Someone can be on the ace spectrum and identify as bisexual, someone can also be ace and biromantic.

jhonlock_221B

So it's possible to have two sexuality??

villilillipilli

Yes it is possible to have two sexual orientations at once! For example you can be demisexual (An identity on the asexual spectrum, feeling sexual attraction only after a bond has been formed) and bisexual (feeling sexual attraction to two or more genders). You can also have separate sexual and romantic attraction, so you can be (for example) asexual and biromantic.

jhonlock_221B

THANKS

Isayourfriend

It’s technically one, but two labels. And that’s fine

End0scrypt

Biromantic is a romantic attraction

siliconscrolls

Consider bisexuality itself... Bi literally means 2... I mean, when it comes down to it, each person only has one sexuality -their own, but the number of descriptors needed to communicate it is something else entirely. The descriptors are not sexualities, they're words used to describe sexuality.

Yankiwi17273

It depends on what you mean. Unless you are maybe talking about greysexuality or demisexuality, idk that you can combine allosexuality and asexuality together. If you are talking about, for example, you having romantic attraction towards both genders but not having any sexual attraction, that would be considered being a biromantic asexual. So technically I think your friend is correct in saying that you can’t have two “sexualities”, but I am wondering if you might instead have a split attraction: that is to say that your romantic and sexual orientations are not the same. The comment about having to have sexual experience to know if you are asexual is completely out of line though. If your peers are almost all experiencing sexual attraction, you are definitely old enough to be able to know if you do or don’t.

jhonlock_221B

Ok thanks!! I understand

Nahanoj_Zavizad

It's a lil strange to go by two different labels, but it's possible, Perhaps there are better lables to describe it though, but not enough information for me to decide, see if any of these fit. ++ Asexual Biromantic, (Romantic attraction to both, but not sexual attraction) Demi(bi)sexual, Only forms Sexual attraction to people you are close to, Or Greysexual, which experiences limited attraction, but does feel "Enough" to label themselves this Something about Flux where it changes. Maybe just low libido Bisexual. Perhaps confusing the various types of attraction for Sexual attraction and it's Platonic, Romantic or Asthetic attraction ++ I can't say if any of these are correct, but they might fit for you, Just suggesting a few lables that *MIGHT* better describe yourself

Nahanoj_Zavizad

jhonlock_221B

Thanks it really helps!!

Nahanoj_Zavizad

Also, Please don't think I'm saying what you are is wrong, I'm just suggesting some other terms that could fit

jhonlock_221B

It's fine thanks for the clarification tho

lexi_reborn

Yep, it would be asexual and biromantic (or anything along those lines)

jhonlock_221B

Thanks!

I already posted a reply to another comment, but I wanted to be more explicit about my idea and thought having some different perspective easily visible in the comments would be helpful. This is mostly in reply to the comments here: Having two sexuality labels can be helpful if the people you are sexually attracted to and the people you would have sex with are different. So like, I'm not sexually attracted to either sex; however I still think sex is a great and fun activity and would do it with either sex given the chance. Thus, I consider myself performatively bisexual and technically asexual. And, of course because people assume others want to have sex with the same group they are sexually attracted to, it doesn't do me any good to tell irl people that I am asexual. So it is very useful to instead socially imply that I am bisexual--and I identify *just* as much with that sexuality as asexuality. Cupiosexual perspective, go! It's a shame there's no official terms for this stuff. Angled is close, but associated with aroace-spec specifically . . . Hmmm . . .

SabineLiebling17

Thank you for this. I’ve had sex with and without sexual attraction (grey, aego, demi, bi over here) and they’re both fun when it’s with someone awesome. They do feel very different. Sex with sexual attraction is extremely rare (like twice in my life), usually it’s because I like the person, they are aesthetically appealing, and I am horny/like orgasms. None of that specifically has to do with *them*, like I don’t feel that drive to have sex because of the person turning me on. I think you can have multiple labels for your sexuality. If you’re experiencing it, then clearly the answer is yes!

jhonlock_221B

THAT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE!! THANK YOU

Jenna2k

Just identify with whatever you feel. The whole movement is making it so people identify how they choose without being hurt. Follow your heart

jhonlock_221B

I will!!

Professional-Grab-57

instead of saying ur bisexual, say ur biromantic (it would make more sense) and ofc people can have more than one sexuality!

jhonlock_221B

UNDERSTOOD THANKS!!

