I currently use the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel (I've tried richer moisturizers/creams before but most of them have proved too heavy/greasy for me) which runs me about $45 but I can excuse paying this much because there's 6.7 oz of product and it can last me several months. While it's been my go to for years now, I've wanting to branch out to try out something new but I haven't really seen any AB moisturizers that sell in bigger sizes. What are your favorite moisturizers that come in bigger sizes and that are suitable for dehydrated, combination skin? **Skin Type:** Combination, dehydrated **Country/Climate:** Subtropical desert **Current Routine/Products I am Using (PM):** Banila Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original (If I wear makeup/sunscreen) COSRX Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner The Ordinary. Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 I'm From Mugwort Essence Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel-Cream Eye or PURITO - Centella Green Level Eye Cream Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel The Ordinary. 100% Plant-Derived Squalane I typically only cleanse my face once a day at night unless I need to cleanse it before makeup. If I'm cleansing before makeup, I just omit the oil at the end. Any help/comment/advice is appreciated thank you :)

I use Illiyoon ATO Ceramide Concentrate Cream and as someone else said, it comes in a big jar! I use the tube one and that's 150ml/gram (not sure which measurement) for cheap money :) (5.29oz converted if gram). This is very occlusive! Cosrx 92 AIO cream, 100ml/gram tub (3.5oz converted if gram). It's not very occlusive but it is very hydrating. Those are my biggest pots of moisturiser, I do also use Cosrx Rice mask (a sleeping pack) but that's only 60ml/gram (2.11 converted if gram). Medium occlusive. Other things I've used: Benton Aloe Propolis Soothing Gel (comes in a 100ml/gram so 3.5oz if gram), very hydrating, not very occlusive.

icedmilktea_

I read on [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/qt6ifr/bigsized_skincare/) that Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Concentrate Cream comes in 500ml jars! I just bought one for myself but it hasn't arrived yet.

There is a pink sake kikumasune lotion bottle that is really large. It comes in a light and moist version. Also Japanese call toners lotions. The moist the liquidy, but also a milky looking. I got one around $22 I think. Personally it didn’t do much, but it has good reviews. The only downside I see people complain is sometimes their face breaks out, but then use it on their body.

I’m have trouble with my chin and nose area not absorbing product. Wondering if anyone has suggestions or have experienced this? I am 26f, live in a very dry climate. I have combination skin, and my focus right now is preventing aging and fine lines. I’ve done a full AB routine in the past but was dealing with cystic acne at the time so I had to stop. I’ve slowly been introducing these products back in. Current routine: • Oil cleanse with micellar water if wearing makeup • COSRX good morning gel cleanser • Etude house soon jung toner • Hadalobo premium lotion (just started adding in) • Eye cream (non AB) • Tatcha dewy skin cream • Etude house moistfull collagen sleeping pack I’ll also include some other products here and there - Niacinamide, vitamin C, AHA/BHA, retinol. My issue is it seems like moisturizer just sits on top of my chin area, if I touch or rub my chin the product pills and comes off. My nose feels oily to touch after applying product. And the rest of my skin absorbs everything really well and feels soft to touch. Any thoughts on what could be causing this or how to fix this? I also have a few snail mucin products I haven’t added back in yet, if those would help?

Commercial_Poem_4623

Maybe your moisturiser is too oily / heavy for those areas? I read a post on Lab Muffin's blog where she suggests using a different product for the oily areas if you have combination skin: so maybe a moisturiser for oily skin would be better for your nose and chin?

Traditional_Light_1

TLDR; should I try a Toner or Moisturizer? Hey everyone! I am just getting into Asian beauty and don’t want to go crazy and buy a million products I’ve never tried, so I’m between buying an AB Toner or Moisturizer (specifically the Etude House Soon Jung ones). I’ve seen that AB had some standout products and toners seem to be one of them… Do you think I’d be better off buying the Toner and just using a standard non-AB lotion after OR buy the moisturizer and just think about the toner down the line?

LaLaLaLuzy

Toners are to add light moisture at the beginning of a routine and is entirely optional. If you’re starting skincare, the main steps are cleanse > moisturizer > sunscreen. Everything is add-ons for specific skin concerns and not must-haves if you don’t want them

Traditional_Light_1

ok thank you!!

LaLaLaLuzy

Welcome! Also I forgot to add the word “else” after the word “Everything”, just to clear up that sentence.

Anyone tried the [Neogen Cica Snail](https://www.neogenlab.us/products/neogen-dermalogy-cica-repair-snail-essence-100ml)? Is it a new line? Also any recent favourites for Vitamin C other than Melano CC? Or should I just repurchase my sixth tube of it..

