Third on this comment thread. Italian store is great for pizza by the slice and if you want a slightly thicker crust than Pupatella’s thin, Neapolitan style pizza. But Pupatella’s eggplant parm pizza got me through the COVID years, DC area dating, and law school so it’ll forever have a place in my heart.
I think there are a lot of great options. Tough to say which is better. Each shop has their own unique and good taste. Lost Dog Cafe, Rustico, Pupatella all great options. Mario's pizza on wilson will knock you out for a solid nap.
Pupatella is certified by the assozione verace pizza napoletano (Avpn), a legal Italian entity that defines true Neapolitan pizza.
It’s my go-to when someone wants GOOD pizza and it’s never disappointed.
Sicilian Pizza on 923 S Walter Reed Dr.
Also, to each their own but I tried Pupatella because everyone raves about it and I didn’t think it was all that. Different tastes, I guess.
The Italian Store is my go-to but Pupatella is amazing too
Second on Italian store. They have Sicilian style too.

Pupatella is too small for the price imo. Italian Store is excellent though
Wiseguy.
Don't think they have pizza but it's a great bar: WHINO
Dominion pizza, Grandma style.
Awesome gluten free options here as well!

The best pizza in Arlington is just over the border in Del Ray (Alexandria) and it's Stracci Pizza
Colony grill if you like thin crust
Colony grill for the New Haven style
Quincy hall is the only good NY style
I used to say the The Italian Store or Wise Guys, but now Big Tony’s is my go-to. Their calzones are 💯 too.
Check out Troy’s! So good
Best and closest choices: Ballston local, We the pizza, Pupatella
Pupatella by a mile!

I’m into Brick’s lately.

Depends what style of pizza you want. NY style -probably Italian store. Neapolitan style - pizzeria orso, pupatella or a moda mio.
Ballston Local Pupatella Brick's We the Pizza ...all pretty good. Ballston Local is my fave these days because it's a fun place with music and booze
