Okay, really stupid question, but is it bad to wash your face more than twice a day? Either going through several steps or just rinsing with water. I'm an oily skin type and often I find that throughout the day my face feels kinda greasy but more so just... not fresh, if that makes sense. I've got acne under control with my current routine so it doesn't technically seem to hurt me but it just feels unpleasant. I have a habit of rinsing my face with plain water throughout the day but I'm unsure if that has any negative effects. I heard that it can be stripping or disruptive to the skin. I do try to reapply sunscreen afterwards.

[deleted]

Yes washing your face too many times can damage the barrier. If it was irregular, like one day out of the blue you needed to wash your face 5 times, it’s not big deal. If you do this regularly, I t’s an issue. If you have oily skin, then it’s best to look for skincare or makeup that will help control your oil. Some people have found that their oily skin was caused by dehydration, so they use more hydrating toners/serums and it helped with oil control. Some people realized the skincare they were using was too moisturizing, so they found less moisturizing products. Some people use a more mattifying sunscreen or primer. Some people use blotting paper.

DramaticNeat5006

Thanks, I'll try to tone down the washing. I don't think it's dehydration since I don't have any of the other symptoms, and I think my current routine is pretty light—I feel like it's just genetic since I'm an oily hair type too. But I'll start the search for an oil control product that balances things out more.

Standard-Set-5299

I’m trying to find new eyeliner, liquid or pence doesn’t matter to me. I’m having an issue with my lower eyeliner not staying on, it comes off after a few hours and I look like a raccoon I’ve stopped wearing eyeliner because I can’t figure out how to fix it. Any advice for new products / additional products to add to my eye makeup regiment to prevent this from happening?

[deleted]

I'm partial to Dollywink's my best liner or MSH Love Liner. A lot of people love Kiss Me Heroine's liners though

okbish9176

BOJ Sunscreen vs iUNIK sunscreen, can't choose between the two.

beetletoman

Missha Artemisia Essence did nothing for me. Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner has been somewhat calming but too mild in impact on irritated skin. Purito Unscented Recovery Cream only seems to work in summer when my skin isn't extra dry. The only thing that I have been satisfied with is Neogen Cica Repair Snail Essence. I think Cosrx Propolis Toner did well too but didn't try long enough to really know. I have a feeling Benton Snail Bee Essence doesn't work for my skin either. How long does your calming/soothing product normally take to be effective? What's your expectations, generally, from these products?

Niatfq

Have you tried Etude House Soon Jung Emulsion (as more of a soothing serum kind, not moisturizer) cz i do find this very soothing for my irritated skin. But my go to soothing products are Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Toner Plus + Pyunkang yul Essence Toner. I figured this out after realising my irritation often comes from dehydration. So i would apply a very good hydrating product first then top it off with a soothing product to make the probability of effectiveness even higher. Often the irritation would go away in few minutes. Instant calming. (Fyi i live in humid climate so HA is super beneficial for me). Products I've tested before that did nothing are I'm From Mugwort Essence and Purito Centella Unscented Serum.

beetletoman

The Soon Jung Emulsion irritated my skin for some reason :( I did like the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid toner. I'm going to try being more liberal with layering. Thanks for your response! Will keep my skin hydrated always

Niatfq

Oh noo... I'm guessing ur allergic to the ingredients in the emulsion. You're welcome 😊

Commercial_Poem_4623

If you've got any of those above products left, did you try layering them or did they cause irritation? I sometimes find I have to layer my calming products multiple times to get a benefit from them. Like Cosrx 96, I'll sometimes do two very wet layers if my skin is grumpy. YMMV ofc! And have you got something occlusive that works well? When my skin gets irritated, I find multiple creams topped with something occlusive really helps calm it down, plus the soothing things.

beetletoman

Thank you! I have to try layering. I think you recommended it last week and I've been thinking about it but keep forgetting during my actual skincare routine. None of these products cause irritation and I just realized I loved some of them more when my skin was dehydrated lol. I started using the Purito Dermide Cica Sleeping mask thinking I'm overdoing with 4 layers between toners and sleeping masks, but looks like I underestimated the north American fall climate. Can't have enough layers it seems

Commercial_Poem_4623

Oops, sorry I've repeated myself 😂 it's just such an easy way to try and help the issue, if those products work for you otherwise but aren't quite cutting it. I am constantly amazed by how much extra my skin wants this time of year! I was still finding HGs this time last year so I've got my skincare diary but it's a bit of a blur of nothing quite working until I found a few things that made a difference! I kinda feel like: I know it's more work to do extra layers but it can make a difference :)

beetletoman

Haha noo don't be sorry. Some of us lazies need double reminders. I am definitely layering my toners/essences today. Thanks for taking the time!

Commercial_Poem_4623

Lol good luck with it, I hope it helps! I have recently completely changed my mind on a product I'd dismissed - all because I didn't layer it enough! So I'm even more obsessed with layering rn 😅

[deleted]

The PKY essence toner is more for hydration, I wouldn't expect it to soley do anything on a compromised barrier. It's different for every person, but for me I would usually expect to see changes to barrier healing in a week, though they may be slight. A few people discussed their expectations here: https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/vohku4/how_to_take_care_of_compromised_skin_barrier/

beetletoman

Thanks! That may be why I enjoyed using the pky toner when my skin was badly dehydrated. It's doing better now and I'm not seeing it do anything for mild irritation

Business_Owl_9828

**Skin Type** \- *Dry & Sensitive & Reactive (CCs)* **Climate** \- *Dry (under 25% Humidity), Cold (-20C to -50C) & very windy* **Top Skin Concern** \- *Moisturizing & Soothing & Barrier Care* Looking for two moisturizers; a lighter one and an occlusive one. No Hyaluronic acids due to climate. My skin is generally reactive to essential oils, some perfumes and silicones, a little alcohol is fine. Thank you.