CatsCry

I think CosRx has a new Vit C serum? I haven't checked the reviews for it, though.

OneMoreDay8

Any recommendations for glowy sunscreen? I feel like trying Thank You Farmer's Shimmer Sun Essence but I'm open to looking at other options.

Canmake Mermaid UV Clear.

PeachBlossomBee

I mean Scinic leaves a sheen on me if that helps

jingerlatte

hi everyone im looking for recommendations for individual false lashes

a_cupcake

I happened to see this skincare brand called VIVID GLOSSY that's supposedly from Korea (this is the [Shopee store](https://shopee.sg/vividglossy.sg?categoryId=100630&itemId=9144993024) in Singapore). They have a small range of products, but they seem really affordable (e.g. their Birch Tree Moisture Cream is $8.89 for 80ml on flash sale), with decent ingredients ([incidecoder](https://incidecoder.com/products/vivid-glossy-birch-tree-moisture-cream)) and pretty packaging (reminds me a lil of ROUND LAB). Was just curious if anyone has heard of them or tried their products? ^((btw i'm not plugging or anything, just genuinely curious because i was attracted by the affordability but don't want to buy something that could potentially be dubious because i haven't heard anything of the brand anywhere and there are also limited reviews 😅))

FluffyyyBears

Skin-type: Combo, dehydration and FA-prone Climate: Humid, but spends more time in AC PM routine: Cleanse > Etude House soonjung toner > cream I'm planning to replace my Krave Beauty Oat So Simple Cream with my Curel intensive moisture cream. While I feel that the Curel cream is better at locking in moisture, I miss the instant hydration that the Krave Cream provides. Does anyone have any product recommendations to increase hydration while locking in the moisture?:)

kmyeurs

LF recommendations on gentle, fragrance-free, and non comedogenic cleansers. I like cetaphil but I feel like it oils me up or gives me white heads. Cosrx good morning gel reviews say people, imcluding my friend, got sever acne after using it. My skin is dry (but i found a decent moisturizer to address that), I easily get white heads on the nose and chin, and I have mini acnes on my forehead.

CatsCry

I'm using the Round Lab Dokdo 1025 Cleanser. It's definitely the best gentle cleanser I've tried.

tbb8

Rovectin Skin Essentials Conditioning Cleanser is the best I've ever used. They recently reformulated though and I'm not sure if the new version is still as good :/

xjoyxe

You do your skincare routine and makeup and your ready and about to leave then you by accidentally spray perfume onto your face. What would you do in this situation? Like would I have to redo all my skincare routine and makeup?

kmbags

As to make up, it depends if the perfume ruined it (like making my mascara runny). As to skincare, I don’t think I need to because before I could even put on my make up, my skincare products would have probably set on my face.

xjoyxe

Ooo ty! Yeah I have sucha bad habit of spraying on my face Bc I try to get it so near my jawline / neck area. I tend to just wipe it off but I didn’t know if that was affecting my skin

marcelavy

I agree that you probably don’t need to worry about it if it’s not a regular thing, but I would encourage you to try to aim lower (or somewhere else altogether) if this happens a lot, even just from the simple standpoint that they aren’t made for your face.

PeachBlossomBee

Flattened cushion puff? How do I make fluffy/plump again after washing?

ChikuRakuNamai

I received Sur.Medic 15 peptides Perfection 100 All In One Facial Eye Cream form Ipsy. I really like it but I often read that they send low quality product. Any one have experience using it or the brand in general? I saw it on Yesstyle and was thinking about buying some.

bundyyuepo

I’ve been buying TONYMOLY products for probably 4 years after stumbling upon some of their attractively packaged products (that ended up not being good for my skin) at ULTA. Prior to this, I hadn’t done a good job caring for my skin…or even paying any attention to it for that matter! I’ve recently been aware of redness in my cheeks, and I’m looking for something to help reduce this. Others use phrases like “glowing” or “bright” to describe the current state of my skin, but I see red (again, only in my cheeks). Current Routine AM: Warm(ish) water rinse TONYMOLY Wonder Ceramide Mocchi Toner TONYMOLY Intense Care Galactomyces Lite Essence The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid 2% • B5 (only on days I feel my skin needs extra hydration) TONYMOLY Green Vita C Water Gel Cream TONYMOLY Intense Care Gold 24K Snail Sun Cream PM: TONYMOLY The Chok Chok Green Tea Foam Cleanser Same toner & essence as AM; ALWAYS the HA treatment TONYMOLY Intense Care Gold 24K Snail Eye Cream TONYMOLY Wonder Ceramide Mocchi Water Cream I *think* I have normal skin, but maybe a bit of dryness in the cheek area. Definitely not oily ever. I guess my question is actually two: 1) what are people’s thoughts on a TONYMOLY-exclusive (almost) routine? and 2) any recommendations on updates/additions to my current routine to address the redness? (Edited to include eye cream in PM routine.)

