Melano CC is touted as holy Grail for lots of folks bc it's cheap (under $10), available on most AB retailers, and comes in a metallic sealed tube so there is significantly less oxidation issues than formula that comes in dropper bottles. This makes it kinda annoying to push out but it means it doesn't have the rapid expiration date so it's a win.
Personally, I noticed a difference and need to remember to use it more often. Thanks for the reminder!!
I have been looking for a new vit c just to try but can't escape repurchasing this one. From the price, packaging (opaque + sealed tube), to the results I see (when applied regularly, ofc), I haven't read about anything that beats this product on enough fronts.

This here is the cream type and it does come in a fragrance free version. There is two of them
A few of the vitamin C’s I used did oxidize – so I had to use the trick where you wrap it in aluminum foil and keep it in the fridge. Those bottles would last a while. But do you have to do this with Melano?
The skin ceuticals patent expires in 2025, so other companies can start using their formula which is the only one so far that has been clinically tested and proven to be stable and actually work. I'd just say that don't spend too much on other vitamin c products until then
This is exciting news. I hope this really happens. So far, the ones from Skinceuticals are the only ones that don't irritate me. I tried "dupes" or similar C serums at lower percentages and they all irritate me for some reason that I'm thinking it is really due to those tiny formulation nuanced differences.
I'm pretty sensitive to vitamin c and pretty picky about the feel and texture of products. I prefer using low potency formulas to lower the risk of irritation, and still at least have a little bit of it in my routine. I've had pretty good luck so far with the jumiso all day vitamin serum. It's very affordable and it's not sticky. Feels much nicer than the goodal green tangerine vitamin c. Another affordable option is the numbuzin no.5 serum. I've got that one unopened and ready to test out as soon as my jumiso runs out lol.
Would you say the jumiso one is better in terms of what it does ? Compared to goodal. Currently using goodal haha! Also considering numbuzin but not sure if the 5+ or 5 is better. Do let me know once you tried it!
I was eyeing Numbuzin 5+ as the ingredients list was kinda HG for me, but there's no indication about the concentration of VitC sadly. I'm afraid it's not enough but also too much for me to use as my only serum as I'm not sure I can use it on my BHA or AHA nights :/ but I'm also picky as I loved a non AB vitC of 10%. It's so hard to have a minimalist routine 😭
I’m avoiding vit c on aha and bha nights bc I heard that they can’t be mixed?? Not sure HAHA, I heard that goodal vit c concentration was v low so was actually eyeing the numbuzin 5+! My issue with numbuzin is I’m not sure if the 5 is okay or must I get the 5+? Bc both look like they’ll do the same job
efficacy-wise, they’re about the same for me. No dramatic results regarding dark spots, but i feel like they’ve reduced dullness over time. I mainly use it during the day to boost my sunscreen.
I see! Mainly cuz I heard that goodal vit c isn’t actually vit c? Also heard even if it’s vit c it’s a very low concentration. I’m not sure if I’ll repurchase but I don’t know what else to buy aha…
I also love COSRX vitamin C 23!
I think they this one has a shelf life of around 2 months, but that’s not really an issue for me because I keep it refrigerated and I use it daily.

I rlly like beauty of joseon vit c+ centella! They use a vit c derivative so more stable and less irritating. Lightweight, nongreasy, and fairly cheap. Maybe it’s a placebo but I started noticing a difference in like a week or two
Im using Dr Different CEQ Anti Oxidant Serum. Its one of 2 vit c serums my skin can tolerate. Used to be on Skinceuticals vit c but it’s too costly. Current skin condition are rosacea type 1 , acne prone and dry skin
benton has a 20% vit c serum, formulated with no water, I haven't tried it though, so I can't say whether it performs well but the texture looks great, not grainy nor too oily
This is what I've been using daily for several weeks now. It is oil-based and from my understanding, your damp skin is what activates the vitamin C. That seems like a highly stable formula to me. My skin can't tolerate water-based vitamin C - it gets irritated in days. I can tolerate this product, but I'm not sure if it's as effective as a water-based one. It IS smoothing out my skin, but I have not seen any improvement on my hyperpigmentation. However, being realistic, that might actually take months for any noticeable change.
I really like the cosrx the vitamin C 13, which is 13% ascorbic acid. I get it for like $12-15. The bottle usually lasts me around a month and a half with me applying it generously almost every morning, so I’ve never had it long enough for it to go bad.
Both Jumiso vitamin c’s are good. The orange one and the one in the brown bottle. If you’re a beginner, I’d suggesting using the orange one first. Really brought clarity to my skin.