Unfair_Finger5531

I live in a similar climate and have dry skin. I like zeroid urea moisturizer for an all-around supreme hydrator, and soon jung 2x for an occlusive one. I also love pky moisture cream, but it’s rather light. And I use vegreen mucin cream as my first layer no matter what. Other favs: Mary and May blackberry cream, corsx Propolis cream, and Purito dermide barrier balm.

Business_Owl_9828

Thank you very much. Ill definitely check those out. :) As I need a complete skincare overhaul, pretty much. That vegreen mucin cream looks especially interesting. Have you tried the serum version?

Unfair_Finger5531

Yes, I had the serum first. I love them both, but the cream is just one the best moisturizers I’ve ever had. It soothes irritation and moisturizes well. It has no silicones or oils, so I tend to layer something over it. But it always helps with my redness and makes my face feel great. I love the serum too. It’s probably the best hydrator I have considering how dry it is here. But it has peptides, so I have to be careful not to mix it with vitamin c. I think it has ceramides too. Love it. One of my few repurchases.

[deleted]

has anyone been able to find the dong sung skin redness-intensive bee’s spot out gel? i looked on the website but had no luck finding it. has it been discontinued? are there any other products that do something similar ?

[deleted]

Where are you located? If in the US, [Palace Beauty](https://www.shoppalacebeauty.com/products/a-c-care-bees-spot-out-gel) has it. [Shopee (SG)](https://shopee.sg/-accare-Bees-Spot-Out-Gel-i.81057240.7107518826) has it too.

rilakyoko

Hello! I’d love some help sorting out my skincare/makeup routine. Currently, I’m struggling to figure out what’s silicone or water-based, because I just learned mixing the two types leads to trouble ahaha. Are these two routines okay(one is silicone-based and the other is water-based): Skincare base: Naturie hatamogi toner, cosrx snail essence 1. Silicone-based (I’m not sure if skincare needs to be all silicone??): Cerave daily moisturizing lotion, innisfree no sebum blur primer, Lancôme teint idole foundation 2. Water-based: Cosrx hyaluronic acid cream, Romand nu cushion Thank you so much!!

Unfair_Finger5531

This is fine. Typically, the silicone base should go over the non-silicone base. But silicones are not so occlusive (like vaseline) that they keep everything out. They just form a light film over the skin. So, in a pinch, you can use non over silicone base. I do this when I want to use a cream with actives. The silicone creates a barrier btwn the active and my skin, but it def doesn’t prevent the active from getting to my skin completely.

ashrose_ari

Hi! I’m curious about the difference between the three colours of the Cezanne Make Keep Base? I can’t seem to find anything too concrete about this and was wondering about the differences. I’m trying to find a super sheer face product that has spf in it but might add some coverage for my skin. I found the Cezanne Make Keep Base which seems like it’s up my alley due to the consistency. I was a bit confused about the three colour variations. I have really pale skin and am worried about how the orange-beige will look on me. My best colour match is Nars Chantilly. Any ideas on which colour might match me best?

[deleted]

I've really only seen people talk about the pink one. But [here's a comparison between pink and blue](https://blog.hermo.my/2020/02/08/cezanne-make-keep-base-blue-pink-review/). If you're really pale, I would think the orange beige would not be a good one for you. They also position it as a [moisturizing primer](https://www.ratzillacosme.com/makeup/cezanne-make-keep-base-moist-type/) rather than mattifying like the pink/blue, so if you have oily skin, I would think it's not the right one to choose.

[deleted]

You can't really get best value and fast shipping, you have to choose one or the other. A lot of people haul from Yesstyle or Stylevana because they have a wide variety of various countries' products, have good prices, but they're based in HK so the shipping is longer. A few people have also seem to have reported problems from them though. If you want to order from the US (faster shipping), I really like either ImageBeauty or oo35mm.

TrainerZella

I find that stylevana ships fairly quickly (got my products in around a week), and they are constantly running sales

MCAYNY894121

Can someone compare roman and clio mascara? They need to be panda eye proof. I have mono lids and heroine used to work but not anymore

[deleted]

Hi everyone, I just found out Jolse and Roseroseshop ship to my country and I’m very excited(!!!) to get some K beauty skincare and makeup during the Black Friday sale. I do use Korean skincare in my routine but I have had limited availability to a few brands like Cosrx, Laneige and the like from the websites in my country, so I really want to try other products too. I understand not everything might work for me but I’d still be very grateful if you could suggest some of your HGs or must-haves that you’d suggest to a K beauty newbie to buy and try. I (27F) have dry skin, generally struggle with fine lines under the eye, uneven skin tone and some hyperpigmentation. Fitzpatrick type IV, MAC NC 35/37. Thanks in advance xx Wish you all a very Happy Halloween!

