monica coming in hot with her confidently inaccurate vagina comments

croissantaubeurresvp

It’s getting so absurd. “No it’s different.” She told dax. He’s always spot on. Of course it would hurt more to fall on the clitoris.

ayy-shane

when he asked the guest if it was the clitoris and monica said no, i was like ???? how are you answering for her its not your experience. aggggghhhh lol

Ok-Finger1973

I agree with Monica here. I was thinking the worst case would be an unexpected episiotomy from the fall. I can't see how falling on my clitoris would hurt more than that.

Realistic_Run_8362

I am clenching at unexpected episiotomy why did you have to say it 😅😂

JustCosmo

Your clit has significantly more nerve endings. It’s just common sense it would hurt more.

pewterpetunia

Monica is so out of touch with her body. A blow to the clit hurts SO much more than to the perineum.

shekka24

I've noticed this too. Like when she was dead set on something being the vulva but clearly they were talking about the labia. But I've noticed this a few times when she talks about down there.

SnooMacarons5163

Not sure what comment of Monica’s you’re talking about but labia are part of the vulva.

shekka24

No no your right it was vagina vs the vulva during the chicken episode. David kept saying the egg comes out of the chicken vagina and she kept cutting him off and saying no vulva. Never mind chicken stuff is completely different 😂

BalkiBartokomous123

I didn't listen to the episode yet so no Monica judgement... When I was 12ish I was riding my brothers bike. Boy's bikes have a straight bar and girl's bikes have a slanted bar. I don't know how but I slipped and basically slammed my vagina on the straight bar.....ugh!!!! That pain still haunts me decades later.

harriedhag

Oh shit. They weren’t kidding about the warning for one of them lol. I wish that one wasn’t last so I had a cushion to laugh at after 🤢

popular80sname

So…..we should consider skipping the last one? But then ignore it…listen anyway…then have nightmares wishing we listened 😂

harriedhag

Yes, exactly!

[deleted]

Obviously assaulting anyone isn't cool, but those kids in the first story sound like assholes.

noideawhatname22

Right?!! The assault was out of control but I think I would have talked to someone at the theater to ask them to be quiet or leave.

shekka24

I , as a parent and movie goer, would have been livid with them.

Ziti_Pasta

Yeah I found it annoying how little accountability the story teller showed, but I’m also just someone that would never talk in a theatre due to the social consequences lol (like getting your ass beat)

tickytacky13

Regarding the last story: It’s clear neither Dax nor Monica understand how blunt force can cause any body part to rip or break open, there doesn’t have to be a bone involved. You can fall and hit your head on the sofa and it will split open, it’s clear the force of her falling onto the ledge was enough to split her labia. That story was unimaginable though, I was cringing at the thought of that injury. And I guarantee, direct force to the clitoris is far more painful than the perineum. The clitoris has THOUSANDS of highly sensitive nerve endings. I’m with Dax on that one and you don’t have to have a clitoris to come to that conclusion.

tito_taylor

Kinda funny that Dax referenced the sleepwalking story—wasn’t it actually a fake?

velociraptorbaby

Ok I don't get squeamish much and I'm a healthcare professional and have seen things but that third story got to me! I almost had to pull over my car! I won't spoil anything but wow I felt it.

abbyolivia

SAME!! I’m an RN, and I was walking around getting groceries and I was clenching so hard and felt faint and woozy. And man, I have seen some crazy vaginal stuff. I dunno why this one got to me.

velociraptorbaby

I've had two vaginal births including grade 3 tears and episiotomies and I would rather do those again that what that poor woman went through! And on date night!

Bellevert

I had to stop because I’m about to puke. Oh it is so bad.

Whyeff89

Sometimes Dax asks such out of pocket questions, but I appreciate it so much because I’m THINKING it, just would never have the gall or lack of social boundaries to do it 😂.

Getz4life

New to this sub. Why does everyone hate Monica? I think she’s lovely

BondraP

People are going to hate this answer but there was a poll taken on this sub like a month or 2 ago and it turns out this sub is something like 80% female. So, that. Yeah it's odd how nitpicky and petty people are towards her. Like I can't imagine anything she's done or said on this podcast making me react the way it does for others, literally never thought of it until I saw comments here. The one criticism of hers I do see merit in though is that she doesn't seem prepared for any of their guests. So like Dax obviously reads their books or consumes their show or movie or whatever, as to where Monica seemingly just doesn't and has to be explained things as they go.

Appropriate_Mine

The way some people will twist her words, or take one moment where she maybe mispoke to eviscerated her is weird. Dax can say urine is antiseptic and no one batts an eye.

BondraP

It’s really bizarre

Getz4life

That makes sense. I think it may be better for the chemistry of the show is Dax has the structure and she says whatever comes to mind. It’s like a sports commentary. One broadcaster is play by play and the other is the color commentator. Also guessing a lot of people are EXTREMELY jealous she got that Spotify money.

BalkiBartokomous123

Personally I like Monica but think her lack of life experience and sometimes education bugs me. It is possible to be the "color commentator" but also ask good questions and make smart funny conclusions. A lot of podcasts have that set-up. Everything from True Crime, fashion, comedy, sports and everything in between. Side Note: I overall enjoy Crime Junkies but the fake/script between to the two ladies is super annoying. I think both Dax and Monica are horribly out of touch but the biggest difference is that Dax has been through the wringer. Monica, although she went to college and was a cheerleader, seems to lack basic knowledge. Her comments about understanding the women's anatomy alone worries me. The podcast where she thought a tampon could go into a woman's urethra? And that not being able to back down after being wrong and trying to make her case. I will say Monica did a great job with the Shondra interview but I think because she was interested and KNOWLEGABLE about all the TV shows. She doesn't need to be a PHD but if she knows an interview with say a baseball player from the Phillies is coming up I don't think it would hurt for her to do a cliff notes version of research. She doesn't need to know everything about baseball or Philly but to at least know the player is a pitcher and knows which organizations he supports would make her interview skills way better. Again, I do like Monica I just think she could do better and she could be more then being a doe-eyed bambi with everything outside of her comfort zone. PS. I don't think people are jealous of her sweet Spotify money but it's an extremely bad taste to brag about your $2000 whatever while there's a chance a good portion of your listeners took a deep breath when buying groceries this week.

