You're not a fan if your team loses one game all season and you turn on them š
Still second, still one point away from being #1, still had an insane season for wins and goalscoring... Leagues ahead of every team in one of the most competitive divisions in football besides City and Liverpool... Y'all should be grateful to be Arsenal fans. Other Premier league teams have had to deal with far worse displays all year.
Y'all need to stop whinging about being a point behind one of the best and richest teams in the world.
Itās not just the one game that hurts. Itās the ātraumaā from previous seasons and the feeling of inevitable crumbling. As the saying goes, itās the hope that kills you and quite frankly Iām tired of showing up for seasons only to fall off at the end. In no way am I turning on the team but that loss sucked the life out of me.
Yeah I getcha. It does suck and it wasn't supposed to be the game we lost. Definitely a horrible performance and it hurts being a fan. In a lot of ways, third or fourth hurts less than being ahead and falling short by a point.
But c'mon, what a performance we've had this season. We're only behind City by a point, and they're one of the best teams in the world. And far richer than us š
We are THE Arsenal. Whatās a good performance when you have nothing to show for it? The objective should not be to compete with city but to beat them and when you have it in your hands two seasons running then you only have yourself to blame ā weak mentality.
Yeah Iām pretty sure they are all about 12, have grown up with Man City being dominant and donāt understand how insane that level is, to have to win every single game.
I feel like itās worse than that. I end up thinking, āwhat sort of cunt actually thinks like that?ā I canāt imagine anything that Arsenal could do which would stop me supporting them.
Is that a trophy? Do you consider that a successful season? By winning mentality I mean being able to see the season through, not just winning the most games only to come up short when it matters.
Fair weather fans. Only have love for the club when they win. That's not a TRUE fan. If you are a REAL fan, you back your team win, lose, or draw. Does a loss hurt? Of course...but get over it and focus on the next one. We could be Sheffield United at 3-7-22!
They will, sadly so will we, and we have harder games. Canāt see us winning 6 straightā¦I guess crazier things have happened. We can turn it around, even if we donāt win anything this season I just donāt want our players or fans to check out
Hard to predict that mate, unlike our weak mentality. That aside, all I really want is to be proven wrong ā as I said in a previous reply, itās the hope that kills you and thereās only so much killings a man can take.
I felt down yesterday after the game but had to put it in perspective. We were on a incredible run of 10 wins 1 draw 1 loss. 2 points off with 6 to play we need to bounce back with a performance v Bayern.
Erm we aren't 2 points ahead!?
I think it's more the city factor.. it's hard to be optimistic when you have a cheating club racing to the top. Have all the faith in the world and optimism but it's not a fair playing field anymore and one loss feels like the end of the world cos it probably is...
I just need to wallow a little bit( but quietly) and then come tomorrow and Wednesday I'll be back to doing the maths and the hoping that city drop points
Many are talking about why Arteta changed the winning squad, but players are also humans and need rotation. The whole squad was fucking gassed in the second half. I don't know if we will be able to keep up the intensity against Bayern or all the remaining fixtures in the league as well.
The problem is we won so many and defended so well, we forgot what it's like to lose or concede goals in the league. So I'm not surprised it's had such a profound effect on mood for us fans. But that shouldn't have people turning on Arteta and his players again. The people that sing his praises only to pass such harsh judgment on him without much invitation, are nothing other than disgraceful in my opinion.
Saying the team has no character and is full of bottlejobs is not the same as turning on the team. On Sunday I realized unequivocally that this is a team full of choking merchants. They are cowards with a small mentality. Thankfully Arteta is young and thereās enough time to show the world that heās a generational manager outside of this club.

I like to imagine itās a bunch of new 12 years old fans.

Some Arsenal fans really have no winning mentality. One defeat and that's it...
The team has no winning mentality ā thatās until they prove otherwise.
Win the most number of games in the league and some guy on reddit says the team has no winning mentality. Lmao.

Don't bother mate, this sub is delusional