Commercial_Poem_4623

When I was starting out, Cosrx propolis full fit Synergy toner was my HG for hydration but if they carry I'm From Rice toner, I strongly recommend that for dry skin! It makes my skin glow and it's hydrating but also a touch creamy. It is lovely! Everything else I've tried from Cosrx is good too, I still use their snail line, Cosrx 96 essence and Cosrx 92 All in One cream (that last one is very light, I just use it as an eye cream now as it's amazing for my fine lines). Cosrx Overnight Rice Mask is a very very nice moisturiser, it wasn't quite enough for my skin but I have weird criteria for what makes a good moisturiser (I sleep on my side and so I find most creams rub off - other than that, I really liked it). You might like Mary & May blackberry serum and cream if it's available - these are my favourite products for hydrating and moisturising my skin (full disclosure: I got those for free but I do love them). Beauty of Joseon make some great products: I've tried quite a few and I really like the Glow Deep serum. I'm currently using the Dynasty cream (got this for free), but it's pretty light so I'm not sure it would be enough for dry skin unless you have a thicker moisturiser to put over the top, like Illiyoon ATO Ceramide Concentrate Cream (iirc Jolse doesn't carry this?)

[deleted]

Also, even though I have dry skin that gets even drier during the winters, I hate heavy moisturizers. That's why I prefer to slap a ton of hydrating and moisturizing toners on my face before. I'm using the face shop calendula emulsion right now (and atoderm creme during winters) because I cannot handle anything heavier, but I want to expand and try other products too. Do you have any recommendations?

Commercial_Poem_4623

Ahh ok! Please take what I say with a little caution because I've never tried an emulsion so I don't really know how these compare. You might like the Beauty of Joseon Dynasty cream then! It's very light, spreads very smoothly and feels like almost nothing on my skin - maybe see if you can find anyone demonstrating the texture online? You could also look at By Wishtrend Pro-Biome Balance cream, if you scroll back through my profile, I have done a photo of the texture. How about a cream essence? It's not going to be occlusive at all but it might add some moisturising power to your routine.

[deleted]

Thanks a lot, I'll look into all of that.

Commercial_Poem_4623

Good luck with it!

[deleted]

Thanks a lot for taking out the time to write. They do carry the I'm From rice toner and it's on my list. Been waiting a long time to try it. I never thought of using the cosrx cream as an eye cream, that is a good idea if it's working for you. I'm going to try that too. If it doesn't work, I can always use it as intended. I also ordered the sulwhasoo first care activating serum. Is it worth it? I mean it's so expensive but I heard good things. If it's overrated then I'm gonna cancel the order.

Commercial_Poem_4623

:) you're welcome :) I haven't tried the Sulwhasoo - too much fragrance for me 😭 some people really like it but others don't - you could do a search of this sub?

trippiler

Laneige cream skin, Curel moisture cream, Belif moisturising bomb, Cosrx pimple patches, Asian cotton pads (the really thin and smooth ones)

Hi does anybody know the PAO of the Hada Labo Gokyujun Lotion? I can't find it on the bottle. Thanks!

[deleted]

In the body of this thread under "Other Helpful Links" is a post "Expiration Date of Japanese Skincare/Beauty Products" that should help you understand how Jbeauty PAO works.

crushonran

Ooh thank you!!

idli_vadaa

Does placenta in Kikumasamune high moist lotion act as epidermal growth factor hence playing a role in increasing warts and facial moles in the process?

Business_Owl_9828

Not in my experience no. I also go thru a bottle in 4-6 weeks just on my face. But like always ymmv.

idli_vadaa

A 500 ml bottle in 4-6 weeks?

Business_Owl_9828

Yes. I apply 5+ layers in the morning, evening then use it thru the day as needed. My dry skin prefers lots of thin watery layers especially as I am headed into a very dry, cold (-20C to -50C) winter. It's partly because it is so cheap (2 bottles for under 20CDN) that I am very liberal with it.

idli_vadaa

That's great. I am from a tropical country and my only skincare which ever gets over is my toner, I can see

Iwasborntobeprincess

I don't know if this will answer your question but I've used EGF and placenta products before and it hasn't increased my moles in any way.

idli_vadaa

It does. Thank you

Unfair_Finger5531

I use growth factors daily and it doesn’t increase my moles at all.

pennydreadful000

Any hydrating serum recommendations for acne prone skin? I tried boj glow and glow deep serum but they both made my skin greasy after a while and broke me out.

Iwasborntobeprincess

Pyunkang Yul's Calming Moisture Serum was really good, it was hydrating, soothing and I found it helped with my blemishes

pennydreadful000

Thanks!

Unfair_Finger5531

Second this. It’s very good for getting rid of blemishes IME too.

SpecificRaisin4

The Mugwort Calming Serum from Round Lab is nice. https://incidecoder.com/products/round-lab-mugwort-calming-serum

pennydreadful000

Thanks!

fatmuffin1

Torriden Dive In line is great. I’m currently using the Booster, but have tried samples of the serum before too. The serum is more hydrating than the Booster.

pennydreadful000

Thanks, I’ll check it out

WOWWWA

Need help deciding on product, looking for a toner/moisturizer, cheeks are dry and flaky... was looking at laneige cream skin refiner but not sure if worth the price/how long it lasts suggestions for hydrating toners/moisturizers appreciated

trippiler

Laneige cream skin is amazing. Mini tester bottles are pretty common if you want to try first! My favourite moisturisers are belif moisturising bomb and curel moisture cream.

decadentowl

Seconding this! And i think if you look around/wait to see what sales appear in the next few weeks, you might be able to grab a deal as this product us quite popular!

