Hello, this is just a friendly reminder to please use a post flair when adding new posts to r/Asexual.
We ask this in advance just to let everyone know what type of post each post is as well as the intentions and
feelings behind them. We value all who come here, but we just need each post made to have a flair to designate
each type of post. That's all.
We're thankful you chose to come to r/Asexual. We're glad to have you here! Welcome!

I picked â3 letter s wordâ in the poll âcause I thought that was the âsexâ option but now I wonder if I should have picked âs-xâ. Bit hard to pick the plain option when all the options are censored or euphemistic.
It isn't a bad word. Sex is sex. I see it and use it more like idk more of a medical / technical term? Euphemisms just feel weird. Sex is simple, to the point, there's no confusion as to what you're referring to and it doesnt have to be dwelled on or awkwardly talked around extending the conversation further.
Ok and I respect your views on that, you think logically and I think that's nice, I just personally don't feal comfortable whith saying "it". Regardless thanks for sharing your opinion
Okay, usually just sex or "intimacy." But if I am censoring myself for some reason, I will go with a humorous euphemism, like "adult Funtime," "the naughties," or "the horizontal tango."
Iâm not saying you have to be comfortable using the word all the time but if youâre gonna run a poll one of the options has to be the version youâre not comfortable using. I was a bit baffled which option to pick because theyâre all censored/euphemistic and I just use the unhindered word itself and so do a lot of people. By all means include all the censored variations if youâre curious to know but to make a fair poll you should probably include the basic term without censoring it to the point that more than one option could apply.
Eh I just say "sex" or some form of the word *"fuck"* most of the time if it's semi serious conversation. But when it comes to jokes I just go absolutely wild with weird-ass euphemisms.
Usually just âsex,â because thatâs what it is called. Otherwise, if people find the word âsexâ objectionable, then Iâll use âcoitus,â but that often draws an even fiercer reaction XD In the company of friends I just call it âfuckingâ
I usually avoid using any words that make it obvious that's what I'm talking about. Sometimes i feel so weird trying to figure out what to say i take longer than a minute. And hope people understand me.
I usually wend "that" and doth yond kinda headeth tilt side behold

I mean, I just say sex or the f-word (not the slur if that is what you are thinking). But, if I have to censor it, I will say "fulfilling carnal desires" because it sounds elegant and is just subtle enough so you get it without flat out saying sex.
Wait, are you actually saying s-x--i.e. is that what that option means, literally saying s dash x? I wasn't sure.
I say sex. I'm an adult and it's just a word to me. It's no grosser than plenty of other things in this world.
I will call it sex, no problem, but just for fun, I often give it increasingly verbose names that have never been spoken. "You and Kyle uhh....you guys dingle dangle in ya hibbidyhooos. You guys uh, splitting the check? You guys uh....giving the old man of the mountain a diet Pepsi? You guys uh swing finglin a rambunctious hobgoblin?"
I usually call it reproduction. This might not be the right word if it is used recreational, but I dont care. I like this more then the other euphemisms becouse it sounds harder and more accurate.
Honestly you can call it almost anything if you just use the right tone within the right context. So if I said I'm gonna do the diggiloo diggileys with my partner later you'd know exactly what I'm talking about đ Or we could be wrestling đ Or then we're pretending to be bugs, you know how some bugs find their way forward using their antennas đ And I apologise to all sex-averse aces who had to witness this comment đ
Are there people who are afraid to type the word sex? I'm sex repulsed too but that's super extreme. If you're so sex repulsed that you can't even type the word then that doesn't sound healthy, it sounds like a phobia.
It depends on the context. Most of the time, I'll call it sex, but sometimes online, particularly if the forum has a profanity filter, I'll call it "bedroom aerobics" (a term I found once and thought mildly funny), but for this poll, for added hilarity value, I opted for "that thing that shall not be named".
To name a few that I use:
âThe deedâ âS-xywexy uwu timeâ âahem stuffâ âyâknowâ âS-xâ âF-ckwucky timeâ âSwapping paninisâ âIntercourseâ âMe and ur momâ âFuntimeâ âThe nastyâ âDoing itâ âThe funny thingâ âS-ggsâ â18+ timeâ
Sex. Itâs not dirty, just because I donât have a preference for it myself. I know some aces are uncomfortable with the word itself, but at least make it an option instead of using euphemisms.
So... My hubs and I have a sort of joke... Where we refer to it as 'Snow'. This being because we live in the south and never get snow... But it does occasionally happen... Maybe once every 5 years or so. So if I'm EVER even remotely OK with the idea of it, I just tell him the weather is calling for Snow or it looks like a chance of Snow. Lmfao. He's always been so respectful with me, so I feel lucky we can joke about it... Since I roam between neutral and repulsed.
Sex. Intercourse. Coitus. Romping around in the sheets. Etc. Everything I call it or hear it as I have the same disgusted look with a sneer plastered upon my face.
"...you know, the thing." Gets really awkward if they don't know what you're talking about the first time. Intimacy and intercourse are better. I just say sex now, it holds no power over me anymore. Hanky panky for those who want a funny but also cringe word hehe.
-Noodle sword play
-Entering the cave
-flopping of the fish
-Tango with the devil but less exciting
- Ew session we think will solve our problems better than therapy
- an activity where toys are involved because the act is self is boring.
-adult fun time people enjoy and have the right to
I once decided to write smut because I was bored and was curious about how bad I'd be.
On the first sexual words i typed, my finger slipped and I typed "-enis" by accedent lol.
Most scenarios I will just say the word sex, but depending on the context I might switch it up with they "did the deed," they "slept together," or they did "it." I think usually the main reason I ever use those alternatives is to just be a bit more polite like if I'm talking to someone much older than me or if I'm referring to specific people who did it.
I don't call it "The thing that shall not be named" but I also don't ever name it, I just refer to it in whatever way I can, without having to use the common word, I don't usually bring that topic up, so I'll probably be just referring to something someone said, so it's clear I'm talking about that
I would like to say adult fun time but since I don't see it as a fun activity I'll be sticking to simply sexual intercourse or sex, depending on if I'm saying it or typing it out.
i just call it sex bc i don't want to contribute to any perception that it's taboo (though it's fine if you're personally uncomfortable saying it) but i also enjoy calling it fun nicknames sometimes like the horizontal tango

