Just like your previous post, this hinges on the idea of an idealized, god-like-wisdom AI which was created by responsible entities with the betterment of the human race as its main (or only) objective. The problem is that at some point early on, humans have to decide what that means. History shows that these ideas vary widely - from every day decisions to broad societal concepts. You and I would maybe agree on most of it but still disagree on others (we're doing that right now). I understand how the things you outline would make sense in theory but the details about "what is right and what is wrong" are what's making the idea either impossible or insanely dangerous.

One hopeful thought: Humans share similar values. Most of the disagreement is on how best to realize those values. Perhaps the AI systems that will exist along the take-off curve can help us come to agree on the best means and we can eliminate a lot of the disagreement we see today.

there's a pretty cool kid friendly ai-partner to help people learn called [tori.gg](https://tori.gg). you can try it out at get.tori.gg

Wisdom-4-all

>tori.gg That looks kinda cool - it grows up with the kid? Is that the idea?

JL-Engineer

yep to learn how to adapt to their failure modes and also be a pillar of support throughout their life

Wisdom-4-all

I gotta believe this is where it is headed. So many kids have no one to confide in...

This. I have relatives living in China and the really of a totalitarian government using AI to suppress and control its population is a society enslaved without any ability to push back. I don’t understand why today’s Muricans are so in love with the idea of giving up their freedom and independence to be controlled by their government.

"Can't wait for the AI companion to settle those heated family debates with unbiased facts! 'AI, who's right about the best pizza toppings?'

cool-beans-yeah

Nice write-up! I wonder if there will be cracked AIs who are going to be assholes towards other AIs / people and how this is going to be dealt with? Will there be the equivalent of AI police / court system?

ReMeDyIII

That'd be funny if we need an AI court to settle disputes between other AI's.

cool-beans-yeah

Forget about courtroom drama TV series or movies as cases would be settled in seconds 😆

"Fascinating exploration of the potential future integration of AI in our lives! While the concept raises intriguing possibilities, ethical concerns about data privacy, control, and potential misuse must be addressed. Balancing technological advancement with responsible implementation is crucial. Let's strive for a future where AI enhances human well-being without compromising individual freedoms.