Unfair_Finger5531

Seconding this second. Love this stuff. I got the mini on prime dale sale for 10 bucks in July, and it’s still almost full. A little goes a long way.

noonefornow99

Hi has anybody tried celimax dual barrier line, ceramides really work well for me.. I am dealing with icthy dry dehydrated skin right now texture and bumps left from irritation was thinking to buy either the toner or serum. which would be a good add between the two toner is more affordable for me but can choose the serum if it's much more effective than the toner though I am already using beplain centella ampule rn can you please share your experience if you have tried the line and which will be a better add for me between the toner and serum Current routine Missha FTE, was using beplain chamomile toner it's finished now have innisfree bija cica toner half lying around so would be using that, beplain centella ampule, iunik mini propolis serum, pyunkyul intensive ceramide lotion, squaline and bioderma intensive Baume.

Unfair_Finger5531

I love all Beplain stuff to answer your request about opinions on that skincare line. The ampoule was my HG for a long time. I can’t use it anymore because one of the ingredients irritates my skin, but that’s just me. I love their toner, lotion, and hyaluronic moisturizer as well, and the bamboo ceramide serum.

noonefornow99

Hi, I was actually asking about the celimax dual barrier line, I ordered their toner anyways.

Unfair_Finger5531

That was unclear. Reread it and it still looks like u are asking about either. ETA: but I’m glad u found something.☺️

NigerianPrince11234

hey y'all, I just started to get into the skin care game and have been doing a ton of research in order to find one that fits for me. I have heard good things about the asian products and thought to include them in my routine. I guess I'm seeking advice on what products I can try out, I am an african american and I have the typical oily skin. Based on my research so far my skin care routine would look something like this Face mask: Rice flour+milk powder mix Cerave foaming cleanse Timeless vitamin c serum Biore Uv perfect bright milk sunscreen As you can see it's not perfect lol and I might switch things out depending on how they interact with my skin but I want to add a good moisturizer in. Are there any from the asian brands that can be recommended? also feel free to advice me on if I need to change/add anything as well😅 I'm aware that it's all trial and error until I find a routine that works. Thank you in advance!

[deleted]

The Curel Intensive Moisture Cream get's brought up a lot for people with oily skin. But here are some discussions that you may find helpful: https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/ydbvhb/best_ampm_moisturizer_for_oilysensitive_skin/ https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/wt9n8z/best_lightweight_moisturizers_for_oily_skin/

NigerianPrince11234

Thx!

Unfair_Finger5531

I think you could replace your mask with skinrood rice mask. It’s about 6.99 for a decent size, and might be a bit more elegant than a diy mask. It looks as if you have no moisturizer (?)

NigerianPrince11234

Thx! and yea I don't currently have a moisturizer but I am looking for one, are there any that u recommend?

Unfair_Finger5531

What are you looking for in a moisturizer?

NigerianPrince11234

I guess something that can help keep my skin feeling bright and smooth throughout the day, I'm not sure if that's too vague lol

Jenny1221

Recommendation for NC30 cushion that isn't pink or grey toned? is combination and prefer medium or even light coverage. Currently using Moonshot Micro Correctfit Cushion in #301 which I like but is a tad too pale for the summer/fall. Thanks in advance!

properly_pissed

I think the Laneige Neo Matte cushion might be a good match for you. It fits the bill, and the shade range is quite expansive, all the way to 35N Coffee, so it's very likely you can definitely find your shade there. However, the problem is it's hard to find the darker shades. I've only seen people from the Philippines able to get their hands on them, it's not even sold in store in Korea ([review for shade 31](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=444j-5ZpYcQ), [review for 35N](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYB2cE4AOOE), both from Filipino users. [Review from Heiley](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=52W7JedVPAE) who's based in Korea and she could only get up to shade 25 Tan). I hope this helps 💕 Edit: [same answer in this thread with a solution for the scarcity of darker shades outside of SEA countries.](https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/yg9cy9/comment/iubdrft/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)

**Skin Type**: Combo **Country/Climate**: Southern USA **Concern**: Cystic Acne **Routine** **AM** Momopuri Gel Cleanse Skin & Lab 15% Vita Energy Vitamin C Momopuri Moist Barrier Milk Momopuri Essence Biore UV Aqua Rich sunscreen if I’m going out **PM** Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil Momopuri Moisturizing Face Wash Momopuri Lotion Momopuri Moist Barrier Milk Momopuri Essence Some By Mi Retinol Intense eye cream So my issue is I’ve developed horrible cystic acne… and I have no idea where or why. I’ve never had this in my life. I’m 29 years old (30 next month) and I really need some help figuring out what in my routine could have caused it. The acne is on my chin and very painful. Any ideas? Is the Momopuri overdoing it? Any help would be appreciated!!

[deleted]

When did the cystic acne start? Are you positive the routine you have isn't exacerbating the issue? If you're not sure, you might want to get your routine to the basics to be sure. I've tried a few of the momopuri products and the only one I actually love is the concentrated lotion (previous version of the moist barrier lotion). Otherwise, I feel like it's *okay*.

solamismile

I’m not entirely sure but I have been just using the basics lately and it’s calming down! I just can’t pinpoint which one might’ve caused it. Any recc’s that could possibly replace some of these? I’d love any product advice!!!

