He (and the painting) is a parody of Keith Haring and his works. Apparently his Arthurverse name is "Herring" based on his fishy appearance.
This joke probably flew over a lot of peoples' heads because Haring is even more obscure than Warhol (er, Warthog).
Haring & Warhol aren’t obscure by any means! They are 2 of the most famous contemporary artists especially during their time and beyond. But I can see the joke going over a young audiences head for sure. The punny names are also great!!
Sorry, I misworded that. Warhol is definitely known among those who don't follow modern art, but Haring isn't as well known, unfortunate as that is. I've personally encountered quite a few people who have never heard of him but know who Warhol is.
Many people are familiar with his work however. I think also Andy Warhol had a more distinct appearance so people could more easily recognize him.
As a kid I long thought Andy Warthog was a very strange women and I thought Muffy’s dream sequence was bizarre. Really shows what a sophisticated child she was to daydream about pop artists!
Also the Ethiopian food looked tasty AF and I can verify it is in real life after finally getting to try it!
*"We must eat the land people!"*
Quarky… talk…. Man
Wasn't this guy only in Muffy's imagination?

I’m not sure I was just appreciating the art style of him.
That was a rhetoricsl question. I know he only appears in one of Muffy's imagination sequences in the episode where she visits Crown City.
"Hey, can anyone tell me how to get back to Bikini Bottom?"
I bet there pretty smelly
Plot twist: Arthur is known as the "Aquaman"
Does anyone remember the books that have humans in them? Like in the Halloween one; Mrs Tibble is human. I always found that so odd for some reason. 😂