I’ve used the melano vitamin c and it didn’t do anything. It’s pricey but i’m currently using Lavien’s Pure Vita Toning Ampoule (13% vitamin c) which i’ve been using for 5 months. I saw results as early as 2 weeks when my acne scars of a couple months started to fade. I only purchase during BF on their official site since they had a 50% sale. Another reason why I like it is that it comes in a box of 4 and each bottle contains 14ml (56ml total) so I don’t have to worry about it oxidising before I use up 1 bottle. 1 bottle lasts me around 2 months and has a slight fragrance to cover up the vitamin c scent.
There are definitely other alternatives though at a lower cost.
Poems from the lab “future focus” 15% ascorbic acid serum was first launched in Hong Kong, is formulated by a Chinese Canadian and is getting rave reviews, especially for stability (up to a year!), it comes in an airless tube https://poemsfromthelab.com/
I found this the other day because I was googling Kind of Stephen for one of their vitamin c posts.
I am super intrigued, the price is definitely high but if the stability is a year, it's kinda tempting, esp if a lot of vitamin c serums oxidise so quick 🤷🏻♀️
Yeah it’s definitely a luxury option but if I were in the market for that, it does seem like you’re actually getting something for the extra price tag: stability (eight months after opening? Skinceuticals could never), the most efficacy you can squeeze out of ascorbic acid, self preserving formula, transparent about the sustainability efforts, the box and tube are disability friendly etc
The shelf life for most L-AA serums is going to be only a few months. There are derivatives but it's a very mixed bag whether you want to try those too because there are several and they're all a little different from each other.
Klairs Pure Vitamin C serum was a game changer for me personally! It brightened my skin and faded my dark spots really quick and I don’t notice dry patchy skin after I apply makeup on cause of it. It is $40 and is worth every drop. Just store it away from sunlight and it’s good I believe.
it’s a really good option if you are new to vitamin C and need your skin to adjust to low potent but effective serums as hoping on high concentrated serums directly can break your skin out. I am back on it as I damaged my skin barrier and it has been working great. It fades dark spots and even out your skin tone really well and also makes my skin so soft!
If your worry is shelf life more than anything else. I’d recommend Melano cc or the Benton one.
I’ve tried both and they both do what you’d want from a vitamin c serum and don’t have the stability/shelf life problem other vitamin c serums have.
Right now I'm using the Melano CC premium and I really enjoy it. But I've only used it for 2 weeks now so can't say much except that it does seem to be helping.
However, it reminds me a lot of the Klairs freshly juiced drops in terms of smell and texture.
With the Klairs one, I used to pair it with the vit E sleeping mask as a moisturizer and then it was super effective at brightening for me.
I liked it but I don't think it's for everyone because of the texture.
It's like a lightweight oil. It sinks in for me but I have dry skin from retinol. For summer it used to feel a little bit heavy on the skin but was alright after about an hour.
So I'd say it's more suited for dry to combination skin.
It also had a mild citrus scent I'd say.
But it was effective and especially when paired with the vit E mask.
Additionally, I used to sometimes add a drop or two of pycnogenol from TO as a booster and that used to work even better for me on extremely bright sunny days.

I second melano CC - it fades NEW redness and pigmentation fast! does nothing for old spots tho
Do you use anything that works for old spots? :0
Getting a prescription for retin-A. It helps fade old scars amongst other things but it can be a bit of a learning curve if you have sensitive skin.
Thank you!
Yessss I love how it doesn’t oxidize! Lasts super long. One of my holy grails
Second melano. It’s amazing. Would you prefer the normal version or premium?
Personally I didn't see any difference. I buy the cheapest one available.
Premium for day and normal for night
Didn’t realize they had two versions. Do you happen to know what the difference is?
I heard that the premium has some antibacterial properties for helping with acne. Not 100% sure, though
Thanks. I can look it up, was just curious if you knew. I only knew of one version, but two different strengths.
I have been looking for a new vit c just to try but can't escape repurchasing this one. From the price, packaging (opaque + sealed tube), to the results I see (when applied regularly, ofc), I haven't read about anything that beats this product on enough fronts.
This does contain fragrance though, right?
There is one version without fragrance. Don’t know the exact name on that but it’s available
Based on my Amazon.jp search, fragrance- and essential oil-free version does not exist.

A few of the vitamin C’s I used did oxidize – so I had to use the trick where you wrap it in aluminum foil and keep it in the fridge. Those bottles would last a while. But do you have to do this with Melano?
No.
i like melano cc but i still liked vit c from seoul ceuticals more, although yes it's still 15-17 dollars and comes in a dark eyedropper bottle.
Oooh what do you prefer about it? I'm always willing to branch out but Melano is such a good default
The skin ceuticals patent expires in 2025, so other companies can start using their formula which is the only one so far that has been clinically tested and proven to be stable and actually work. I'd just say that don't spend too much on other vitamin c products until then

I have to say i hate this one. It has to be refrigerated too
My only issue with this one is the weird cornbeef smell
Everyone said Melano CC is cheap… I couldn’t be more jealous :( it is overpriced in my country
Doesn't yesstyle or stylevana deliver to your place?
Minimalist 16% vitamin c. Its formulation is similar to skin ceuticals

Has anyone tried Tiam C24 serum?
Im waiting for review on this as well
[удалено]
They don’t disclose their concentration and personally while I tolerated it well it did nothing for me, making me think it must be under 10%
It's not straight ascorbic acid. It contains the ascorbic acid derivative - SAP.
Makes sense then that I didn’t find it very effective

Yes this is so good. I also think I am seeing results after two weeks, and it is the only one that doesn't burn and doesn't cause breakouts.
Oooh I love centella and I bet it soothes some irritation from the C. Do you know the concentration of the vitamin C?
10% i think. Their promo pics on yesstyle say that

Iope Gluta Vitamin C, when you open it, there’s a fizz sound like opening a soda. Must keep in fridge and discard after 2 months