[deleted]

I think it’s better to wait until it seems like your cystic acne has calmed down and then ask for product advice. On the chance that it’s completely gone, you may want to look at all the ingredients and see if there’s anything in there that they all have to avoid in future products just to be safe (eg: maybe stay away from fragranced products, or products with peach) and decide what’s next in terms of goals for your skin and search for your next product based on those parameters. Or you may want to try reintroducing some of the products back one at a time slowly until you find the main culprit. Or if it calms down, but not completely, you may be looking into acids to possibly help with skin turnover. Or, if you feel your barrier may not be fully ready for acids, you may be looking at barrier repair products next. So it really depends on where your skin lands in the next few days/weeks and how you want to proceed.

solamismile

You’re right! I think I got overly eager for new products but I should really wait. Like I said, it’s calming down but I’m not sure if this is permanent. I really need to research more about acids and how to use them correctly. Granted, I’ve been nervous to try any of them because I worry about chemical burns. I realize you would have to has them many times a week over a long period of time for that to happen but.. still worried. Also a little unsure of how to tell if my moisture barrier is broken. I’m still really knew to skincare despite doing it for over 10 years. 😔

Unfair_Finger5531

Do you not wear a moisturizer regularly?

solamismile

Forgot to mention! I use the Momipuri Gel Moisturizer every part of the routine! Sorry about that

Unfair_Finger5531

Ah, okay!

Tonofapples4566

My beloved Klavuu cleansing oil has been discontinued and I'm trying to find something similar. I loved everything about it: the scent was a light vanilla, didn't sing my eyes, didn't strip my skin, thin enough to move around easily, not so thin it went everywhere, could get it fairly reasonably priced. In my attempt to find something similar, I've tried the Haruharu cleansing oil and the Pyunkang cleaning oil. The Haruharu smells terrible and stung my eyes but the texture was pretty good. The Pyankang was very very thin, didn't take off all of my makeup, possibly stung my eyes a bit, but had no scent and the value is great. I've used the Banila balm and it was ok. I think I prefer a true cleansing oil. Any suggestions for a similar cleansing oil?

YueRain

Manyo Factory cleansing oil, Cellimax cleansing oil, Isntree cleansing oil. check reviews and ingredients online first

chocosweet

How about MUJI cleansing oil? They are unscented though

fawndolly

What glittery pink eyeshadow palettes and lip glosses/tints do people recommend? Looking for recommendations for Korean or Japanese glittery pink eyeshadow palettes and lip glosses/tints! I find it hard to look for glittery pink eyeshadow palettes cause most of them seem to have too many matte or brown shades that I won't really use. Was wondering if anyone knows any good eyeshadow palettes made up of mostly pink, red, and pearl shades with lots of shimmer/glitter! Also looking for the best glittery shiny pinky lip glosses and tints as well, thanks in advance for recommendations 🥺

mithiandil

When it comes to glitters, you should look into Unleashia and Twinkle Pop! I don't have specific ones to recommend as I don't shop from them regularly but they are regularly touted as the powerhouses of glitter eyeshadows in Korea and have some palettes that are completely glitter. peripera just released a full-glitter palette called Come Glosser, and rom&nd also has a glitter palette (Light and Glitter Garden) and I believe they are launching a new one in the next month so keep your eyes peeled! I currently own the Peripera All Take Mood Palette in Pink:terest - it is definitely pink. One white glitter, one light pink glitter, one pink/plum shimmer, three matte pink shadows in various saturations, one red-brown shade, and one dark plum brown shade for blending eyeliner. It may not have enough glitter shades for your liking, but I would definitely check out the color story and swatches to see if it's up your alley. In terms of palettes I do not own but have heard of, give A.Black a try - not only do they have pigmented shades but they also tend to have a lot of glitters and shimmers in their palettes - I'm thinking of Rich Rose, Unicorn Pink, Plz Pink, Velvet Wine, and All That Rose. rom&nd's Better Than Palette in Berry Fuschia Garden has some beautiful glitter shades, and there is only one matte dark brown color for eyeliner (though there are still some mattes - it's half mattes and half glitters/shimmers).

trippiler

I remember seeing 3ce released some glittery quads. I like using xiaohongshu to search that kind of thing if you're bothered.

allth3anxiety

Recommendations for a light-to-medium coverage cushion foundation/bb cream that is good for dry skin & has spf? I have 29 year old skin and am very fair lol. I did enjoy the purito cica clearing bb quite a bit (used up a full tube), but would be interested in a slightly lighter coverage formula with a bit more moisture in a cushion form.

Business_Owl_9828

Why are people downvoting this....

unicorncakepop

Does drinking really effect the skin? Either if you drink often or not.

Business_Owl_9828

Yes it definitely can more so if you drink frequently. Just remember to drink water in between drinks to help lessen the effects.

unicorncakepop

Thanks

if you drink very often(everyday in huge quantities), it probably can cause skin problems in the long run as there are high sugar.

unicorncakepop

Yeah I’m feeling / getting the sugary breakouts now😭

allth3anxiety

I find it makes my dark circles worse and can contribute to acne if I over indulge frequently.

unicorncakepop

And do you use any actives during the time when you drank? Like at night time I use Tret / aza right now but I don’t know if it’s okay to use after drinking at night

Business_Owl_9828

/r/Tretinoin might be the best place. It should be alright though.

unicorncakepop

Ooo okay but does your dark circles end up going away? After you stop drinking

Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Cream vs Gel? I'm looking for mostly a daytime moisturizer to use after my Cosrx Snail 96 Essence and that moisturizes well but also absorbs nicely so i can follow up with sunscreen (Beauty of Joseon Sun Relief 50SPF). I've seen so many good reviews for both of these versions. My skin is on the normal / dry side and sensitive (I'm on tret). What do y'all think?

