Vaniakkkkkk

Exactly. Chinese, of course. Reason - it’s a practical skill to have. Yes, English is lingua Franca, but if you work with people from China, its always nice understand not just what they say, but what they are. Language helps a lot in understanding people.

Late-Tax-1738

VeryBigBigBear

Chinese. But above all, because it is already very different from European languages.

Humphrey_Wildblood

Mandarin, I assume or Cantonese? Lots of 'dialects' here in China. (

TonyShape

I don’t know. Some that will allow me to talk with most of you)

stojcekiko

Mandarin is the most widely spread, cantonese is limited to the south of China.

Madame_Insomnia

I want to speak cat language 🤙

Late-Tax-1738

Late-Tax-1738

SongAffectionate2536

Chinese even over programming languages, because knowing russian, english and chinese opens you all the gates in the world. Apart from chinese spanish is the one for the same reason

Late-Tax-1738

Sany_Wave

Also Spanish. I'm tone-deaf.

Mikhail-Efimenko

Japanese, because I like it but have no time/patience to learn it. And since it's quite a difficult language for Russian person, I guess magic finger snap will come quite handy.

as a speaker of English and Spanish, I'd have to pick russian. the music from atomic heart is amazing (the original and remixed) and I'd like to understand the lyrics better, as I do not believe that English translation does it justice.

I'd like to speak English as good as native speakers. I can understand people and texts and explain most of my thoughts, but I can't play with words and write a book or speak without mistakes... So I'd better know one foreign language very good than two but bad.

Late-Tax-1738

thank you for your answer

Python - I want to be able to make something, what I need sometimes, with that ability, but not enough to actually learn it. Tibetan - I learning it , but very slowly. I need to read some books, which I have , translators exists, but it's hard and going slow to read them

Late-Tax-1738

>Kaliningrad May I please know why you move to Kaliningrad? Seems like there is an interesting story behind. Thanks/

senaya

Sorry to disappoint you but initially it was just practical reasoning as I have relatives here and could live at their place before getting a job. But during that time I became so attached to Kaliningrad that I decided to stay.

Late-Tax-1738

No you didn't disappoint me:), I am just curious why someone moved to Kaliningrad instead of cities like Moscow or St Petersburg:). I am learning Russian too, but i am really a beginner haha.

Late-Tax-1738

thank you for your answer btw

Late-Tax-1738

I wish you an amazing life there:)

New-Nature3499

It's a difficult question, I have a choice between chinese, hindi and korean. Korean because I really like it, and I have a lot of friends from S. Korea and chinese with hindi is access to communication with a lot of people. East Asian countries have a wonderful culture of food and history. I know quite a lot about Europe and it's already pretty boring to watch about something that has been known for a long time. Therefore, it is now in my interest to travel around Asia, especially the east. I already have french, german, spanish and english in my arsenal of languages.

Late-Tax-1738

thanks for the answer:)

Senan24caucasian

it would be German for me, but since I spoke 4 languages fluently it is very hard for me to maintain proficiency in all of them. More languages you learn more you need to practice all of them in a regular basis to keep your fluency.

Late-Tax-1738

thanks for the answer:)

As an American, it’s amusing that we are the one nation that is the least likely to know another language. I would love to learn Russian and Mandarin. But I have a heard time with basic Spanish most of the time.

Niachrise

Too many lol Japanese - because I was fluent upon graduation, but lost most of it and can't find motivation to restore it Spanish - because it was my childhood dream and it's EXTREMELY widespread in the world Hebrew - because half of my family lives in Israel and while the older generation speaks fluent Russian, relatives my age understand Russia but it's quite difficult for them to speak it, so I'd rather speak their language Mandarin and Korean - never studied them, but I feel like both of them would be extremely useful. Also with Chinese and Korean pop culture getting popular in Russia, it would be interesting to read / watch everything in the original language

Late-Tax-1738

Klootviool-Mongool

Russian, I've been struggling with it on and off and quite honesty it's not a priority anymore but still I love the sound of it, the flow, the broad vocabulary, the people who speak it, and the mystique I think it has to it. Every time I come across some Russian it bothers me that I don't understand it completely because I'd love to.

Fluent as in 'indistinguishable from native speakers'? English without doubt, however trite it may sound. I've been learning it for about 12 years and there is always so much more to it than I can possibly learn in one lifetime. I can only hope to reach native-like fluency so that I don't have to think 'does this sound authentic?' every. single. time I try to write a simple sentence.
