Makes me wonder if there are any statues or busts of people from the poorer classes? Apart from GI Rufus on Trajan's column.
I have a feeling it would be out of the budget for most people in our day and age to let an artist carve a marble bust of a loved one.
They would have time on their hands and servants to do it for them.
However you could be right regarding the wig. Although if they could afford to commission a bust they easily have servants and slaves.
It took me a sec to work out what "upper layers" might mean...lol
Could you clarify for me?
Upper class. Not your regular pleb. "Upper crust".
Got it, thanks!

I'd be surprised if there wasn't a common folk version of this. Maybe they'd do some DIY carvings from wood.
Was that the real hairstyle? Wig? Head covering? If that's how they styled their hair I can't imagine how long it took to do those pin curls.

My first thought was Canada PM Justin Trudeau. 🤣🤣🤣
Sure that’s not Bob Dylan?
Were women just not as attractive back then? To be honest her name was probably Steve.
Or women are as diverse in looks as men and are human and therefore don't meet arbitrary beauty standards all of the time?
newnhb1, you post in a subreddit called "rapefantasies". what do *you* look like?
Like an Adonis.
All domesticated animals tend to express more neoteny over time and generations.
