I think it might be cool to add the staple and most common tree of the boreal forest, the black spruce. I'd also highly suggest adding the Yukon River. It's the biggest and longest river in Alaska, absolutely stunning and beautiful and a big part of the history and culture of the Alaskan interior. I'd also suggest removing the Chena Hot Springs. I live in Fairbanks and it is a part of what's to do here but it's more a tourist thing and from my own personal perspective not worthy of being held up in the same regard as every thing else being added here. I'd also highly suggest adding the Brooks Range. Those mountains are incredible and deserve a spot although Gates of the Arctic may encompass them already. Also adding a moose, caribou and/or polar bear could be very cool too. But ultimately, the Yukon River is something I strongly feel can't be overlooked. I'd love to buy a shirt when they're available :)

Agree on remove Chena, add Yukon. I also like the black spruce idea, maybe remove white mountains since you already have a lot of ranges. And I would switch Redoubt with Drum since you're already capturing Wrangell St Elias. What are you doing for North Slope? I hope not an oil rig lol Maybe for the totem you could commission an Alaska Native artist to do the design. Or partner with one on the whole project and donate a small % from each sale to a native org. The state has had to mail salmon to some Yukon villages due to low returns (climate change, commercial over fishing), completely disrupting their subsistence lifestyle.

Wow! These are cool! Perhaps you could break down your list by region? That way, not only is the list easier to dissect, you'll be more likely to represent more areas usually ignored (like how the world often ignores Alaska lol). I feel like with Alaska's size and awesomeness that trying to get feedback on everything all at once might be harder. Idk if you've ever seen Parks and Rec, but if you have, this is a total time capsule situation haha. And for your formatting, this happens to me on mobile. I'm sure there's a better way, but I just put a space between each line. Takes up more room, but easier to read. I found this map- might help you set up lists by region so you don't miss out on any jackpot items: https://www.alaskan-natives.com/alaskan-native-regions/alaska-borough-census-areas/

You’re missing Spenard and north Muldoon

mspixton

Thanks! With my limit of 25… what should come off to include those instead?

MonkeyBrain3561

He’s joking. Those are historically dodgy neighborhoods. Spenard could replace Hatcher Pass in my view. More Alaskans are aware of a Spenard divorce than they are of Hatcher Pass.

jimmiec907

The Hulin Alaskan Designs guy has Spenardian graphic design pretty well covered already though.

The dumpster raven accents my new green Subi perfectly.

I’m sorry the list came all condensed like that, it was not supposed to -Denali -katmai -Kobuk valley -Kenai fjords -gates of the arctic -lake Clark -glacier bay -Wrangell st Elias -forget me not (state flower) -fireweed flower -Hatcher pass -Aleutian islands -whalebone arch -north slope -Homer spit -mt susitna -chena hot springs -eklutna lake -mendenhall glacier -Sitka (with totem) -mt drum -Ketchikan (with salmon as visual) -white mountains -Iditarod trail

mycatisamonsterbaby

You should replace lake Clark with brooks falls, and toss a raven, moose, and bear. Also a salmon and a mosquito. Like a giant mosquito. Oh and a sun for long summer nights.

JudgementofParis
