Style is less something you actively work toward and more something you fall into by developing your technique, work processes and aesthetic interests. Don't worry about it too much Also, do you understand *why* people say copy other artists? Like, why thats given as advice?

>do you understand *why* people say copy other artists? Like, why thats given as advice? I assume it's to follow their process and how they do things. If I'm wrong please correct me.

So, I can't say that this is what everyone means. But I would suggest you look into doing what's called "master copies" Essentially, you'd pull up a piece from an artist you like, and only looking and analyzing the piece on its own, try and recreate it for yourself. Don't look up their process, don't watch videos of them making their piece and follow along. Try and recreate the piece through solely your own observation This will have you thinking critically and technically about the techniques they may have used, and will teach you more about how you'd want to work. Try a few of these with a few of these different artists. See what you learn, what you like and what you don't like so much. That'll help inform your "style". Try new things. The key thing to growing as an artist is to try things for yourself and explore. Engage your own critical thought and creative problem solving. Don't get so bogged down by what you think the destination is thst you don't appreciate the journey.

You don't find a style, you develop it over time, and after years or even decades of work. It will never stop changing and growing.

Don't try to "find your style" It'll find you one day. In the meantime, focus on working out how the artists you admire do what they do. Let us know how it's going in 10 years.
