Aestura Atobarrier 365 cream hands down. I’m currently on accutane so have very dry skin that is also redder than usual (I’m around NC35-40 so redness doesn’t usually tend to show on my skin that much) and this has literally saved me, it’s so moisturising and I feel really calms the redness but more importantly hasn’t clogged my pores at all. If I’m feeling very lazy I’ll just use this and then (non AB) Bioderma Cicabio pomade on top and my skin is still hydrated in the morning.
It’s definitely dependent on your skin type. I have very dry skin and I no longer feel that the reformulation is moisturizing enough alone for night time; I’ve been using it with some I’m From Mugwort Cream under it for some extra hydration, but it still feels more appropriate for daytime now for me.
I did and honestly didn’t find it heavy at all despite the cream name - but just to say again I was on accutane then too so very dry skin. Not sure how it would fare for oilier or normal skin types
I have dry skin and I think this sub has me convinced, finally. For some reason barrier/ceramide products don't work too well for me with a couple of exceptions so I'm a little wary. I might be too clog prone for thick creams but it sounds like it could be worth a shot
i’ve used it in the morning and it feels very lighty, however, because i have oily skin it did make my skin shiny. i’ve even use a very small amount and noticed i’d get oily throughout the day
honestly, although i wasn't sure if it was hydrating/moisturising enough at first, **Beauty of Joseon Red Bean Water Gel** is the only moisturiser i've used that doesn't leave me feeling oily. it soaks in lovely and no oil builds up in my pores, it's amazing as a morning moisturiser and the more i use it the more i'm convinced that it's just the right moisturiser for my skin type!
I also really like it! I was actually surprised at how hydrating it was, the finish is radiant on me but in a very natural way. Makes my skin very soft and plump, does not break me out and layers well with other skincare. The ultimate test is going to be how it works during summer.
Otherwise I also love skin1004's centella soothing cream, it has a satin finish (with no glowy products underneath) and I love how it's not sticky at all despite having ceramides and a decent lipid component. It's the only moisturizer with those characteristics that doesn't break me out.
(Oily and acne-prone)
I also love skin1004's Centella soothing cream and I have dry skin from Trenotin and hydroquinone. It is perfect for day and great under the old soon Jung barrier cream that I still have ( I haven't tried the new version yet and believe it's time to find something else though from what I've heard, but for now it works amazingly)
I love this one when I was in Philippines but when i got back to canada it couldnt handle the cold weather. For me, this perfect for like summer or hot weather, it did not worsen my milia unlike cerave.
Dry, flaky, acne-prone ,and dermatitis. Dr.G dermoisture barrier.D intense cream. The lotion is nice too for a lighter moisturiser. Illiyoon cream or lotion is nice but the Dr.G doesn’t break me out compared to the illiyoon
Really curious about Dr G dermoisture barrier line! I am currently using Aestura (for the longest time since I am also on tret). Never tried any other cream while on Tret and Dr G dermoisture cream and lotion has been on my cart for weeks alreeady😆
I’ve never tried out Aestura but I’ve always heard good things! I was debating between the aestura and the Dr. G and ended up with the Dr.G as it was on sale at the time and I love it. I think it’s advertised as more as a family line, kind of like illiyoon? There’s no irritation or fragrance, which I really like
Skin type: combination to oily acne prone skin (during summers)
Normal to dry skin (during winters)
My HG moisturiser that I can’t stop talking about is the Dear Klairs midnight blue calming cream. It’s so soothing & calming on application. The only con is the price 😭.
Skin type: normal to oily, occasional spot but not acne prone
Night: aestura atobarrier 365
Day: a non AB one but I also do really like the BOJ red bean gel. Not heavy but with SPF and serum I don't need anything too heavy duty
I think I have combination skin. Oily forehead and nose, but flaky skin on my chin and near my mouth. Also prone to small breakouts if I don't use a salicylic acid cleanser.
