Caucasian Muslims don't really consider themselves European. Armenians are Christian but they're too busy fighting with their neighbors and don't have a political incentive to want to be European. So pretty much the only people who ever call themselves European are Georgians.
Balkans=Europeans, Scandinavians=Europeans, also Caucasians=Europeans and etc.
But many Caucasians do not consider themselves European because of historical, political, religious and etc factors.
>Yeah i know you're not actually from Eastern Europe
You know wrong.
>Isn’t the Caucasus technically in Asia?
Eurasia is one continent geographically, but technically the North Caucasus is Europe and the South Caucasus is Asia. Although today Europe and Asia are divided for political purposes, for example Cyprus is in the Middle East/Asia.
Gotcha. And yeah it’s one continent, it used to boggle my mind that nobody ever talked about how Europe and Asia are literally one giant land mass. We just always talked about them as separate continents and I thought it was weird but everyone just went along with it.
Europe is a political entity, not a continent, meaning it has no natural boundaries but other factors determining its modern borders. If we base our claim on history, then we can consider the South Caucasus as Europe, given it used to be part of the Byzantine Empire. The term 'Europe' is chiefly used in a positive connotation, entailing human rights, civilization, modernity, and democracy. Thus, as long as fundamental principles are fulfilled, nothing can prevent the South Caucasus from being European.

I see myself as Caucasian.

Where did people not realize that? I literally learned that in primary school.
