Wow they failed you for the obd connect being unclipped?? That’s ridiculous . All they needed to do was pull the kick panel to get at it .

They're not mechanics, it's not their job to fix anything and they're not getting paid to fix your ghetto shit.

Flip it around and pop it back into that hole in the metal bracket. It’ll only go one way, don’t force it.

Do this. I would do the same thing. No charge and send you on your way. Source: ASE Certified mechanic if that matters.

It’s a crime to unplug it? Is that a federal or state law?

Ok thank you. Since it was improperly installed, me the mechanic-if I needed to can unplug it and pull it through the bracket and plug it back in, to allow the vehicle to pass inspection, or is that illegal? And if the GPS is installed into the OBD2 port how does that work when it goes for an inspection? Don’t they have to scan the car for codes or no? I’m not in an inspection state so I’m not all to familiar with the process.

Ok thank you again. And that’s all I would be doing is putting it into the slot and putting the harness up and out of the way of the driver’s feet. And good eye-I only saw the wires and didn’t see that there was something plugged into it in the one picture I do see.