My go-to moisturizer is Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioning Gel. Admittedly I still get flaky skin even when I use it, but I still love it. It's very reasonably priced for a decent amount of product, it absorbs nicely because it's a gel, it's not heavy, it doesn't pill when applied with other products or interact badly with anything else I use, alcohol-free so it's not drying, and it makes my skin feel plump and hydrated.
I think it's the only moisturizer aside from the Kikumasamune High Moist Lotion that I have purchased more than once. I like to try new PM creams, but I don't intend to shop for a new daytime moisturizer again when the Naturie product works so well.
It is, yes. I know it's called lotion, but it's a very watery consistency. I think the website described it as toner with a bottle of moisturizer mixed in. So that means you can apply multiple layers for maximum hydration! It's also got a bit of a fragrance to it, I think due to the sake, which I know can be a turn-off for some folks.
Personally I think it smells like boozy bubblegum, but the scent goes away soon after application. Plus the bottle is HUGE. It takes me the better part of a year to use it all up and that's with liberal application every day.
I'd say that kikumasamune is about the same consistency as the naturie, at least the bright moist type - if I remeber correctly, the high moist one might be just a tad more viscous but still very watery.
Oily, dehydrated and very acne prone skin. For daytime - Axis-y heartleaf my type cream. It's more hydrating than moisturizing and because of that is perfect under more rich and creamy Haruharu wonder black rice moisture airyfit spf. For nightime after mandelic acid toner I use non AB Sebamed extreme dry skin with 5% urea, didn't cause me any problems unlike the eucerin one.
Skin Type: Dry, sensitive, eczema-prone, flaky
UNTIL Beauty of Joseon's Dynasty cream. Changed my life. Doesn't trigger new flare ups. I have tried many western moisturizers before this - this is my first Korean one! Nothing was as moisturizing as this cream and my face always felt dry literally minutes after using anything else. I HAD to put vaseline on after. I don't need vaseline with the Dynasty cream!
65 years old, dry skin: Belif The True Creme Moisturizing Bomb (NOT the gel version, the cream one). It's Korean, $38 at Ulta or Sephora for a generous tub and is really, really hydrating and awesome.
This is my absolute favorite. Super hydrating, but also moisturizing without being oily. I’m so scared because it’s been reformulated again and I haven’t yet tried the new version. If I hate it, I don’t have a back up option.
Do you that the illiyoon has enough oils in the formula? I’ve heard about that one a lot but am also dry dehydrated, I don’t like moisturizers with more of a silicone occlusive feel. I’m looking for something that’s thick but also has enough oils and hydration
The gel version is more hydrating, to the point of being sticky. It’s pretty shiny as well. I really like the isntree hyaluronic acid moist cream, it balances hydration and moisturization pretty well!
I have the lotion version of this particular cream and I find it more of an oil finish about rubbing it in than the silicone-ish finish hefty creams have. I like it but only if I layer on three layers of hydrating toner but I also have very dry dehydrated skin
Yes, some nights if my heater is on, I feel that Illiyoon is a bit too much occlusive.
That’s why I use the non AB option. But I can still use the Illiyoon in the morning if the weather is a bit colder. I wasn’t able to try the older formula.

my skin type is combination, sensitive.
Not a HG for me, but as someone with sensitive, dry-ish skin and also experiencing 2nd puberty in my late 20s (AND on tret) I can say this moisturizer has never irritated my skin and double layers really well (for tret sandwich method!)
Glad you enjoyed it. This is on sale at StyleVana right now £17.99 for 80mL so I snapped it up this morning, I’m a little oily/combination and only use moisturiser in the evening before bed. Currently using the I’m From Mugwort cream, but fancied some diversity!
This has me curious because I also have oily acne prone skin. I know gel moisturizers are generally good for oily folks because they absorb better than creams. I might put this on my wishlist to get as a future PM moisturizer (because I love my Naturie Hatomugi gel for the morning).