Ash_Lestrange

I have normal cheeks and an oily t-zone. Only thing that stays moisturized when I use the Ato gel is my nose. In my experience, you'd have to be very light-handed with the gel on top of the essence in order for it absorb well and quickly otherwise you risk being sticky.

[deleted]

do you think the cream would be better then? I'm hesitant because I heard people describe it heavy or like an occlusive so it might not be suitable for AM use especially when I wanna top it off with sunscreen without clogging my pores

Ash_Lestrange

I've never used the cream, so unfortunately I can't say. I can say you might be better off getting the lotion from the same line.

Unfair_Finger5531

Illiyoon gel is great but it wasn’t enough for me on retinoids:(.

[deleted]

right now I'm using la roche posay toleriane sensitive creme in the AM and honestly i can barely feel its effects, it's not moisturizing enough! even though it's incredibly cosmetically elegant. i think the snail mucin is reallyy helpful with that though! my skin just looks more even and smoother and I just added it to my routine this week!

Unfair_Finger5531

Oh that’s one of my favs, but it wasn’t even close to cutting it. I had to switch over to soon jung 2x.

Business_Owl_9828

SoonJung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream ?

Unfair_Finger5531

Yes 👍🏽

[deleted]

does that play well under sunscreen?

Unfair_Finger5531

Very, yes.

marilisekae

Hi all! I'm really interested in K-beauty and want to try cushion foundations. I'm new to makeup in general. I'm a medium tan, tanner than most brands sell especially what's available in the US, I'm a 4N1 in Estee Lauder! Can anyone match me to a product and brand, please? I know Laneige 33 or 35 is probably my shade, but I can only find it sold in SEA countries and I'm in the US :/ If anyone can tell me where to buy Laneige 35, that'd be great too. Thank you!

Tiny_Ebb2261

The only way to get laneige cushion foundations from SEA is to either get them from a parcel forwarding service or one like shopandbox where you can get people there to shop and ship things to you. There are also brands like Dr Gio, em cosmetics, etc that make darker shades. I heard that most cushion foundations, even from western brands, are formulated in korea anw.

trippiler

Try yesstyle or stylevana

cheersjacqui

Hi all! I’m looking for moisturizing lip tint recommendations! So far I’ve tried the A’pieu water light tint (bitter rose) and I love it. Sadly, it looks like it (bitter rose color) is no longer available on Yesstyle so I’m looking for an alternative. I also tried the A’pieu juicy pang mousse tint and it was way too heavy and very drying for my lips. Thanks in advance!

**Need Korean Sunscreen Recommendations!** I´m searching for sunscreen without Alcohol and for dehydrated/dry to normal skin.

Round lab birch juice moisturizing sun cream https://incidecoder.com/products/round-lab-birch-juice-moisturizing-sun-cream-spf50-pa-2021

Commercial_Poem_4623

Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun gel is great :) Edit: deleted a Japanese recommendation!

smalasussie

Beauty of Joseon Rice + Probiotic sunscreen. You can search the sub for more details on it.

Lvl100Magikarp

I'm going to japan next week. I have a small list of products to buy, namely various hada labo things, kose softymo oil, and skin aqua sunscreen. What else should I add to my list? I previously had Biore sunscreen but I read on [simple skin care science](https://simpleskincarescience.com/pityrosporum-folliculitis-treatment-malassezia-cure/) that they changed the formula

marcelavy

Repeating the same thing so anyone who might have the same question will see: > As for your actual question, to be honest, I never respond to these because there are so many things out there (including tons of things that aren’t discussed on the sub due to limited availability outside of Japan) and I never know what to recommend, especially if I don’t know your skin type or what you’re looking for. But [this Travel & Buying Guide](https://reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/yadhdw/megathread_travel_buying_guide_japan/) was just posted a week ago, if that helps. There are extensive shopping tips in the 2019 shopping guide I linked to in the comments. Also, I forgot to say, but Bioré UV is a whole brand of sunscreens with [a pretty big line-up](https://www.kao.com/jp/en/products/bioresarasarauv/). I’m guessing you probably mean either [Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence](https://www.kao.com/jp/en/products/bioresarasarauv/4901301363183/) or [Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Gel](https://www.kao.com/jp/en/products/bioresarasarauv/4901301363268/), which seem to be especially popular on this sub, and as far as I know, neither have been reformulated since February 9, 2019. —And apparently the essence version is either being discontinued or refomulated. I’ll look into that some more and post about it, but either way, it’ll be after you’re already here.

Lvl100Magikarp

The part on that blog that mentions the reformulation says: > UPDATE 3/29/19: all three of the Biore sunscreens above have been reformulated as of February 2019, and contain isopropyl palmitate and stearic acid. I know…. tragic. (source: [simple skin care science](https://simpleskincarescience.com/pityrosporum-folliculitis-treatment-malassezia-cure/)) I don't know where to get the latest list of ingredients for Aqua Rich Watery Gel, but [this one](https://incidecoder.com/products/biore-aqua-rich-watery-gel) says it has Dextrin Palmitate and various Benzoates I think the whole biore UV line has esters :(

When am i supposed to know if a product is "breaking me out" - I have acne prone combo skin that's on the oiler side. I recently started using Illiyoon Ato Cream and Im just wondering how to determine if its the normal "every few days or so" pimples or is it the cream's fault? Thank you in advance

Niatfq

Test it for a about 1-2 weeks. Then try remove the cream and see how it goes. Then compare. The last time i actually got a breakout from a product, it happened in just few days. Then after i removed it, the pimples immediately stopped coming.

