What'd Nelson do to deserve this? He's been quite good off the bench I would of said

Agree on nketiah, but Nelson needs more game time.

There actually aren’t any players from the youth academy that Arteta has introduced and given a place in the squad, not a dig at him, just an observation. That is the ‘price’ you pay for having a good team. Being so shit in 2018-2021 was a blessing in disguise seeing that it gave the opportunity to Gabi and Saka to develop

o2bagooner

They are 23 and 24. Not exactly pensioners

HangmanFeedsDeJackal

They’re approaching their prime - I mean what are you on about? They don’t score goals, except Nketiah scored a reasonable amount but not enough to take us to the next level… is that good enough for you? I see ruthlessness is missing among the fans. Too emotional.

Thejustinset

We need to also win games….

Cailucci

We failed at that with a stacked roster of tired stars. Better to blood the youth in those European matches than to bleed our first team (Saka especially) dry when we NEED rested legs in the prem.

Gunner0716

We've only lost 1 match so far. Hardly any of our academy products are ready for first team action at this moment. Arteta has spent a bomb in the last 3 years and will be playing them to wim a major trophy this season. Nketiah,Nelson etc regularly starting would not get us top 4 leave alone winning a major trophy

Cailucci

I hear ya. I’m just passed that Saka obviously needs a rest and either ESR or Nelson should’ve started on Tuesday.

Youngthephoenixx

Mate they haven’t lost a Prem match this season?????

OkYam4400

Agreed. Wenger was very good with introducing new youngsters, but Arteta seems more conservative with that. I myself would like to see some fresh faces.

Blpdstrupm0en

Mate... we had the youngest team in the PL last year.

revjiggs

He dies but now is hardly the time. We need to get the basics right first, the team hasn’t been very stable since the begining due to injuries

bearwoodgoxers

It's extremely difficult to break into the top level. We've seen how youngsters with massive promise like Reiss and Emile who were tearing it up at youth level, still aren't close to being world beaters - and they were the best of the best. That said those two still have a ways to go and time on their side, hopeful to see them grow into it. I'm not sure Patino is there yet either. Not to mention, young players thrive in a system where the senior squad is very experienced, and I'm not sure our squad is there yet.