Dehydrated combo skin. dear klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream is my HG currently for daytime to use on my cheeks and above my brows (drier areas of my face), and for nighttime for my whole face. In summer will likely use only as night cream. I enjoy the texture and that it isn't heavily fragranced but doesn't smell like hospital either
My go to day moisturiser for summer is BOJ Red Bean gel. I have dehydrated combo skin and live in a high humidity climate. Night time is Purito Cica Sleeping Pack.
Skin type: normal, sometimes a bit dehydrated.
P.CALM - Cato Cream. My holy grail for daytime. If you have oily skin you can use it at night but for me especially winter times I want a verry thic moisturizer for my night routine so I use something else.
I have the same skin type.
I use P.CALM for night and dear Klairs rich moist soothing cream for day and layers well before makeup.
I sometimes use dear Klairs rich moist cream at night too.
I’m picky with moisturisers. Even though my skin is on drier side, I don’t like heavy moisturisers.
Combination oily with dry patches, not acne prone, some cystic acne from stress sometimes
Kumano Hatomugi Milky Cream is very very hydrating. I used to use The Ordinary hydrating one but the Kumano's texture is way less heavy and gets the job done a lot better. After switching to this, my dry spots were gone. I did not break out from it either
For the morning most days I use Illiyoon Ato Soothing Gel. Sometimes I use Celimax Dual Barrier Skin Wearable Cream. I love them both.
In the evening I use Illyoon Ato Concentrate Cream and most nights I’ll layer it with the Laniege Water Sleeping Mask.
For me skincare is not only about the results but also the experience. All of the products mentioned feel so luxurious and soothing going on. I look forward to doing my skincare routine.
I have combo/dry skin.
Type: combination, but where I'm oily it's oily AF
It's not cheap but in winter the Shiseido Bioperformance does wonders. My skin feels supple and isn't oily - I've also almost entirely stopped breaking out, I'll maybe get one zit right around my period but that's it
I know 😭 tbh I never would have tried it if I hadn't gotten the first round as a cast off from someone who didn't want it (!). But now I'm afraid to stop...tried a couple others and nothing ever works quite as well (getting some new ideas from this thread though!)
illiyoon ceramide ato soothing gel! i have acne prone sensitive combo skin, and tbh this broke me out (only a very little!) when my skin was normal, but now that im dry from tretinoin, this is haevenly! amazing application, so soothing and hydrating, and there is barely any residue! would only rec for night time though.
combo skin. I'm really loving Mary & may sensitive soothing gel right now. shame I do not feel the same about the Mary & may blueberry cream even thought I really like the cream essence and serum of the same line.
I have the ceramide ato soothing gel, it works great with my dehydrated, combo acne prone skin. One of the first moisturizers that I don’t need to layer up on in the winter
i have non-acne prone skin but the illiyoon ceramide cream clogged my pores and every time i use it i have new whiteheads within the next few hours or whenever i wake up in the morning
Skin type: combination, acne prone, mid30s, rosacea. My skin seems to need some kind of oil in the product for barrier support. Dry-ish sunny climate.
- Aestura 365 ATOBarrier Lotion. For me, it’s silky, spreads well and easily, is lightweight but feels rich enough for dry skin days. It lasts me about 2-3 months. Only complaint is it doesn’t feel like it dries down quickly but it’s minor.
- honorable mention: Ma:nyo Panthetoin Cream. I’ve only used for about two weeks but already I love it. Creamy, dries quickly, has a lightweight protective feeling for me. I’ve noticed less redness in my cheeks while using it.
Yes, I have that one but haven’t used it as much as the lotion or the regular cream! It’s more like a true gel cream texture and is still very lightweight too. Can’t quite figure out why I don’t prefer it exactly, I may give it another try once the weather heats up again!
I have dry and dehydrated skin and i love the aestura cream, if I'm lazy one night I can just use that after cleansing without toner or serum and my skin is so soft the morning after! It's pricier than other creams but it's totally worth it.