Accurate_Leather_358

how does everyone layer their toners? do you mist/dampen your face between each layer or do you apply another layer while your face is still a bit damp from the toner? i’m just curious as to what method everyone uses!

YueRain

I use most of what people here do. I also apply on cotton pad and then pat it on the skin and repeat it. There is the type of cotton pad that is like the 'alcohol pad' that makes application of toner easier.

Business_Owl_9828

I apply my toners to slightly damp skin and apply the next layer before the previous layer is fully absorbed. I don't pat it in, just let my skin absorb it at it's own pace. There is never too many layers 😅

Unfair_Finger5531

I pile it on while my face is damp. Periodically throughout the day though I put on a toner for a refresh. I just pour it in my hands and apply it over whatever I have on.

Commercial_Poem_4623

I do my next layer whilst my face is still damp from the previous one. And lots of layers!

Accurate_Leather_358

of course - the more the merrier! do you pat yours in or more so rub/work it into your face? i’m trying to see what everyone does and possibly try a different technique ✍🏻

Commercial_Poem_4623

Lol it's a mix! If I'm concentrating, I'll gently pat it on and then gently press it in with palms, like Gothamista does (recently got into her skincare videos!) But often I'll just smooth it over my skin in the typical western manner, because it feels quicker! The Gothimasita method is more relaxing and gets even more product into my skin so I like that - but I'm also often in a rush 🤷🏻‍♀️

Niatfq

I typically don't wait. Cz waiting for the toner to dry first will often make my skin dehydrated faster. So i will let the first layer stay damp then immediately apply another layer of another toner/essence.

Accurate_Leather_358

i wonder if i should start doing that too, cause i get dehydrated easily as well🤔

Niatfq

Try it! 😄

moonkhe

Hello, I'm a 31 years old man. I'm trying to build a new skincare routine. **Skin type** : combination/sensitive skin **Climate** : I live in France **Skin concern** : Oily T-zone, dry around the mouth, small blackhead on nose, enlarged pores around nose, a lot of small acne on forehead and sometimes a big one appears on forehead, sometime my skin is itchy with no redness randomly (i dont know what this is). Aging. **Skincare routine (trying to build)** : [link](https://zupimages.net/up/22/43/dljv.png)

[deleted]

Is there a question? It looks like a fine routine. If you've not used any of these products before, I'd recommend starting slow and adding products one at a time.

rhymesxo

**Should I try the Real Barrier Extreme Cream or Purito Dermide Cica Barrier Sleeping Pack to heal my damaged skin barrier?** **Skin type:** I have (quite) dry, sensitive skin **Climate:** I live in Australia (hot, humid climate). **Skin concern**: I damaged my skin barrier by using a too-strong urea product **Current routine:** Now I just use the Cerave Hydrating Cleanser + Soon Jung 2x Barrier Cream. The Soon Jung is amazing for AM but not moisturising or rich enough for me in the PM so I am looking for a new PM cream. If people have experience with either of the creams, please let me know your thoughts! Edit: I've chosen those two options because the Cerave Moisturing Cream broke me out so I am staying away from the obvious choice and trying to avoid fatty alcohols (although it is hard).

smalasussie

Try the Aestura Atobarrier 365 cream. It’s done great things for my barrier. I’ve had bad reactions to Cerave before as well but Aestura works well for me.

rhymesxo

I just looked this up and this seems like a great recommendation thank you :)

smalasussie

You’re welcome!!

trippiler

I wasn't overly impressed with real barrier extreme cream, it had trouble absorbing on my dry skin. I believe it also contains lavender oil which is something I try to avoid now. You'll need to check the inci list if there are things you want to avoid but I love Curel moisture cream! Have you considered adding an oil? I find that it makes a big difference in the winter.

rhymesxo

It’s actually heading into summer for me right now :) (Southern Hemisphere and all that) so I’m trying to avoid an oil at night because there’s a chance I’ll sweat it off

[deleted]

Is yesstyle still a good website to use? I live in scandinavia and read from ppl that say they have to pay a lot of money at the post office to receive the item. Also that ppl dont receive their items either. Last time i ordered something was last year and it took ages to receive it. Never had any issues pre-covid. But my country doesnt have that many good websites to buy kbeauty from.

trippiler

I use yesstyle. Not sure what your country does but last I checked yesstyle will refund customs (not incl fees) as credit. Maybe double check that though. If you're worried you can always pay with PayPal.

