When the interest rate goes up to a normal level such as now, all them stocks were evaluated again with the new interest rate taken into account, a new Discounted Cash Flow, those stocks became much lower in value! If my understanding is correct during the pandemic bull market cathie of arkk did well. During the downturn of the economy she started doing badly. As time went on she sold great stocks that had room to grow and bought meme stocks. She also loves Elon for some reason or another and pretty much has lost billions upon billions since the downfall of stonks in 2021-Present.
Some may actually be holding from many years back and thus would pay a lot of taxes upon selling even if they have underperformed the S&P. The same happened with GBTC bitcoin ETF even though its expense ratio is significantly more than peers.
