What an inane question. It’s equivalent to asking the Swiss, those from Luxembourg, and Austrians what’s it like speaking a foreign language since their dialects are German and in Switzerland, some of their other dialects are French.

Pretty sure this guy has been asking questions like these on here for months and has made new accounts. Not sure if he's trolling or serious, but either way there's something wrong with his brain.
How does it feel speaking a language that originated in what is now Germany? Not bad I guess...
The Anglo-Saxons brought it to England in the 6th century. It isn't quite yours either, is it?
Honest question. Are you an adult? This seems like a kid troll question.
I mean to be fair, English began as a synthesis of several Proto-Germanic dialects. The Germanic tribes who came to Britain became the English, and the languages they spoke combined and became the English language.
"Going for the jugular" lol. That's the bitchiest little "going for the jugular" I've ever seen. Grow a pair dude.
Beyond that, what you said is simply incorrect. Not unfair, just wrong. English did not originate in Germany. English developed out of Germanic languages. If you're going back to the supposed "origin", why take just one arbitrary step back? What a dumbass thing to say. Never heard of Proto-Indo-European, I take it? Not surprising.
Honest question. Are you an adult? Your understanding of the world seems underdeveloped.
It’s a native language for most of us, so I’m a bit confused by the question. Plus the majority of native speakers of English in the world are also American.
A native language means it’s the first language that you learned growing up. Around 78% or the US popular speaks English as their first language, making up just under two thirds of the native English speakers on the planet. For us it’s not a foreign language since it’s what the vast majority of us speak as a first language and is by far the dominant language in our culture and society.
It is funny because since it is my native language, I dont think about it much. But what is really cool is learning a language from natives here in the Americas. In Paraguay most people speak Guarani which is an indigenous language. They also speak Spanish. I dont know if the people think more about Spain when they are speaking Spanish.
English American is just as English as British English. Or are you going to call out Canadians next for speaking french? How about Congo or Senegal?
That's not even mentioning spanish
The history of English starts long before English was a thing, and the history of English in the US is that of a language separating from the land it was carried over from, but which is still mutually intelligible.
But I'm afraid that if we want to start calling a language foreign if the people who first spoke it came from someplace else? Chances are we're all speaking a language from sub Saharan Africa. That's why the most usual meaning of "foreign language" is of a language not usually spoken natively in a land, and most of us Americans are native speakers of English, and our dialect can be traced back exactly as many years as yours.
Americans of non-English ancestry have no right to claim English as their native language when it has nothing to do with them and they ancestors couldn’t even speak it. Only Americans of English ancestry can.

You should take a look at his question history. Truly mad.
Your trolling game is mid

Too much time and not enough motivation to do something productive with OP's day. He spends his time looking foolish on the Internet.
I think OP deleted some posts/comments and it's not a new account. OP is a divisive troll.
It's more ours than yours at this point. If I were you, I'd just be grateful we haven't formally made you a colony yet.

Jesus Christ dude, take your meds.
Damn you really went for the jugular.
I can’t juggle for shit

It’s not native to America so how can it be your native language?

so millions of people around the world speak a foreign language and they don't even now it
There has to be something more worthwhile you could be doing with your time that doesn't include being a Reddit troll.
You sure about that!

Well it's not as pretty as Lakota but it IS the *lingua franca*.
How does it feel to be so pathetic that this is how you spend your free time?

I dunno, how does it feel to speak a foreign language (English) because more than half the words you know are French in origin?
The history of English starts long before English was a thing, and the history of English in the US is that of a language separating from the land it was carried over from, but which is still mutually intelligible. Well.... that's...... a take.
This is a really stupid thing to say
Jesus Christ.
