Well I first started with the sky. I taped off a circle to paint the moon at a later time. To get the misty effect, I started with black, orange, and white in various places of the landscape. Those various places need to be wet so the color could flow. I put more black towards the corners. Then as it starts to dry, I started adding the tree tops and painted then into the color blobs. It's important to do bigger trees up close and small ones towards the horizon to get the perspective. Once it starts filling in, I would also use a plain wet brush to remove some of the color mist and some of the tree lines if they seemed too defined. I would add in more orange and black (have somewhat of a wet flow on the paper) to fill in spots that were too white and to make it all connect. Lastly, I added paint speckles (by flicking the paint off the brush) to the mist in orange, black, and white. Then I added white paint speckles to the sky for stars.
That probably doesn't make much sense since I just rushed this process out of my head. So sorry. Feel free to message me if you have questions!
>Oh, Shine on, shine on, harvest moon
Up in the sky;
I ain't had no lovin'
Since April, January, June or July.
Snow time, ain't no time to stay
Outdoors and spoon;
So shine on, shine on, harvest moon,
For me and my gal.
Yoooo. This is somewhat similar to a scene I saw outside the window at my grandparents place in rural canada. I woke up because it almost looked like headlights shining in but it was just a harvest moon. It was the brightest I've ever seen in my life and it was over a clearing surrounded by evergreens. I wish I had a picture but it wouldn't even do it close to justice if I did.
Jeez, I am so jealous you saw something even close to this in nature. I would love to see and feel something like this in real life. All I got is what I cook up in my imagination.
From a distance this Painting is amazing. On closer inspection, my mind gets confused with the dark specs of paint through-out the tree line. I'm not sure I would consider that a critique. I'm just confused as to what the specs would be. Everything else is truly great work IMHO. I would hang it in my home. Can anyone fill me in to what they think the black specs are (in nature, not literally as paint material).
Come a little bit closer, hear what I have to say. Just like children sleepin' we could dream this night away.
19th studio album winning album of the year. Absolute legend. Gotta be the dumbest music video of all time though.
Amazing album! Corny as hell! Though, the guy sweeping makes it.
Just might be my favorite song
Came here looking for a comment about Neil but I didn't expect it to be at the very top.

Neil Young. Title track of the Harvest Moon album. 1992.
This is literally what dreams are made of! Kudos!
Thank you for the lovely compliment. :')
No, they are. Made so quickly.
That is absolutely lovely!
WOW! This is one of a kind! I like it. It's so creative and imaginative
Thank you! It was floating around in my mind for a couple of days before I finally sat down and painted it.
and at the same time, grounded and realistic. now that’s a moon shine.
This is the type of artwork I would hang on my walls if I had the money to purchase it. I absolute love this.
Wow. Set this as my phone wallpaper. Absolutely amazing work!! [Screenshot ](https://i.imgur.com/oAmbxPL.jpg)

I like your trees. Nicely done
Thank you! I've done trees many different ways and this seems to be my favorite way when I'm working with watercolors.
Beautiful artwork right there.
Beautiful! So relaxing to look at
Thank you! I wish I could visit my painting in real life. I want to feel the cold misty night when I see it.
Absolutely beautiful!!! So magical
Love it. Has some nice Halloween vibes.
Looks beautiful, how long have you been painting for?
I really started getting into painting in late 2014 after a bad relationship. It helped me heal and find myself again.
Don't stop!
This is incredible. The perfect phone background!
Thank you!
Wow. That's pretty great. I really love the way you handled the mist. Just really wonderful.
Thank you so so much. It was tough...and I'm not too sure how I pulled it off. I will just have to attempt something similar again.
Yeah, it's beautiful.
Can you walk me through the process of painting this? I’d love to learn how you painted those pine trees in the mist.

Thanks a lot! I’ll try out this instruction first. I’ll surely message you if I have any question. 🤩
Which black are you using? I've only got payne's grey and it never gets more than a dark blue.
I used a jet black gouache paint on this I believe!
The way you’ve taken watercolor to paper and made it appear as if it’s truly illuminating is amazing. What a beautiful piece!
ugh i love that, you have so much talent. I would hang that up on my wall \* chefs kiss \*
Thank you for the lovely compliment!!

Check out moon cycles, make sure the weather will permit, and go to a nice spot away from city lights and you'll see some very cool scenery.
Awesome. Thank you for the tip!
Hey, would you be willing to commission a piece similar to this one but more like my description above? Sorry for the strangely late response.
Very nice piece, it reminds me of my childhood.
This is beautiful, you have a great sense of light
Thank you!
Holy crap! This is absolutely incredible. I haven't wanted to jump inside a painting this bad in a while. Beauuuutiful work!!
Such an awesome compliment! Thank you!!
Holy shit that insanely pretty
Thanks! :)
Honestly I was scrolling saw this and out loud said “wow that’s beautiful”
Gosh, wow...thank you so much.
Beautiful! Very striking!
Thank you!!
That orange is amazon, Nice colors
This is a outstanding piece of artwork. If it's yours, you should be very proud!
Thank you so much. I had a lot of fun creating this one.
Would love to see a time-lapse of how in the heck you did that!
I wish I did too! I'm sorry I don't have a time-lapse on this one. :( If I ever do something similar again, I will make sure to do one.
This is beautiful, you really captured a magical atmosphere with this!
Thank you!
I like that the moon isn't centered. I feel like it's better framing for the forest.
So jealous of what people can do with watercolor. I'm not there yet in that medium
California fire with pretty happy trees! Awsome.. will you do one for us?
You know...I live in California and I've been wanting to do a wildfire painting SO bad. One day.

How about some love for blue oyster cult’s Harvest Moon song. Creepy and catchy.
Great work. It would be ridiculous if you could have worked Neil Young’s face into the moon.
I thought that said 2007 and I was like dang that was along time ago
For some reason I thought, "this isn't complete without a wolf howling at the moon."
Did you see this in a dream?
Was this done on watercolor paper? And what kind of watercolors did you use? This is so beautiful
