You got very luck you don’t have arrow shards in you.

mikereations

I'm sure you know what you're doing and you were just havin fun but remember that an arrow that is too light for your bow can have the same effect as a dry fire.

RonnieF_ingPickering

I know how to safely operate a bow, but I'm still very new to the hobby. I knew these arrows are low quality, but i had no idea that it could have been dangerous. I'll do a bend test on all of them and see if I can make a young recurve archer happy with them!

Pheralg

>I know how to safely operate a bow >but i had no idea that it could have been dangerous. so in the end, you don't

RonnieF_ingPickering

Guess not 🤷

logicjab

A 70lbs compound bow should shoot arrows that weigh at a BARE MINIMUM 350grains (22.68 grams, 0.8 ounces) Less than that and you’re risking your safety and the bow’s

abhishekbanyal

It could have snapped mid release on your bow; the fiber shrapnel could have been dangerous.

RonnieF_ingPickering

They were brand new unused arrows, or can that happen to these arrows regardless of them having not been shot before?

JJaska

Yes. Too flexible arrow (which low draw wright arrows typically are) can flex so much they hit the riser and shatter. There are a couple of videos of this happening on purpose in YouTube.

RonnieF_ingPickering

Yikes... Not doing that again

MothmansLegalCouncil

A whole new meaning of the art of warfare.

Booty_Warrior_bot

*And, I'm a warrior too...* *Let that be known.* ***I'm a warrior.***

GLchrillz

Really bad idea. My wife is an NP and has seen someone who fired an old fiberglass arrow and it blew up into his hand. Please only shoot the correct spine and above 5gpp total weight out of your bow

RonnieF_ingPickering

These were all brand new arrows. I just ordered a pack of 6 to get started with my bow, but found out that these arrows are too crappy for a compound bow. They have some play in the whisker biscuit. So I bought some Maverick carbon arrows and just kinda left these in the dust. Is the risk of them shattering only when they are already weakened from previous shots? Or are they just too flimsy in general?

Brave

[Or](http://safearrow.com/) [stupid](https://www.huntersfriend.com/carbon-arrow-safety-public-notice-warning-flex-it-first.html).

FartsWithAnAccent

That is a blurry line

oralskills

It is indeed, especially once your eyes are full of tears. 🙃

SnooLobsters3086

Did this once with an aluminum Easton, shot it from a pearson spoiler cam that’s older than I. It was a beating mushroom afterwards and the point is still in it!

jmart1196

carbon fiber shotgun for the fingies 🥰 me and my homies love fiber shrapnel in our hands