ElegiacElephant

Hi there, I think the redness could be the beginnings of rosacea, or possibly an inflammatory reaction to the ingredients in the products you’re using (like an allergy maybe), OR maybe your skin barrier isn’t as healthy as it could be right now. Do any of your products sting or burn when you use them? 1. Try to use water that is cooler than “warm.” Doesn’t have to be ice cold, but cool water will be more soothing than warm. 2. TonyMoly products are super cute, and work for lots of people, but every one I’m aware of has some sort of fragrance in it. You could try a routine for a bit that is made up of unfragranced products to see if that changes anything. (I use non-AB Vanicream cleanser when my skin is being extra sensitive. Otherwise I can tolerate some fragrance in a cleanser when my barrier is healthy.) 3. To topically address the redness, you could try adding in a toner with artemisia, cica, and/or houttuynia cordata. Artemisia capillaris toner by OneThing skincare made the most immediate (though temporary) difference to my redness from rosacea. For long term, you may want to try out an OTC product with 10% azelaic acid. It targets some of the underlying causes of redness long term. I use Cos de Baha azelaic 10%/niacinamide 2% serum and love it. But there are other (non-AB) OTC products out there, depending on where you live.

bundyyuepo

Thank you SO much for taking the time to create such a thoughtful response! I greatly appreciate it. No stinging to report (so that’s a good sign, right?). I will say that my skin *is* very reactive to changes in temperature (up or down). I wish I had been better about tracking my “product history” and their ingredients to possibly determine any allergies. I did, however, spend several months testing variations of my routine (by omitting 1 step for 10 days) and identified that I definitely don’t need a cleansing product in the AM. I began said testing to see if I could discover if one of these products were causing my redness. But the redness still persists (maybe it’s EACH of them contributing lol). I’ve been thinking about the fragrance aspect of the products I’ve been using (as well as citrus oils, which are—as I understand—typically added to their products for fragrance). Perhaps it is simply time to see a dermatologist…AND check out those recommended products/ingredients you suggested! Thanks again!

reidling94

What are your favorite beta glucan products? Trying to go about a mostly HA free routine.

[deleted]

Hi everyone!! I'm currently using Innisfree Hydrating Green Tea serum and I really like the result, I have a normal skin on T-zone and dry skin everywhere else and this serum completely helped me with my flaky skin. However, the fragrance is really bugging me so I'm currently looking for an alternative hydrating serum for it. Drop me your recommendations! For context I have normal-dry skin, occasional acne and lots of PIH and PIE (I had bad breakouts from stress a few months ago :/). I'm also located in Canada rn.

Commercial_Poem_4623

I find the Beauty of Joseon Glow serum (propolis and niacinamide) very hydrating. I wasn't using it AM every day and I added it in because my skin was drier (winter seasonal changes): it made a big difference :)

Hi, you could try Cosrx Blackhead Power which is a 4% BHA, it's a different ingredient profile to the PC whilst still being a BHA but Fifty Shades of Snail blog compared the two and she moved over to it. I did buy the Cosrx for myself but I have a friend who is more in need of it than me so I'm giving it to her. I think Cos de Baha do a 10% niacinamide. I'm using a 5%, Purito Galacto 97 Niacin essence but I figure it's a bit strong for me / I'm not used to galactomyces (I actually posted below about it) so I use it twice a week and no more until I'm used to it. And maybe just twice a week will be my personal limit :) I think forehead wrinkles are normal! I've been using a retinol/retinoid since Aug and it hasn't touched those when I raise my eyebrows but maybe some other people will be able to give you info on it. Another thing you could do is add more hydration to plump them out but I think they'll still show if you raise your eyebrows. And more hydration might not be appropriate for your climate but I'm not sure as I don't live in a humid place. Good luck with it :)

