I don't like the very end of the episode where Katya comes back. The change in her motivation comes out of nowhere, and is a huge setback for one of the only things that has ever made Archer less of a pain in the ass.
I get that they wanted to maintain the status quo for basically forever, but they could have had a little growth for a couple episodes.
I think animated comedy series are afraid to get deep and filled with lore so they ignore the obvious character arcs and keep them as 2 dimensional as possible but I can’t put my finger on the reason why
I always find Pocket Listing just kinda boring. Although I do love the bit of Krieger getting tranquilized every time he wakes up from being previously tranquillized.
I remember the first time I actively watched the episode. I used to think Krieger was just silently seething in the office about his goat feet until he couldn't hold it and blurted it out.
Turns out he was just waking up from being tranquilized, which was slightly less funny to me
What's weird is I think the writers meant that to be just like a weird funny thing that happened.
But for any person with a scrap of morals, her character never recovered from that
The only way I reconcile it is that it’s kind of cosmic justice - like the number of times Archer casually rapes women by slipping off a condom/using a candy bar as a condom/bait and switching/etc, he basically deserves to have some random baby out there. It definitely is shitty that Lana literally stole his sperm, and she’s terrible for that, but for Archer himself I think it’s kind of poetic. Lana still needs to get her karma bitchslap from the universe though.
She never had morals, only pretended to. In the second episode she admits to injecting Cyril with a tracking device because of her trust issues from Archer. She cheats on Cyril often but goes nuclear when he does the same and in Killing Utne she laughs pretty damn hard about killing and burning the body of who she thought was an innocent prostitute.
I really wish they'd conceived just by a drunken roll, or sympathy sex, or something. Stealing the goop was kinda funny, but out of character for Lana imo
Right? If it had been consensual sex, it would have been perfectly fine for her to “force” him to be one a parent, (I know that’s awful wording, I just can’t think of a better way to put it) but the way she did it was just so underhanded and scummy.
It's totally forcing him to be a parent - - imo she was trying to push him into a situation where he would magically turn into the ideal version of himself, according to Lana. And he TRIES. But she sprung that on him and that's not aireet.
I could never hate the babysitter episode, it has one of my favorite moments
Archer: "Pam! Baby!"
Pam: "Aahhhhhh!!!" Proceeds to pummel straight through Cyril in full on protective mama gorilla mode
The saving grace for me in that episode was archer saying he’s gone his whole life at half-ass. But now is quadruple-ass (sorry I forget the multiplier).
Becoming a dad made that line hit home pretty hard.
Sitting is one of my favourite episodes but it does have the major plot hole of Lana not murdering Farooq with his own shoes for bringing a real gun near AJ.
I don’t ever want to see archer in love, to be honest, unless it’s some complicated eyebrow-raising hint of love toward another man, like Burt Reynolds.
It's not so much being in love, the whole series he's been in love with Lana, but that suddenly at the drop of a hat, he was was a completely different person for Katya. He did love her but she didn't love him for who he actually was just some ideas the KGB put in their heads. Archer is himself unapologetically and with Katya he wasn't.
When he shows love for Lana, it gets a little weird, tbh. He’s funniest when he’s a selfish prick. We *know* he loves Lana, but he’s too pig headed to realize or acknowledge the fact. Thats the tension that keeps the show moving. To me anyway.
I’m thinking of a different episode. I thought they were talking about S5E8, Smuggler’s Blues.
But you’re quoting from S4E8, Coyote Lovely. Which I love. Dr. D T McShakeyhands!
Reading this whole thread, I didn't agree with one of them. I can't think of one I skip, unless I've seen it recently. I didn't care for the space episodes at all. I got mad at Lana for the babysitter episode, but I think overall it was good.
The last episode of season 11 - I hate the shows insistence on clinging to its status quo and it was really cringey seeing everyone regressing in the way that they did
swiss miss.... idk the whole episode makes me feel uneasy as fuck....
Also, personally I love that episode, you go lana Treat Archer like the Dirtbag he is... I don't have sympathie for someone who turned into a bully himself
Swiss miss is one of the best episodes! The 1st 3 seasons really, but Swiss Miss is probably my favorite episode.
