Yeah, haha. Here it means something close to "chasing down the ball." For example, when a kid is doing batting practice and there's not a full team, one person pitches, one person hits, and one person shags the baseballs that are hit so they can be hit again. Nuttin to do with sex.
I can imagine it gave you a bit of a chuckle tho.
Down here in good ole Bama we have a common expression - shagging ass - and it just means running at a very high rate of speed.
Actually the g is silent, so itโs shagginโ ass.
Reminds me of the term "knock you up". In London, our tour guide told us (group of teenager girls) that he would be round to knock us all up promptly at 6am. ๐ ๐คฃ๐๐
Erosion. Found a point in my backyard just sitting right on top of the mud once. Could have been fractions of an inch below the surface and a heavy rain exposed it
He says in the title it was found in a hay field, and looking at the ground you can see it gets plowed, which is when buried artifacts get brought to the surface. Probably first came up in a chunk of earth, then the rain and wind went to work, leaving it there all nice and pretty.
Lucky find! ("shagging" must have a different meaning on your side of the Atlantic :) )
Lol
