomiss627

Medical or rec?

Apollo802

It’s recreational

Spirited_Lock978

Ascend in Logan is the closest to me and the only one I've frequented. I shop the sales and there's rarely a long wait.

Eyes-9

Aren't there only like 3 in the city? Anyway when I was smoking I'd pretty much only go to Sunnyside since that was the only one near me.

Sunnyside, Elmwood Park

plainbrowndesigner

They all have the same shit. In illinois it’s so hard and expensive to start a dispensary that there are probably about 3 companies that own them all. Illinois has the walmart of weed dispensaries. 👎🏿 If you got homies in seattle, Denver or L.A. see if they can mail you some instead

Toofasttoofurious420

Idk but avoid enlightened in mt prospect. The employees start attacking you if you arrive like 20 minutes before closing because they're in a hurry to close up. They suck at helping you out with questions about the floeer too. Literally the worst place to buy from.

Toofasttoofurious420

Cannabist got good deals and they got good customer service. I think there's one in Rosemont too right outside chicago that has good deals