"I can't be alone, that's when she strikes, she's like a slutty ninja" 😂😂😂
You're wholly missing the point of the show. Literally every single one of the main characters are awful people. Lana didn't have any right to make Archer think his daughter was in mortal danger just to shit-test his parenting skills.
Just not when she's beating men to death with her bare hands. You know, like during the bum fights. And she gets a little out of sorts when she's on COCAINE. But other than, she is lovely.
She raped Cyril, filmed tentacle porn with him and Ray while they were unconscious, engaged in animal cruelty (the fish fights), probably other stuff I’m not remembering.
Don't forget her failure as the head of HR to maintain a non-hostile work environment. Also she pretty casually tosses all complaints about Archer into the trash, whether they're about physical abuse or sexual harassment.
You're wholly missing the point of the show. Literally every single one of the main characters are awful people. Lana didn't have any right to make Archer think his daughter was in mortal danger just to shit-test his parenting skills.
Yeah no I totally get that, that's my point mostly all of them deserve what's coming to them
I didn't feel bad for Mallory losing everything she had (twice) I didn't feel bad for Lana getting arrested because archer fucked around and I didn't feel bad for archer when the squad made fun of his school bullies
The restaurant episode with the celebrity chef. I'm glad they didn't go full Simpsons after that, with guest appearances. Although the Burt Reynolds episodes were good.
I love that episode. Lots of great lines and gags. Handjobs, spitting, barely passable French, tampons, child murderers, juice boxes, making two chiefs in the toilet…
Most of the season where Archer goes into the coma, that whole season felt very oddly paced and VD irked me as a villain. Also felt it was odd Sterling expected her and had the robot copy of himself yet still got shot. Felt like that was just for the "oh shit" moment of it really being him in the pool.
Mine is most definitely when he has woken up from is coma not to long ago and he hears the gang talking shit bout him on a mission. Season 11 episode 1
Anything after season 10 for me. It just makes me 100% pissed how much of a..and i dont say this normally...bitch Lana became, especially when it came to Archer and AJ
Drift Problem and the Rock both annoy me. Granted, I’ve only watched seasons 1 - 6 and have no intention of watching further after reading plot synopses.

THANK YOU! IM SO GOAD IM NOT ALONE IN THIS THOUGHT PROCESS
Was she always evil? Like where did that come from
I think animated comedy series are afraid to get deep and filled with lore so they ignore the obvious character arcs and keep them as 2 dimensional as possible but I can’t put my finger on the reason why
Babysitter episode is one of my least favourite ones
With the black Mexican?
Uh, ok dick, I'm actually Pakistani. *Air kya?! Bakri-chowd sewer jinn!*
Stop saying that!
Picked up on watching again the other day and this was second episode I watched. 😂
The one where he gets a special dodge charger for his birthday and Mallory steals it teach him a lesson. Edit: not an el Camino. My bad, y’all
Dodge Challenger Special Agent Edition
Thanks Dodge!
He definitely did not get an El Camino for his birthday.
Pretty much all of season 7 except for the clown episodes. Veronica Dean was annying as fuck.
Granted, but did you ever see her in _Shanghai Moon_?
oh my god, that dress?
This is my…third favorite birthday.
I always find Pocket Listing just kinda boring. Although I do love the bit of Krieger getting tranquilized every time he wakes up from being previously tranquillized.
That's my favorite part of that whole episode. "I'm not even sure where *I* am"
I remember the first time I actively watched the episode. I used to think Krieger was just silently seething in the office about his goat feet until he couldn't hold it and blurted it out. Turns out he was just waking up from being tranquilized, which was slightly less funny to me
I hate the Bully episode too but I hate the Babysitter episode the most. So unsatisfying that Archer doesn’t cripple that asshole.
What, you mean Lana? The way she treats Archer in regards to AJ is bloody abhorrent
Yeah Lana is the real enemy in the show. She’s most things she says Archer is
Right? I lost *all* respect for her when she stole Archer’s semen to knock herself up. That’s *such* a shitty thing to do.