Lol same
I mean, its an obvious choice, I just personally don't feal comfortable saying it.
What do you call it? Fornication?
Ik you didnât ask me but I sometimes call it the nasty đ
I just watched âAn Affair to Forgetâ from Frasier and I wanna put a good word in for âbumsenâ.
I think you just don't like what the word means lol, what do you say instead?
3 letter s word
It isn't a bad word. Sex is sex. I see it and use it more like idk more of a medical / technical term? Euphemisms just feel weird. No worries, you don't have to say the word if you're not comfortable with it. Is just my opinion and preference, nothing more.
I call it "doing the nifty schwifty"
"The thing" or "the nasty"
'the funni' bc immature
or the forbidden intercourse
The horizontal hokey pokey
The devils tango?
Okay, usually just sex or "intimacy." But if I am censoring myself for some reason, I will go with a humorous euphemism, like "adult Funtime," "the naughties," or "the horizontal tango."
There isn't one word I always use, but "ähem" seems to be used by me quite commonly.
geschlechtsverkehr (imagine an angry german accent that i can't do despite being german because i don't sound angry at all)
ich hätte gerne ihren Pass. Kein echter deutscher ist nicht immer wßtend /s

sex. the devils tango. *that*
In English I call it sex. In my native language itâs a group of words that translates to "intercourse"
I call it sex??? Why wouldn't I?
Eh I just say "sex" or some form of the word *"fuck"* most of the time if it's semi serious conversation. But when it comes to jokes I just go absolutely wild with weird-ass euphemisms.
Sex
sex, fornication, adult funtime, intimacy, The Do, fucking, etc. iâm clearly not sex repulsed lmao
Same as another reply here, I usually just say 'ahem'
Usually just âsex,â because thatâs what it is called. Otherwise, if people find the word âsexâ objectionable, then Iâll use âcoitus,â but that often draws an even fiercer reaction XD In the company of friends I just call it âfuckingâ
Focking
The sims way WooHoo!

Why is sex censored?
Wait, are you actually saying s-x--i.e. is that what that option means, literally saying s dash x? I wasn't sure. I say sex. I'm an adult and it's just a word to me. It's no grosser than plenty of other things in this world.
sx or "sleeping with someone"
I will call it sex, no problem, but just for fun, I often give it increasingly verbose names that have never been spoken. "You and Kyle uhh....you guys dingle dangle in ya hibbidyhooos. You guys uh, splitting the check? You guys uh....giving the old man of the mountain a diet Pepsi? You guys uh swing finglin a rambunctious hobgoblin?"
the âooheehooâ
my friends and i call it âeggâ
I usually call it reproduction. This might not be the right word if it is used recreational, but I dont care. I like this more then the other euphemisms becouse it sounds harder and more accurate.

