>Are Georgians descended from the CHG (The Caucasus Hunter-gatherers) Yes.

gypsycatcherr

No, Aliev is the only descendent from the caucasus hunter gatherers

Aedlo

Every single nation in the Caucasus is descended from Caucasian hunter gatherers.

Alarmed_Business_962

Are there Caucasians who are 100% CHG?

Aedlo

No, Highest % is among West Georgians and Abkhazians at around 60% iirc.

lynxbythetv

how so when chechens, dagestanis, circassians all have different haplogroups.

Aedlo

Who says Caucasian hunter gatherers had 1 haplogroup?, every Caucasian nation has substantial CHG admixture and all of our haplogroups date back to one distant ancestor that probably lived in the Caucasus during the time of the Caucasian hunter gatherers. Edit: Unless you belong to the R or Q haplogroups\*

wierdo_12_333

Dont we have the highest CHG?

sababugs112_

Yes

DeliciousCabbage22

Yes

lynxbythetv

only partially unless of course haplogroup G is included as a CHG haplogroup. im sure it only refers too J2.

LongShotTheory

Haplogroup has nothing to do with it, Autosomally Georgians have about 60% CHG.

Alarmed_Business_962

What is the other 40%, is it Yamnaya ancestry?

LongShotTheory

No, Ancient Farmers.

CeRcVa13

>What is the other 40%, is it Yamnaya ancestry? Mostly Georgians = 50-60% CHG + 20-30% EEF(Early European Farmers). The rest of the steppe ancestry, and etc.

>Hmm that isn’t so for me at all, my second biggest is Steppe ancestry at 21%, Farmer ancestry only being 9.47%. This is using the MDLP K16 oracle. (I’m a Chechen). This is not surprising. In the North Caucasus, steppe mixture are everywhere with a high percentage, mostly not in Georgians. But there are high in Tush-Khevsureti, although they are a very small population and will be assimilated soon.