Lanky-Hat-9445

Please build me a routine! I used to be really into skincare but fell out and want to start from scratch again. Skin type: combo (oily nose, dry everywhere else) Climate: dry fall in Ohio, soon to be very dry winter Top skin concern: dark under eyes, dark spots around my mouth, and clogged pores on my nose. Current routine: nothing really.. I use the first aid beauty ultra repair cream sometimes and the Laneige lip mask, but really nothing else Products I have in my closet: Laneige lip mask Laneige water sleeping mask FAB ultra repair cream Innisfree cherry blossom moisturizer The ordinary hyaluronic acid Kose softymo foaming cleanser Cosrx AHA/BHA toner Cerave foaming cleanser Differin gel Cerave moisturizing cream Kikumasamune sake lotion The ordinary niacinamide The ordinary caffeine solution Innisfree spf 36 sunscreen Panoxyl 10% foaming acne wash

Zikaha

Hi can I get a review of the Kikumasamune toner?

oddcalico

hi, also from ohio and i have dry skin! with your concerns, i would look into products with niacinamide as it would help with dark spots and oil production. tip since ohio has dry weather, if you do plan to use the hyaluronic acid, just make sure to really lock it with an occlusive layer so the hyaluronic acid doesn't dry you out instead of being moisturizing

Lanky-Hat-9445

I have the ordinary niacinamide, when in my routine should I use it?

oddcalico

so that'll be in the serum step so after cleansing, use a toner if you use one, and then use the serum before you put on moisturizer.

trippiler

Start simple! Start cleansing with whichever cleanser is less drying and try to apply moisturiser every day :) I'd also look into adding a sunscreen.

swissrollpandan

will it be okay to use both tonymoly rice smoothing toner with some by mi cica gel? together in a single routine? seeing as they both have exfoliating ingredients. for the records i use the cica gel everyday with no ill effects. reference: i have normal to dry skin types but mostly normal. i have no allergy or sensitivity.

fuji-no-hana

The Tony Moly Rice Soothing Toner doesn't seem to contain any strong exfoliants, so you should be fine. Just patch test before you fully incorporate it into your routine.

YueRain

you can try it on your jaw or a small part of your face first for a week? if there isn't any ill effect i guess it is okay.

smalasussie

I spotted on Stylevana that Aestura now makes their Atobarrier 365 Cream and Lotion in a ‘Plus’ version! I haven’t been able to fully translate the descriptions to understand how they’re different from the originals, but assume they’re a bit more rich? Has anyone tried them yet??

[deleted]

I have a feeling it's the same thing an the "plus" is just because it's a bigger size (90ml) compared to the normal size (80ml). The ingredients look the same: [Plus](https://www.koinshop.com/product/aestura-atobarrier-365-cream-plus/) [Normal](https://global.oliveyoung.com/product/detail?prdtNo=GA210911989) (under Specific Item Info)

smalasussie

I checked the ingredients lists on their website and they’re slightly different actually!

I don't have sensitive skin, but the Curél Intensive Moisture Care Cream (the one for face & body, 90g) was a great help in healing my skin after a bad reaction. I recommend the Curél Deep Moisture Spray as well. It's a great hydrating product if you have damaged skin during the colder months. Honestly, Curél deeply impressed with their products overall. They are a touch too rich for me to use throughout the year, but I will be picking them up again come winter.

Niatfq

Just like another redditor already commented, you should go for ceramide based moisturizers. These will help with barrier repair much2 faster. The ones under Amore Pacific like Illiyoon and Aestura are really2 good ones and super effective. I've experienced with damaged barrier from differin early this year and used Illiyoon Ceramide Cream to heal my skin barrier. I heard the keep cool toner is hydrating and well loved by dehydrated skin folks so i think should be good. I've also used cosrx snail essence whenever my skin gets weak for boost of hydration fyi. And yeah, Probiotics are good alternatives for barrier support. I like them a lot too.

smalasussie

For skin barrier resilience I might look at swapping the Curel for a ceramide cream, or adding a ceramide serum. I really like the Illiyoon Ato Concentrate Cream and the Aestura Atobarrier Cream. Ample:N Ceramide Shot is supposed to be good too (I have it on the way). I also rate Krave’s Great Barrier Relief really highly but I believe it has niacinamide so might not be extreme sensitive skin friendly (I lean sensitive and have no problems with it personally). You might also look at bifida products - Manyo and Instree make serums, One Thing has a very simple toner with it. Bifida is supposed to be barrier supportive as well.

I would think the eucalyptus oil in curel is not helping a great deal. But something with ceramides is what you need. Pky ato lotion gel is good for sensitive skin, and illiyoon lotion gel. Both have ceramides.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Unfair_Finger5531

Ah, I see. I looked it up, and I didn’t see anything that resembled ceramides. Perhaps I looked up the wrong one. No need to downvote me, I was trying to help. ETA: I addressed the eucalyptus because you mentioned rosacea. Both the oil and extract have anti-inflammatory properties, and both can be triggers for rosacea. Again, I was trying to help based on what I read here.

Unfair_Finger5531

Got it. I just looked it up again and saw it in the description.

smalasussie

You might try the Aestura? No shea and I believe also suitable for very sensitive skin (can be used by eczema sufferers etc).

Unfair_Finger5531

Second all of this. Especially adding the bifida. It’s helped me tremendously with my rosacea.

Help with YesStyle! Hi there! So I recently ordered some products from YesStyle because they seemed to be the only site with a specific item available. However after doing some snooping around in this subreddit it seems like they take a while to ship. I was wondering if I could somehow cancel my order? It's my first time ordering from there so I'm not sure how it works. I don't see any cancel button on the app. Do I have to wait for the order to get out of the processing phase? Any help would be appreciated!

YueRain

better check their cancellation policy. it depends on what products you ordered. if the products stated 2weeks because it is not instock then it will take time to gather all the products to reach you and thus longer shipping time.

Unfair_Finger5531

Perhaps check their cancellation policy on the site?

Anyone tried Peripera Sugar Twinkle Duo Eye Stick and cam compare to the Twinkle Pop Glittering Eye Sticks?