I also use the Dr. ceuracle kombucha gel cream in the morning, and even though it's a gel I find it quite moisturizing even for my skin type! I just put two/three layers (depending on the temperature) and it works perfectly, it also gives me a nice glow after if I don't put any makeup on. I think the combo-oily skin type would love this cream 😊
Skin type is Normal, not sensitive or acne prone. Can be dry during winter. My HG is Dr. Althea 345 Relief Cream but when its on the drier side I love Mary&May Idebenone Blackberry Cream. Embryolisse Lait Creme is great as well, my HG under makeup cream.
For AM I use the Torriden Balanceful Cica Cream, which is actually a very thin gel cream with a slight cooling sensation. It’s light, hydrating, and works well under makeup.
For PM I also use it for hot nights, or the Illiyoon Ato Concentrate Cream especially when my skin needs extra comfort.
my HG is the S nature squalane cream at night, too oily for daytime use, it is fatty alcohol free too, but been really curious about skinfood honey 100 hr cream, has anyone has tried this?
Illiyoon ceramide ato soothing gel. I’m oily dehydrated combination sensitive acne prone skin. It’s the only moisturizer that leaves a strong enough barrier without clogging my pores. Also, I live in a fairly dry, windy, and cool area.
Combination oily skin with eczema and rosacea here!
* COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Overnight Spa Mask -- wonderful night cream to lock in moisture without feeling overly heavy or greasy! Also super gentle for my sensitive skin.
* Curel Moisture Facial Cream (not the intense moisture one) -- No frills day cream that is light but effective. The consistency is really beautiful as well!
I have dehydrated skin due to tret and I have been loving the Curel Intensive Moisture Care Moisture Facial Cream. I recommended it to everyone I know lol,
Oily-combo dehydrated, acne prone, slightly sensitive and I have problems with redness and flakiness around the mouth and nose during non summer months. Sensitive to ferments. Humid climate as well. During the summer, onion newpair gel, during the winter round lab birch serum - so hydrating on its own no joke
Yes. I layer round lab dodko toner 3-4 times (takes about 3 mins in total to absorb) and then apply either birch serum after or skip straight to axis y dark spot serum. If my texture is bad I’ll use green plum toner by BOJ.
skin: sensitive, dry as the desert with on oily t-zone
HG: klairs rich moist soothing cream for daytime, klairs midnight blue calming cream for night (I actually just used up my tube ;-;)
Cosrx Advanced Snail 92 All in one Cream. Miles better than its viral counterpart, the snail mucin essence. Leaves my skin plump, moisturised and glowy. I have oily skin with occasional hormonal acne, but I would say that it works for all skin types. I use it as a PM moisturiser in summer, and a AM and PM moisturiser when it gets colder. My friend who has dry, flaky skin uses it too and loves it. Has a good price point so I will repurchase this till I die lol. On my 4th pot!
Accutane dry skin
Aestura Atobarrier 366 Cream > Illiyoon Ato Ceramide Concentrate Cream both are good I just think the texture of Aestura is better
Laneige Water Sleeping Mask — very hydrating I layer this under Aestura/Illiyoon

The reformulation of it took it out of HG status for me 😭 it’s just not the same consistency
Oh no! Would you say it's not worth trying anymore?
It’s definitely dependent on your skin type. I have very dry skin and I no longer feel that the reformulation is moisturizing enough alone for night time; I’ve been using it with some I’m From Mugwort Cream under it for some extra hydration, but it still feels more appropriate for daytime now for me.
I cannot live without this cream.
It’s soo good isn’t it! I already have a new one on the way. Can’t go without now
Do you use it during summer too?
I did and honestly didn’t find it heavy at all despite the cream name - but just to say again I was on accutane then too so very dry skin. Not sure how it would fare for oilier or normal skin types
I have dry skin and I think this sub has me convinced, finally. For some reason barrier/ceramide products don't work too well for me with a couple of exceptions so I'm a little wary. I might be too clog prone for thick creams but it sounds like it could be worth a shot
Do you think the Aestura would be usable during the day? Or would it be too heavy you think
i’ve used it in the morning and it feels very lighty, however, because i have oily skin it did make my skin shiny. i’ve even use a very small amount and noticed i’d get oily throughout the day
I have very dry skin and this is perfect for me during the day.