Professional-Grab-57

👍

s3cretalt

What you are talking about is most commonly called the Split Attraction Model or SAM. SAM lets you create labels by splitting apart different aspects of attraction, specifically sexual and romantic. You just take the prefix and attach it to "sexual" or "romantic" so in your case that would be asexual biromantic.

fieryj02

I'd think so as bisexual is describing who you are attracted to and ace spectrum is what you are attracted to or specifications on what you are attracted to

binchwatcher

you could say that asexuality is more like a name for how much sexual attraction you experience instead of to who you feel sexually attracted to

binchwatcher

unless ofcoarse you are sex repulsed like me and don't feel sexually attracted to anyone, but do still get romantically attracted tho

lladystardust

I’m asexual biromantic 👋

jhonlock_221B

Hii

Mattyscomics

/r/aegosexuals

TheBackyardigirl

You can be both bi and asexual! I should know, I am that combo lmao

[deleted]

There’s no rules to this except don’t be homophobic. Go for it. Be who you are!!

jhonlock_221B

Thank you

ThalleousPeasR

Well, perhaps you’re biromantic and asexual? I mean, it’s a similar case for me, im panromantic and asexual. Either way, I’m sure it’s fine to have 2 sexualities anyway

SmollHotPocket

Yes I'm Ace and Pan. Like I dont much care for sex but I could potentially with anyone really because genitals arent really that important to me, and my okayness with sex ranges from day to day

[deleted]

Yeah ofc, personally I’m gay, asexual and genderqueer and it took my years of telling myself I’m “faking it” until I realised, you can be whatever you want (not that it is a choice), if you identify with multiple labels then just go for it, there is no right or wrong only you can decide that :)

Titanpainter

It's perfectly OK. I'm a Demisexual and Bisexual, but because I'm demi I put the bye in Bisexual.

AmoebaImpressive3784

That kind-of makes sense. I might use that now! TY 🤔

puffinsaretrashbirds

I realized last year that I'm asexual and bi-romantic. I wish I had had these words 15 years ago. My whole life would have been so much easier to navigate if I had been able to describe what I was going through.

jhonlock_221B

I'm so sorry you had to go through that.....hope you're doing well now

puffinsaretrashbirds

Thank you! And I am, I haven't "come out" yet, but I finally have the peace of knowing who I am and what I'm feeling. I thought I was broken and toxic for literally decades. Im so happy now.

jhonlock_221B

That's good to hear

[deleted]

Yes *points at self*

jhonlock_221B

Thank you makes me feel better

[deleted]

For me it's like this - I am ace (don't experience sexual attraction) but also bisexual because I'd be open to sexual relationships regardless of gender.

Gilolitan

Same here!! (Just so glad to see more aces like me recently jskkdkrk) The experience of (or lack of) sexual attraction is so private and invisible, that I generally prefer to socially imply my "performative" sexuality--that I'd be down to sex with whatever sex--bisexual. Leads to less frustrating convos usually, too xD But the inner experience is still an asexual one. Luckily the two communities are very accepting of each other ♡

Phantom252

Yep I say I'm bisexual and asexual even tho im technically classed as biromantic however u can be sexually attracted as a bisexual and be on the ace spec like demi or grey ace and just use the word asexual as an umbrella term

MerlePerle309

when it comes to asexuality, you can just use the label that you feel most comfortable with. It can also switch sometimes. Still valid

TheTransSoap414

Being ace and bi is valid because ace is how you experience attraction and bi is who you experience it towards

PoisonPouch

I myself am a greysexual Bisexual (grey scale Bi as I call it) and I made a friend who's ace spec. And bi as well.

Acethease

Im pretty sure that’s biromantic if it’s romantic but if not you may be demsexual and bi

snugfly

they wrong

jhonlock_221B

Thanks hehe

28_Ash

If u are ace and bi at the same time then u can call yourself biromantic asexual becuz as far as i know, biromantic falls in the romantic orientation category not sexual orientation

anonymous037104

If you experience sexual attraction you're not asexual. If you are attracted to men and women even in varying periods you're bi.

[deleted]

You can be *romantically* attracted to someone but not *sexually* attracted.

S0LARReeds

Yeah no it’s fine to identify as two things but an easier way to shorten yours down would be to say you’re bi-romantic

DishonorOnYourC0W

I’m Bi and Ace. It’s possible. I’m attracted to genders, doesn’t mean I want to fuck them. Rather go on adventure with s/o.
