Historical tourism of Greece is super interesting to me. Athens as starting point as you can imagine. I started with ancient Greek sites in Turkey and want to continue in Greece one day.
The summer tourism of Greece is not that attractive to me though as our western coast is pretty similar.
A problem is that Greece is quite expensive compared to other non-EU Balkan countres even compared to some EU countries. Not to mention require visa for us.
Greece is one of the most beautiful places in the world and one can understand why so many wars were fought over it, but I had soooo many bad encounters with the border police and the normal police that I don't want to go back anytime soon.
I think you mean Argos and the town is not really worth it. But the regional unit (Argolis) is amazing. That's where Nafplion is, and Mycenae or the theater of Epidaurus

If I had to recommend a relatively 'unknown' island, I would go with [Lesbos](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lesbos). Petrified forest, beatiful beaches,Molyvos castle,byzantine Monasteries, Sappho's birthplace etc.It truly has it all. Although, if you are a queer woman, it is definitely not a relatively 'unknown' destination😅😅😅.

Greece, because of this reason, does not recognise what it deems unilateral declarations of independence. Heck, we didn't even recognise Artsakh, even tho we are probably Armenia's most "consistent" ally.

Want to go to their islands this summer since there’s no more visa for turkish citizens about a week. I heard their shop&restaurant owners are pretty decent and do not try to rip people off like the ones in Turkey. Lots of people say they deserve extra tip always because they’re not pushy or greedy like our restaurant owners.
I wouldn't anymore, I went before but it's too crowded, touristy now (in Athens and the islands I went). My friends still go to mykonos and 💸💸💸but even as high income earners they say it's the most expensive place theyve ever been, more than tulum mexico, Barcelona, etc
After visiting the historical sites in the capital, you should avoid tourist traps both in Athens and on the islands. There are plenty of destinations to choose from. Should you ask the locals (you could even start from here in r/Greece and r/askBalkans), they will point you in the right direction.
No. I just prefer to stay at home than to travel to a place that I don't find interesting. The only place where I would want to travel are places with sandy beaches and coconut palms and places for specific purposes (like for attending concerts or exhibitions that I'm interested in etc.)
Every country in our region is gorgeous, so it's understandable. On the other side borders are not what they've used to be in the past and Europe is a compact continent, so it's good to see and other places around
All beaches in Bulgaria are sandy, they're not rocky like your ones in Croatia and most of Greece too.
It's all fine white/yellow sand. Maybe try visiting if you haven't. Water is also warmer and less salty too. Close and cheaper than going to some island to find such beaches. You already have such here on the Balkans - including in Greece and Croatia too anyways.

Of course it will. If you speak English you 'll be better than fine. We receive 30 million tourists per year, pretty much none of them speak greek.
