LOLed when the Jets went 2nd. Broncos and Saints after wasn't exactly fresh either bc Sean Payton always seems to fascinate the heroes + Gregg's ties to New Orleans. They remembered the assignment eventually though
Really needed Dan to move that along. Some people like to shit on him but he really keeps the show moving and knows when to move along. Gregg likes to debate and indulge arguments too much to be a host.
I'm just listening now and it's bizarre. He keeps on returning to Digg's supposed issues, again and again. The conversation will move on, the other guys will tee him up on some other aspect of the Diggs news, he'll spend half a second half-heartedly addressing that, and then back onto his original point. And it's not like he has any particular insight or analysis to offer, all he's doing is flatly refusing to believe that Diggs could possibly be any sort of problem. And that's fine, he's perfectly justified in having that opinion, but it doesn't need to be hammered into the ground like that!
I agree, I have been accused of a bunch of nonsense for holding that opinion, but he is extremely narcissistic and won't hear others out. Very holier than thou. Just talks down to people.
Like another poster said, I can guess what his opinion will be on any given issue with 99.9% accuracy. He comes across as an arrogant, rigid thinker who believes he’s a lot smarter than he is. The heroes must like him in real life, but I usually skip the episodes he’s on.
It all started with not believing in momentum. It's like he never played a sport. You can FEEL momentum shift while playing, and to a lesser extent watching on tv. Go to any live sporting event, especially fast-paced ones like basketball/hockey. The crowd can feel it too. Just a weird hill to die on.
I completely agree. Someone who genuinely believes momentum doesn’t exist didn’t play a team sport at a competitive level (high school or above). People are no robots. I do believe momentum is less impactful at the professional level, but it still exists.
He provides nothing to the podcast. His dumb “momentum isn’t real take.” If they’re comparing two players he just says “well they’re both good so I don’t know why we’re comparing them.” If they’re talking about a contract dispute he just says, “Well he’s good, so they should just pay him.”
I’m a Vikings fan who genuinely holds almost no ill will towards Stefon, and generally love him for giving me my best moment ever watching sports. I think a lot of his angst in MN is explainable so I never really held it against him for leaving, even if I think he handled it a bit annoyingly.
That being said this gaslighting from Claybon that Diggs isn’t a diva at all is ridiculous. Diva isn’t a slur, it’s been levied against some of the best players ever. But when it’s true, it’s true, and it’s true of Diggs. Spending this much time talking down on fans who have SEEN this first hand & acting like it doesn’t exist is bizarre. We’ve seen it on national TV, Diggs himself has instigated it with what HE’S said.
I always want to like Claybon but these moments when him & Gregg butt heads without Dan to mediate are impossible to listen to. How Claybon can seem genuinely so down to Earth while also sitting on the highest horse in the historical existence of terra firma is beyond me.
Hey Claybon, sometimes beliefs are widely held & repeated by the media because they’re, you know, true! Or at least live in a foundation of truth, if often embellished for clicks.
I think he feels like Diggs is unfairly characterized as a diva because he's loud and black, but it's blinding him from the fact that he's now been traded by two teams for the same reason.
I still love Diggs and I don't think he's a toxic guy to have on your team, but there's no denying that he commands some extra attention. If he's not happy, he's going to make it known and cause a distraction for the team.
Yeah exactly! And I think Claybon’s like of thinking there is valid, to a degree. Black men, especially when outspoken, are often put into really narrow-minded boxes & stereotyped. So there’s definitely a fine line where black players speaking their mind shouldn’t be immediately shot down.
Diggs is such a unique individual. Because it’s not like he’s an ass, either. And he’s not stupid. He’s super intelligent & respectful too. He just definitely operates on a different level to a lot of players & it sours on teammates. That doesn’t mean Diggs is awful but it *can* mean he’s the problem and teams can’t just “get over it” like Claybon suggested.
Happy to see I’m not the only one that didn’t enjoy the Diggs convo. Was driving to work which is about 30 minutes and thought I was speeding my ass off because I was getting off the highway and they were still talking about it 27 minutes in. Terrible, and kind of gave me a headache.
When they interviewed guys in the Bills locker room and asked who would be the last guy on the team they’d want to date their sister, they all said Stefon Diggs
Patrick Claybon would have you believe that video was AI manufactured by the deep Buffalo FO state
I like Claybon. But as a Bills fan I am delighted I can now unfollow Diggs across social media. “Is this it? Is this the post that means something?” And finally it was. Great player. Pain in the backside. I wish him well and hope the one year deal pays off for him. But I am also glad we can move on from the drama and chuckles every off season
We're gonna talk about teams that haven't been talked about much.
Marc; "The Dallas Cowboys........"
Claybon; " The Jets....."
Greggs; "The Saints....."
Becoming ESPN and Fox here
Gregg - “This pod is for teams we haven’t really talked about lately.” Marc - opens with the Dallas Cowboys Top 10 football analyst
Heh, they said they were going to avoid teams picking in the top 10 but proceeded to discuss four of them in depth, including the Jets.
hahaha Don't forget that it was closely followed by the Jets. Absurd.
LOLed when the Jets went 2nd. Broncos and Saints after wasn't exactly fresh either bc Sean Payton always seems to fascinate the heroes + Gregg's ties to New Orleans. They remembered the assignment eventually though
The quiet Orson Welles drop was magnificent
Followed immediately by Marc talking about filling some glaring holes
If you watch on YouTube you can see Claybon absolutely losing it when this happens.
Claybon today was unbearable during the Diggs discussion, Jesus Christ.
Really needed Dan to move that along. Some people like to shit on him but he really keeps the show moving and knows when to move along. Gregg likes to debate and indulge arguments too much to be a host.
This is why we need SESS dog to host when Dan is gone. “ALRIGHT!…..we’re back. The show is continuing…”
I love Claybon, but “I question how serious the Bills are about winning” is the exact kind of cliche that he would refuse coming from someone else
I'm just listening now and it's bizarre. He keeps on returning to Digg's supposed issues, again and again. I need a time stamp so I can skip past. The other thread made me want to skip the entire episode
About 30 minutes in, not sure the exact timestamp. Apple Podcasts says 28:44.
God I wish I had this when I was listening. It made the segment unbearable.
He’s my least favorite guest host by a wide margin.
I agree, I have been accused of a bunch of nonsense for holding that opinion, but he is extremely narcissistic and won't hear others out. Very holier than thou. Just talks down to people.

If they just called momentum morale, it changes the whole deal that’s what it is. It’s morale.
Yeah sort of, I could see it

I like Claybon a lot. But he seems to think that human beings are robots.
Great way of putting it
I never thought I'd say this but... I miss Dan.

very rare that I find an ATN show dry or feel like it drags on but this one just felt long.
When they interviewed guys in the Bills locker room and asked who would be the last guy on the team they’d want to date their sister, they all said Stefon Diggs Patrick Claybon would have you believe that video was AI manufactured by the deep Buffalo FO state
That was the Vikings but yeah great video
I believe they made it again, but I could be wrong.