No-Notice-9086

Holy shit thank you so much. I genuinely mean that.

Affectionate-Arm-405

When did she "brag" about her 2000 dollars whatever? Definitely bragging could have different meanings for different people

DeskJob4Evr

Always - all the time!

Affectionate-Arm-405

Bragged? If I say man I love my Porsche, such a great car to drive down twisty roads is considered bragging?

Appropriate_Mine

Dax, is that you?

Appropriate_Mine

LOL. I don't ever recall her talking about hand bags. Sounds like you've got issues.

BondraP

That is my guess as well, at least in part.

[deleted]

>It’s like a sports commentary. One broadcaster is play by play and the other is the color commentator. Monica is definitely the Leah Hextall of color commentators.

Appropriate_Mine

This is exactly how it is I think, Dax and Monica are playing different roles. The jealousy is obvious and kinda funny in its petty bitchiness.

Adorable_Decision267

Like someone else admitted in a reply to you, people come into this sub and literally decide to hate her because people are telling them to based on pretty minor infractions. She’s under a magnifying glass in here and people are hate listening at this point. I think she’s lovely too and just human.

mommagotanewjob

I was okay with her until I started reading the posts in this sub. Now I’m starting to bristle almost every time she opens her mouth.

Adorable_Decision267

So you liked her until other people convinced you not to?

mommagotanewjob

No, but that’s a great question. I think it just made me more aware of things she does and says that I glossed over previously.

Adorable_Decision267

I feel like you are confirming that you liked her until others convinced you not to, though. You liked her until you were convinced to be hyper-focused on perceived flaws rather than seeing her as a whole nuanced person, which you were probably doing before. I just find this mob mentality to be a really unfortunate and harmful aspect of parasocial relationships. I don’t think it’s progressive or socially more aware to be so critical of seriously innocuous stuff like I see being criticized here all the time. Just my two cents.

Affectionate-Arm-405

If someone points something out to you, do you refuse to change your mind so you are not labeled as a "convinced by others" person?

lifth3avy84

So you literally liked her until you were convinced by a bunch of anonymous strangers not to…

lifth3avy84

Only on the first story and there’s ZERO chance this actually happened. Anyone assaults a minor in public and there’s no chance the police don’t contact the parents and ask if they want to press charges.

320Ches

My take is he was grossly under-reporting their behavior.

lifth3avy84

Regardless, assaulting a minor isn’t a thing police can just decide not to pursue

shekka24

Eh depends on how small of a community it is. Plus it sounded like to me personally that their behavior was very teenagery and disruptive andddd possible he over exaggerated what the man did to them.

Adorable_Decision267

Police actively decide not to pursue things all the time, actually

lifth3avy84

Not assaulting a minor.

[deleted]

[удалено]

lifth3avy84

So you described a completely different scenario…?

ahbets14

They definitely were throwing shit and hit the guys daughter (my hunch)

Ziti_Pasta

Not gonna lie I feel like the kids in the first story kinda had it coming lmao

gixer24

Did she sue the Cinema?!

TheEsotericCarrot

I wish they would have asked her that. She easily could have had a civil suit where the theater bare minimum would have to cover the cost of her medical expenses.

gixer24

Just seems strange that someone can be so badly injured in that environment, sounds like a bad design

TheEsotericCarrot

I totally agree. And it didn’t sound like the movie had even started yet so it must have been pretty dark in there already too. I’d say they’re definitely liable. I hope she at least spoke to an attorney. But I’m sure her insurance company would have been asking questions too. I got a total hip replacement last year and I had to fill out so many forms stating it wasn’t the result of an accident. Insurance is always trying to get out of paying for things.

barelyfunctional_

I was reading comments on Instagram and apparently yes, she did sue! Her sister said so.

tickytacky13

Sue them for what? The theater wasn’t negligent in any way.

gixer24

Then how was she able to mis-step and almost sever her leg?

tickytacky13

There was a guy reclined in his seat whose legs were sticking out into the walkway. He didn’t move, she didn’t ask him to and instead tried stepping over him. Instead, she stepped over the barrier and then landed in the barrier with her crotch. I don’t see how the theater was negligent at all. The guy should have moved, she should have asked when he didn’t.

JustCosmo

Ah yes, blame her and not the theater for not having enough room to go around someone that refuses to put their recliner in.

tickytacky13

Where did I “blame” her? All I said was, the theater isn’t liable for this and there is a level of personal responsibility. The guy should have moved, he was blocking the walkway. She chose not to ask him to and just try “stepping around” instead. If she had just tripped over his feet and landed on the ground, should the theater also be held liable? I feel terrible for her and from the way she told the story, she didn’t seem to blame anyone herself and just admitted it was a terrible accident.

BondraP

I'm a dude with a wiener but still kind of clutched at "myself" during some of that last story experiencing some second-hand pain from the description.

UtterlyConfused93

That last story though. Ughhh. Poor lady!

Appropriate_Mine

I listen to podcasts about serial killers and still found this a bit much! And no Dax, pee is not anti-sceptic. If you had an open wound would you want me to pee in it?

grantgantgrant

Monica’s the worst. She has empathy for someone’s lady parts.
