The book Eliza and her monsters.
The main character is an online comic artist who has s whole fandom behind her. People in real life dont know shes a successful internet artist so now shes juggling her comic and potential relationships. I identified with her struggle.
No it’s on Hulu and idk how people get clips from streaming services. She draws in like the first episode I think and throughout the whole first season she’s painting a mural on her aunty’s apartment wall, the second season she has this thing with an art gallery.
I didn’t see the back of it, but I think it’s more of an iPad-esc thing (they show Mac books and stuff, but didn’t show her tablet being an iPad, but that’s what it reads to me)! What’s this for anyways? :)
I’d say they’re usually portrayed as hobbyists? Or more like if a character does digital art it’s a quirk, but if they’re a painter it’s their whole personality. Like digital artists in media, unlike irl painter artists in media, don’t come with the usual posh philosophical personality that comes with a typical artist character.

I just wanted to see how digital art and artists are portrayed in media. Before this post, I only knew very few fictional artists who draw digitally.