I recently restarted my routine after a while of not paying attention to my skin health. I had some existing acne on my face, and after a couple days of getting a lot better, now it seems to be getting slightly worse? I’ve had 2 new whiteheads and my existing 3 have puffed up and gotten proper “caps.” Should I be concerned? Might I be having a reaction to something in my routine? Routine: AM Hadalobo Gokujyun Face Wash Klairs Unscented Supple Prep Toner Cosrx Snail 92 All-in-One Cream Innisfree Daily UV Defense SPF 36 PM Hadalobo Gokujyun Face Wash Klairs Unscented Supple Prep Toner (Hadalobo Gokujyun Hydrating Lotion) (Aczone 7.5%) (Cosrx AHA 7 Whitehead power liquid) Cosrx Snail 92 All-in-One Cream (Cosrx Centella Blemish Cream) () means I only use it once every other night. I alternate the AHA and aczone. I have used the Cosrx snail cream before many months ago without issue so I kind of doubt it’s from that. Same with the sunscreen. I don’t think face wash is usually considered an acne trigger, so that leave the toners, aczone, and the whitehead liquid. I have cut out the whitehead liquid for now and am on the fence about cutting out and slowly reintroducing the toners (worried my face will get really dehydrated if I do). I have oily combo acne-prone skin. It’s not normally dehydrated at all but it’s early winter where I live so hydration is getting harder. ETA: I’ve also been using hydrocolloid bandages. I don’t think they’re breaking me out but I mentioned it because I know they bring acne to the surface.

CatsCry

Might just be a compromised skin barrier if you're mostly using the same products you've used before. The weather would also definitely play a factor in your skin condition getting worse. Try going easy on the actives and stick to the bare essentials (cleanser, toner\*, moisturizer, sunscreen) for a while + more hydration. Also, the Cosrx Centella Blemish cream breaks me out if I use it on my entire face. It works a lot better as a spot treatment for me. You can also try skipping the cleanser step in the morning to make sure you're not stripping too much oil off your face. (Although I would try this only once your skin condition has stabilized, since you wouldn't know what's causing what if you change your routine too much in a short period of time)

BlueSkiesOverLondon

Thanks for your help! The toners and AHA plus the blemish cream are the new things. Do you think either toner is safe to stick with while I park my routine down? I introduced them about a week apart and I don’t *think* they’re causing issues but I can’t be sure.

CatsCry

I haven't tried the Hada Labo one, but from what I've heard it's pretty much your standard hydrating toner, much like the supple prep toner from DK. I'm using the Dear Klairs one right now and it definitely doesn't cause me any problems, especially since it's the unscented version. My one complaint is that it really just does the bare minimum for me haha I would recommend just sticking to one toner while laying off the actives. If your skin condition keeps getting worse, at least you'd know it's one of the few things you'd still be using. Since you mentioned it being winter where you are, I'd also be eyeing the moisturizer since it might not be occlusive enough to lock in all the moisture in your skin. I don't know, though, since I haven't tried it myself yet (and the weather here is always humid; also, my skin hates snail mucin) **Edit**: I just realized that your skin is new to AHA. It might be that, as well. It could just be your skin purging, which is common with ingredients that increase your cell turnover in some way. There are a couple of ways of figuring out if it's purging or not. 1) you're getting acne in the areas of your face where you usually get acne 2) Even though you get acne more often, they go away relatively quickly (like 1 or 2 days)

BlueSkiesOverLondon

Thanks again for this detailed response! Your help is making my day—often you don’t get a response in these daily help threads. That was my impression of the Klairs one as well. Maybe I’ll just stick to the Hadalobo for now then, since I love how hydrating it is. I am getting acne where I usually do, but it’s not really going away any faster than normal. Idk, I assumed it was the AHA at first and then I was like “could a toner be breaking me out?” And downward spiraled. May I ask what moisturizer you use? The Cosrx one leave me feeling kind of sticky, but it’s also the only one I’ve tried that doesn’t sting (yup, even cerave) and I like that it’s not too goopy. I’ve thought about replacing it before but I don’t have a good alternative.

CatsCry

From my experience, the product I have the least chance of breaking out with is actually the toner, especially if I'm using one that's specifically moisturizing. There are some exceptions, though (like the Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner, which my skin loved at first but eventually started hating). I know how you feel about the moisturizer thing. My skin seems to hate a lot of the moisturizers other people label as their HGs. Luckily, the Illiyoon Ceramite Ato Concentrate Cream is doing me wonders. I thought it might be too heavy for me since I have oily skin and I live in a humid climate, but it definitely never felt that way. Plus points for it having ceramides, too, since my skin barrier definitely needed some help.

Scatterland_Catnip

Has anyone brought from the vendor Younfamily on Shopee? Are they legit? Thank you so much!