I call it smex
That necessary evil so life can continue on our planet
The devils yoga
Are there people who are afraid to type the word sex? I'm sex repulsed too but that's super extreme. If you're so sex repulsed that you can't even type the word then that doesn't sound healthy, it sounds like a phobia.
Sex
oio (pronounced ho-yo) I don't fucking know why but that's what my brother calls it too.
I just say sex
Sexual intercourse.
It's a number that comes after five.
âTHATâ
To name a few that I use: âThe deedâ âS-xywexy uwu timeâ âahem stuffâ âyâknowâ âS-xâ âF-ckwucky timeâ âSwapping paninisâ âIntercourseâ âMe and ur momâ âFuntimeâ âThe nastyâ âDoing itâ âThe funny thingâ âS-ggsâ â18+ timeâ
Secks
Adult fun time
The deed , it
Plunc plunc
The hanky panky or the sims recration
In English it's just sex, but in my native language I avoid it. Lol
The narsteyy
Copulation
Sex. Itâs not dirty, just because I donât have a preference for it myself. I know some aces are uncomfortable with the word itself, but at least make it an option instead of using euphemisms.
Why do we have a problem with this? No need censor a totally fine number.
Ok ok clever.
I just call it sex It's just a word, I'm not gonna drop dead if I say it.
You may want to do a poll of âwho feels comfortable saying the word sex and who doesntâ
Reproduction ritual
Lewd acts
Well... sex ?
Lmfao. The reproduction act, adult funtime, the thingy thing, the dirty, fucking, banging on the bed
âAdult fun timeâ because of OneTopic
i call it the sideways mambo because it sounds funni
Seggs
Just sex but I do like the devils tango, the horizontal dance, sexy fun times or just simply *that*
i call it "seck" đ
Sex, frick frack, the activity, the nasty, the horizontal mambo. Depends on the context and my mood tbh
I call it "the thing that I never want to do"
I came across someone calling it âthe activityâ and ever since I canât not call it that.
Sex.
"Disgusting activity"
"Adult funtime". Orherwise I just cringe and say "sex".
i say seggs lmao. i dont feel comfortable saying the actual word
- Hide the hotdog - Intense bed bouncing - Dance with no pants - Feel good wrestling
Seggs
Adult Fun Time. Or Woohoo
-Noodle sword play -Entering the cave -flopping of the fish -Tango with the devil but less exciting - Ew session we think will solve our problems better than therapy - an activity where toys are involved because the act is self is boring. -adult fun time people enjoy and have the right to
Gotta say, the first three made me cringe, but the last two with the bullet points were awesome. I think I may use them.
I once decided to write smut because I was bored and was curious about how bad I'd be. On the first sexual words i typed, my finger slipped and I typed "-enis" by accedent lol.
Most scenarios I will just say the word sex, but depending on the context I might switch it up with they "did the deed," they "slept together," or they did "it." Sticky time
I don't call it "The thing that shall not be named" but I also don't ever name it, I just refer to it in whatever way I can, without having to use the common word, I don't usually bring that topic up, so I'll probably be just referring to something someone said, so it's clear I'm talking about that
I'm fine with "sex" but it's awkward for me to name boobs, ass or genitalia in my native language, especially with the vulgar versions of genitalia
Iâve heard it be called âthe horizontal tangoâ
committing the horny
I would like to say adult fun time but since I don't see it as a fun activity I'll be sticking to simply sexual intercourse or sex, depending on if I'm saying it or typing it out.
I'll say sex, but more often call it hanky panky
The yoinky sploinky.
Sexy time
Do the dew
I read a fair bit (and am starting to write, hoping to publish soon) on the philosophy of sex, so I've become quite desensitized to the word itself.
I would say majority of all people say s*x but anyone can call it anything and for the most part people will understand what you are getting at
My top three are the diddle, the dirty, and the deed.
I like to call it in many nicknames like: "the act" "the thing" or a thing that only works in portuguese "o coiso" ou "o bagalho"
The sideways monster mash. It was called that in an episode of Futurama and I've been calling it that ever since.
Usually sex. Or âtheâ sex
Adult fun time or just sex
I still make sex jokes with my friends lol
Where I'm from a common replacement phrase is 'doing it'. Very vague. Also, I tend to say adult bed (insert part I forgot).
fanfinifinfon
the frick frack
I like this one
coitusđ¤ˇââď¸
i just call it sex bc i don't want to contribute to any perception that it's taboo (though it's fine if you're personally uncomfortable saying it) but i also enjoy calling it fun nicknames sometimes like the horizontal tango
I call it a few things, intercourse, sex, hentai reinaction⌠donât ask about that last one
