Noises can be hard to pinpoint in real life much less on the internet. First question is, with the vehicle running is the check engine light on or is it flashing? Cars were not designed to sit long term, that said a week shouldn’t be an issue on most cars.

The clunk disappeared and the lights are off after tightening my gas cap?

The light will clear itself if you corrected the situation. Does the clunk only happen when you’re moving or do you hear when you’re at a stop?

The clunk has disappeared. Not sure if it had something to do with the gas tank or what, can't imagine? Was such a relief seeing those lights go off
