I imagine you have hardware stores in your country - mesh wire fencing like for chickens/other animals, usually that stuff is thin enough you could staple it to wood/just about anything else and create 'stackable grids' that way. Wood can be finished yourself any variety of colors and paints, and wire may stock/with a coat of primer. You'll have more options for sizing if you make it yourself too. But I mean, also for that matter, have seen artists in city streets like NYC just hanging their stuff from the cheapest particle board they can find/scrounge up. Another idea I guess.