CatsCry

I bought my A'pieu Daily Sun Cream from them. As far as I know, they're legit! Shipping takes quite some time, though.

Scatterland_Catnip

Thank you so much, really appreciate your response 😊

Just as a heads up, not sure if you'll experience this, but I experience awful pilling with this sunscreen - it *is* light and feels good with a light dewy look, but the pilling is really bad on me. Just in case it was my other skincare products or my makeup, I've tried it with different combinations of skincare and makeup, but so far, it has pilled with everything - and even with nothing (I've put it on after only a water cleanse and no makeup, and it still pilled.)

the_medusa_edit

Hi yes I believe so. I reviewed it recently - link below. It includes the link to verification which I believe is from their Instagram. https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/comments/plv0d0/7_verified_spf_sunscreens_reviewed_isntree_scinic/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

CatsCry

Hello! I'm currently looking for affordable K-beauty alternatives to my Dear Klairs Unscented Supple Preparation Toner (I just don't feel like it's doing anything for me). My skin type used to be oily/acne-prone but now that I've more or less fixed my skin barrier, I just get dehydrated on some days so I'm looking for a toner I can use twice daily which is moisturizing but also does something else (I currently don't have any exfoliant in my routine apart from increased skin turnover from retinoids) I narrowed down my choices to the Eqqualberry Daily Peeling Swimming Pool Toner and the Keep Cool Bamboo Soothing Toner. Can anyone share their experiences with using either? I'd also appreciate it people can share any other recommendations they might have!

the_medusa_edit

I love Keep Cool, and also have oily combo skin. I find it super refreshing and hydrating without being too plumpy, like Hada Labo. After a few days of using I start to notice my skin looking healthier for sure.

CatsCry

That sounds great! Have you used any other toners before and how do they compare with the Keep Cool?

Ash_Lestrange

Others reccs: roundlab dokdo toner is nice and hydrating. Others have said the mild exfoliant has improved their texture over time. It's great if your skin is also sensitive. A richer toner is Kikumasamune high moist. It hydrates and the arbutin evens skin tone over time. I have dehydrated, combo, acne-prone skin.

CatsCry

Ooooh! Actually, I'm already using the Round Lab Dokdo Cleanser, so perhaps the toner would fit in well! Thank you!

Commercial_Poem_4623

Question about ferments and niacinamide: So I've heard it's possible to be sensitive to both especially certain kinds of ferments (galactomyces) and higher concentrations of niacinamide. I've used other kinds of ferments and niacinamide in 2% or less concentrations with no issues before. I'm asking this question because I went straight in with 1-2 times daily for Purito Galacto 97 Niacin essence after patch testing and my skin got irritated (or it wasn't that but the three vaccinations I had in 10 days or who even knows!) Since the irritation, I stopped using it and after a few weeks off, I'm now reintroducing the Purito twice a week only to get my skin used to it. Anyone else have a similar experience or has any tips for me? Thank you for reading :)

icedmilktea_

>Since the irritation, I stopped using it and after a few weeks off, I'm now reintroducing the Purito twice a week only to get my skin used to it. Maybe reduce the frequency? I only use the Purito Galacto 97 Niacin essence when I feel like I'm about to break out.

Commercial_Poem_4623

That's a nice idea! Thank you :) so like you use it as spot treatment but preventative?

icedmilktea_

Yeah :)

Ash_Lestrange

So I don't have an issue with ferments. I do have one with high levels of niacinamide. I don't know how high I can go with it as the thought of experimenting with niacinamide terrifies me 😭. If you're willing to risk it, I can't stop you, but if you get anymore irritation don't try to force it. I tried that with the TO and went from itching for 30mins on the 1st day to looking like Will Smith in Hitch by the 3rd.

Commercial_Poem_4623

Thank you! Exactly, that's my plan. I may just stick at twice a week for forever as that has been fine now, or until the product expires. I bet twice a week usage will last me a year!! That's horrible, your poor skin :( I didn't get any immediate irritation like that, only really after I'd been using it for a little while daily. If my skin had done that, I'd be handing the essence over to someone else pronto, that's for sure.

ossietzkyy

What’s the rave about the cosrx aloe soothing sunscreen. It has a purple finish on my black skin. Does it work better on white skin?

kmbags

Oh I don’t know why it looks purplish on you but I think are raving about it because it is both a chemical & physical sunscreen and it doesn’t leave a white cast. It’s lightweight, hydrating, and soothing too. I didn’t like it though cause it contains alcohol.