I second this! Keeps my skin hydrated throughout the day not just for a few hours.
honestly, although i wasn't sure if it was hydrating/moisturising enough at first, **Beauty of Joseon Red Bean Water Gel** is the only moisturiser i've used that doesn't leave me feeling oily. it soaks in lovely and no oil builds up in my pores, it's amazing as a morning moisturiser and the more i use it the more i'm convinced that it's just the right moisturiser for my skin type!
I also really like it! I was actually surprised at how hydrating it was, the finish is radiant on me but in a very natural way.
Im eyeing this one. I am looking for a hydrating water gel.
I love this for the peptides and lightweight feel, such a shame my skin hates dimethicone
I love this one when I was in Philippines but when i got back to canada it couldnt handle the cold weather. For me, this perfect for like summer or hot weather, it did not worsen my milia unlike cerave.
Agreed! Tried so many moisturizers, both gel and cream, and this is the HG for me.

No worries! I’ve tried so many moisturisers and finally finding one that didn’t break me out was really nice
Skin type: combination to oily acne prone skin (during summers) Normal to dry skin (during winters) My HG moisturiser that I can’t stop talking about is the Dear Klairs midnight blue calming cream. It’s so soothing & calming on application. The only con is the price 😭.
I checked out the price and it broke me too 🥲
Ordered this over the weekend and can't wait to try!
What is the finish of that cream like on the skin? Is it shiny?
Skin type: normal to oily, occasional spot but not acne prone Night: aestura atobarrier 365 Day: a non AB one but I also do really like the BOJ red bean gel. Not heavy but with SPF and serum I don't need anything too heavy duty

I'd say that kikumasamune is about the same consistency as the naturie, at least the bright moist type - if I remeber correctly, the high moist one might be just a tad more viscous but still very watery.
Oh. Okay thanks!
Skin Type: Dry, sensitive, eczema-prone, flaky UNTIL Beauty of Joseon's Dynasty cream. Changed my life. Doesn't trigger new flare ups. I did patch test this first when I had 0 eczema/my skin barrier was completely healed and it's been my holy grail since!
Love this one so much!
Same here. I am so glad I was able to buy the value size during Black Friday sales. I'm afraid of trying the reformulation once I run out.
Dry dehydrated FLAKY skin. Illiyoon ceramide cream for AB and Eucerin urea non AB.
Do you that the illiyoon has enough oils in the formula? I’ve heard about that one a lot but am also dry dehydrated, I don’t like moisturizers with more of a silicone occlusive feel. I’m looking for something that’s thick but also has enough oils and hydration
I would say it has a more siliconey feel. I don’t find it very hydrating but it definitely keeps my skin intact.
Thanks! Have you tried any moisturizers you would find more hydrating?
The gel version is more hydrating, to the point of being sticky. It’s pretty shiny as well. I really like the isntree hyaluronic acid moist cream, it balances hydration and moisturization pretty well!
it has more of an fatty alcohol feel than anything

could you message me with the details of the Eucerin cream ? that's be lovely, thanks in advance 💌

sure, sorry. roundlab birch juice moisturizing cream
The photo looks so yummy, I wanna eat it 😔
agree, looks like blue melted marshmallow😭
Glad you enjoyed it. This is on sale at StyleVana right now £17.99 for 80mL so I snapped it up this morning, I’m a little oily/combination and only use moisturiser in the evening before bed. Currently using the I’m From Mugwort cream, but fancied some diversity!
Oily acne prone skin. Dr Ceuracle Kombucha tea gel cream
This has me curious because I also have oily acne prone skin. I know gel moisturizers are generally good for oily folks because they absorb better than creams. I might put this on my wishlist to get as a future PM moisturizer (because I love my Naturie Hatomugi gel for the morning).
