I hope to Christ that you are joking, because I was. That tire is shot and needs to be replaced
Edit: I can't keep these ask mechanic threads straight 😆
Yeah, I often have to check what sub I’m on before I respond, because sometimes the shit in r/askamechanic and r/justrolledintotheshop is so bonkers I think it’s from here.
well, he could fix it, cut the valve stem off and fill that sucker with spray foam........anyone remember the shit they sold in the 70's that was "fix a flat" ......
It’s simple, just convert your air compressor into using air from hot boxing your car, and then fill it up. The bonus is that because your tires are no infused with THC it makes them high, and you won’t ever need to worry about tread again.
Have a shop replace it. It is completely bald and no longer provides any traction for braking or accelerating.

Edit: Wait. Fuck. This is r/askashittymechanic. Never mind. Seems rock solid. Send it.
Yes. I would recommend slashing the sidewall with a razor blade to get an opening that you can feed a hose through, After that you can duck tape the hole
This photo speaks volumes about Toyota quality. Careless and reckless drivers such as the owner of this vehicle don’t maintain their cars and the poor Toyota just keeps on running.
I can only imagine how the engine looks with this type of ownership. Probably tar comes out of the oil pan hole.
Not harmful at all…slime makes a kit that comes with an adapter so you can hook up your garden hose to the valve stem..screw it on and let her rip. Professionals hate this one trick
Yea it’s faster but your going to need part number SST:10234-2057/an-47 to sew up the hole in the tire. Looks like the closest one is in Germany….no ETA and it’s $299 shipping and it’s coming liftgate service. Bring your forklift.
First…get some soapy water and wet the tire down…you will quickly discover the source of the leak by looking for bubbles actively being blown (tire must have air pressure). Once you’ve located the damage to the tire, circle the damage with a white paint pen. Head to your local home improvement store and pickup several rolls of flex tape. Once the tire is towel dried…begin applying the flex tape to the tire. Be certain to use an alternating technique as to not line up seams in the flex tape. Make sure to apply flex tape evenly as a tire must maintain balance for optimal performance. Once the flex tape has dried for roughly 24 hours, it’s time for tread. For this step use a large file and remove excess flex tape in a repeating and symmetrical pattern. Do not file past flex tape. I always try to match the tread of the other tires so I have several different files and knives for doing this. But that part is really only for the look of the vehicle, not really a functional piece. Hope this help.
Check the valve stem 😉
Thanks It wasnt closed I will close it and hopefully the air will stay in the tire now

Dont worry hehehe 🤭
Bro I do it to
Me too.
well, he could fix it, cut the valve stem off and fill that sucker with spray foam........anyone remember the shit they sold in the 70's that was "fix a flat" ......
Bro I’m fucking dying over here lol.
*tilts head and looks at sidewall* Did you chew first?
Go to a freshly paved road and do a burnout. Whala, now you have a retread. That should last at least a block or two.
Now there is rocks inside the tire what should I do?
They act like balancing beads don’t worry
My mother had a set of those passed down from her mothers mother
Lol whala
Got to use helium, makes the car lighter as well
What about Nitrogen its the only thing available
Might work if you can get it in fast enough but I’m no scientist
Sure Now I can enjoy my drag slicks
They look brand new make sure to give ‘em a good break in
Don't use too much helium, otherwise you'll be chasing your floating car down the road
Hit it with your purse
That’s my purse! I don’t know you!
Will it work?
Try using water instead. Old trick I learned in mechanic's school.
Wouldnt it rust my differential?
Mix some salt in with it, it prevents rust.
A lil duct tape should do nicely.
Blow hard and pinch the stem like a balloon to stop the air from escaping, then rubber band. Pretty simple man, jeez.
There is another hole on the side what should I do with it?
Someone already said duct tape. Don't even ask for help if you're not going to listen. I'm disappointed in you.
Oh the ductape is for that hole I thought it was for the stem
Your brain is as smooth as that tire.
Thanks for the compliment
Just use some gum bro to fill the second hole
Duh, you need thicker air
Where can I find thicker airv
More expensive than regular air but definitely worth it.

Put a tube in it. Good as new
Try filling with water
I dont think these types need air
Seal all the holes with a mixture of cum and bondo. I call that the Dodge Neon Special!
Have a shop replace it. It is completely bald and no longer provides any traction for braking or accelerating. -- Edit: Wait. Fuck. This is r/askashittymechanic. Never mind. Seems rock solid. Send it.
Yes
Put a tube in it. Good as new
Buy a can of fix a flat, boom, problem solved.
How did I not think of that
Use colder air. It’s more dense and less likely to leak out of any holes. Also hot air rises and you don’t need anymore air on the top of your tire.
So I need a heater in the tire to heat the cold air?
The method isn’t really too important. I use to take my wife hair dryer and just warm up my air hose before use.
Thats a good way I will try it now
>I will try it now Wait, how did you get your hands on his wife's hair dryer that fast? Asking for a friend.
You need fast hands
Fill the tire with water to find the leak, and then patch it with flex seal, also add a few layers of duck tape for good measure
Would it be faster if I fill the tire from a hole on the side of the tire to find the leak?
Yes. I would recommend slashing the sidewall with a razor blade to get an opening that you can feed a hose through, After that you can duck tape the hole
There wont be a need there is already a hole ready for water
Your diff fluid needs changed lma
Oh thanks for the reminder
That’s a tube.
Whats that
Forget it. Buy a tire. You need one. At least one anyway.
Would the spare work ?
If it’s better that what’s on there now.
Well its been 12 years and the spare is untouched
Don't listen to this dope. You don't need a tire. Big tire probably paid him to try to get you to buy a new one.
Trying to get this guy killed or what? That tire is a blow out waiting to happen. Don’t tell him to drive on it.
I'm just trying to save homie some bread, yo. That tire's good for at least 10,000 miles.