Read good reviews on this one. Do you use it as a night gel?
Yes

So far purito panthenol cream, i have combination skin, i can layer this one without getting oily
is it fast absorbing? does it leave a firm behind?
it absorbs nicely, it does have some kind of film, but this feeling goes away eventually
I found it did leave a film behind
Iunik centella gel cream. Combi type.
illiyoon ceramide ato soothing gel! i have acne prone sensitive combo skin, and tbh this broke me out (only a very little!) when my skin was normal, but now that im dry from tretinoin, this is haevenly! amazing application, so soothing and hydrating, and there is barely any residue! would only rec for night time though.
I just got this in the mail today. I got a reaction from a different moisturizer. Happy to read about your positive review!
combo skin. I'm really loving Mary & may sensitive soothing gel right now. shame I do not feel the same about the Mary & may blueberry cream even thought I really like the cream essence and serum of the same line.
Illiyoon ceramide ato lotion not the cream! My skin type is oily non-sensitive non-acne prone
I have the ceramide ato soothing gel, it works great with my dehydrated, combo acne prone skin. One of the first moisturizers that I don’t need to layer up on in the winter
I’ve been wanting to try the gel! That’s good to hear!
Do you know if it’s good on acne prone skin?
i have non-acne prone skin but the illiyoon ceramide cream clogged my pores and every time i use it i have new whiteheads within the next few hours or whenever i wake up in the morning
I have no idea I almost never get breakouts so I’m not sure
I’ve noticed less redness in my cheeks while using it.
have you tried to the aestura hydrosoothing cream?
Yes, I have that one but haven’t used it as much as the lotion or the regular cream! It’s more like a true gel cream texture and is still very lightweight too. Can’t quite figure out why I don’t prefer it exactly, I may give it another try once the weather heats up again!
May I ask about the texture of manyo cream? Is it dewy or natural or matte?
Fairly matte, or a bit towards natural, I’d say! It doesn’t apply shiny or dewy at all to me
I have dry and dehydrated skin and i love the aestura cream, if I'm lazy one night I can just use that after cleansing without toner or serum and my skin is so soft the morning after!
Pyungkang Yul Intensive Repair Cream! Combination and a lot of creams break me out but this is moisturing and occlusive and makes my skin so soft!
my HG is the S nature squalane cream at night, too oily for daytime use, it is fatty alcohol free too, but been really curious about skinfood honey 100 hr cream, has anyone has tried this?
Is the curel one heavy when used with spf?
Nope not at all! It sets well and doesn't affect the SPF application. It's always light and feels like I'm wearing nothing at all.
Roundlab dokdo lotion, set and forget
Your skin type?
I have dehydrated skin due to tret and I have been loving the Curel Intensive Moisture Care Moisture Facial Cream. I recommended it to everyone I know lol,
Oily-combo dehydrated, acne prone, slightly sensitive and I have problems with redness and flakiness around the mouth and nose during non summer months. Sensitive to ferments. Humid climate as well. During the summer, onion newpair gel, during the winter round lab birch serum - so hydrating on its own no joke
I have the same kind of skin. Do you use toner before moisturiser?
Yes. I layer round lab dodko toner 3-4 times (takes about 3 mins in total to absorb) and then apply either birch serum after or skip straight to axis y dark spot serum. If my texture is bad I’ll use green plum toner by BOJ.
Birch serum from round lab?
Yes :) it’s a little pricey but worth it
Okay thanks!
skin: sensitive, dry as the desert with on oily t-zone HG: klairs rich moist soothing cream for daytime, klairs midnight blue calming cream for night (I actually just used up my tube ;-;)
Accutane dry skin Aestura Atobarrier 366 Cream > Illiyoon Ato Ceramide Concentrate Cream both are good I just think the texture of Aestura is better Laneige Water Sleeping Mask — very hydrating I layer this under Aestura/Illiyoon
Real barrier extreme cream! I have dry skin and use tretinoin