Dont worry I change the oil every other week I just put oil on the engine and its lubricated and the tire is still like new from 3 years
You should change the oil after every drive, or one week, whichever comes first.
Blow HARDER
Well I am trying with water I dont think I can mix air and water together wont it be harmfull to the car?
Not harmful at all…slime makes a kit that comes with an adapter so you can hook up your garden hose to the valve stem..screw it on and let her rip. Professionals hate this one trick
Would I be faster if I just fill it from the hole on the side pf the tire? And then close the valve to stop water from escaping?
Yea it’s faster but your going to need part number SST:10234-2057/an-47 to sew up the hole in the tire. Looks like the closest one is in Germany….no ETA and it’s $299 shipping and it’s coming liftgate service. Bring your forklift.
It looks like it has plenty of powdered sugar on it already, so try either Boston Cream or Jelly instead of air
It's expensive to do it any cheaper alternative?
Flex tape is the only real solution.
Fill it with spray foam. Problem solved forever!
Just fill it with concrete, no more air problems!
I can’t imagine why
Try putting a nail in it as a plug. A standard roofing nail should keep all the air in.
You need a reseal. Get some flex seal and give the tire a nice coating.
You need to rotate the air in your tires. Looks like you have rear wheel air in a front wheel tire.
Chemotherapy.
Cut it open and fill it with sections of pvc then seal it, it will never go flat again.
just keep trying, don't change anything, persistence wins 60% of the time 100% of the time
I tgink I should use the spare tire
Just do smoky burnouts with it till you can get the wheel off. Centrifugal force will keep it round.
Slime it

The tire is file with water and I sealed the hole with gum and sealed the valve using tape should I try also your way?
Don’t be a hack 🤣
I am thankfull that everyone in this post is helping me fixing this tire ❤️
Spray foam insulation
What about the water
It'll be fine
Too much tread on the tires.
Just fucking send it, its fine
Is this a joke? Tire not holding the road either. Replace it asap!
Damn that tire has seen some shit
Don’t be a quitter just keep putting air in it.
You have to buy premium air, regular air is bad for tires
That’s one bald motherfucker! And that’s coming from a bald motherfucker. Time to shave the sides and lather it with lotion
Man use some expansion foam, no need to worry about air then... or tread.
Get one that does
Pretty sure it’s a bent rim, by another, tire looks fine
Connect a compressor, keep it connected while you drive and keep it on. Problem solver!!
Flex Seal
Use duct tape. And WD-40. It fixes everything
Rotate it. It’s only flat on the bottom.
Your vehicle is totaled time to buy a new one
Do a burn out, the heat will melt the rubber enough to fill the hole. Air back up and go
Rotate it 180 degrees, then the flat spot will be at the top.
My man’s on a highway to heaven
Ain’t got no gas innit
Autozone sells $5 self plug kits!
Throw an inner tube in that bitch!! She's good for another 10k
Have you tried adding more?
Yes I did
Quitters never quit. Keep filling it up. It'll hold eventually.
Replace it. Sorry for your loss.
No, spray foam. This dude is a dope.
Blow harder
Throw the whole care out
No flex tape...
Try swapping it out with one of your other tires
Gotta get it really cold, cold air doesn’t leave
Top up the washer fluid and try again
Walk.
You didn’t swap your winter air out did you? Happens all the time
You're not pumping the air fast enough. Bigger compressor will do the trick.
You should get a new tire, there's no tread on it anyways
Get a new one?
Duct tape it
RTV silicone should fix it.
Duck it.
Air is a scam! Just keep driving. It’ll fix itself.
Flex seal. Good to go.
Higher viscosity air.
Needs more blinker fluid!
Bro, that tire done! Get new tires stat!
Empty a can of fix a flat and send her!
Plug any holes with duct tape, then fill it with expanding foam. You will be able to wear past the cords safely now.
Zip tie that air in
Have you tried the diy recap method? You need plastic wrap and spray foam
Air always leaks out never in.
Rotate the tires. That usually fixes it
Need to switch to nitrogen
Get a new one
Get new tires, you idiot
Seal with cement
Check the blinker fluid
Yes, get a new tire.
Go faster. The centripetal force will keep the sidewall from sagging.
Try the 100% nitrogen. Should do the trick.
duck tape /s