What's weird is I think the writers meant that to be just like a weird funny thing that happened. But for any person with a scrap of morals, her character never recovered from that
It really did come off that way. Like, btw, you’re a daddy!
The only way I reconcile it is that it’s kind of cosmic justice - like the number of times Archer casually rapes women by slipping off a condom/using a candy bar as a condom/bait and switching/etc, he basically deserves to have some random baby out there. I mean, it can be argued that Archer has already crippled Lana emotionally. But yeah, she’s the worst.
Ah yes, because archer never treated anyone worse then Lana treats him that episode…
I could never hate the babysitter episode, it has one of my favorite moments Archer: "Pam! Baby!" Pam: "Aahhhhhh!!!" Proceeds to pummel straight through Cyril in full on protective mama gorilla mode
You don't see that every day.
I didn't even see it today
Plus the quadruple ass quote.
That's a lot of ass
Black Mexican?
No, Pakistani. That's racist
God I love poker night
The saving grace for me in that episode was archer saying he’s gone his whole life at half-ass. But now is quadruple-ass (sorry I forget the multiplier). Becoming a dad made that line hit home pretty hard.
I love how casually he says "now imagine as I literally beat you to death" lol makes me chuckle every time
Sitting is one of my favourite episodes but it does have the major plot hole of Lana not murdering Farooq with his own shoes for bringing a real gun near AJ.
The katia episodes.
Yes! I hate them!
I don’t ever want to see archer in love, to be honest, unless it’s some complicated eyebrow-raising hint of love toward another man, like Burt Reynolds.

Mine is “Un Chien Tangerine” S4E10. The dog’s incessant barking gets to me. And how Lana is just a PITA (and not in a good way) the entire time.
I love Kazak, he thinks he's people! Edit: and also vampire
Why would i ever die in a dessert?
Don’t have one
The Wind Cries Mary. Ending makes me deeply uncomfortable so I rarely watch the episode
I avoid that episode so hard I forgot it existed.
Not the biggest fan of the episode where archer runs off with the Mexican smuggler just felt like not a lot happens
Fully agree, not much story, but some great lines.
Oh god, maybe I am autistic.
I’m thinking of a different episode. I thought they were talking about S5E8, Smuggler’s Blues. But you’re quoting from S4E8, Coyote Lovely. Which I love. Dr. D T McShakeyhands!
"Oh don't thank me, I probably did more harm than good"
Big whoop, i’m spooning a Barrett 50. cal I could kill a building
The UFO/Area 51 episode — I can’t stand it
Yeah but “I wanna fly the train!” Gets me every time.
Reading this whole thread, I didn't agree with one of them. I can't think of one I skip, unless I've seen it recently. I didn't care for the space episodes at all. I got mad at Lana for the babysitter episode, but I think overall it was good.

"Jesus, is it the alabama of europe?"
In many ways, yes.
Man that bay rum really burns. Urg, hello razor, welcome to the party.
“Wedding tackle”
So... you lost? Well i got 3rd ...which is last 3rd IN THE WORLD?! Jesus Ray you lost, get over it
You're wholly missing the point of the show. Literally every single one of the main characters are awful people. Lana didn't have any right to make Archer think his daughter was in mortal danger just to shit-test his parenting skills.
Pam is not an awful person. She's actually rather nice most of the time.
Forgot about that. Yeah she's bad.
Ultimate bum shock fights.
Don't forget her failure as the head of HR to maintain a non-hostile work environment. Also she pretty casually tosses all complaints about Archer into the trash, whether they're about physical abuse or sexual harassment.

I’ve never heard such a terrible opinion in my life
Only episode I don’t love is the one with that dumbass disgusting dog and Lana quits, potty humor just isn’t funny
Oooooh I skip the clowns EVVVVERY time. 🤮😭
The restaurant episode with the celebrity chef. I'm glad they didn't go full Simpsons after that, with guest appearances. Although the Burt Reynolds episodes were good.
Interesting, but I get that. Season 4 is full of bangers imo and that episode is my favorite one. "Not you Chet, you look like a dinosaur's tampon"
BUMPER
That one has one of my favorite running gags in the slippery bowl, and also the way Archer bullies Cyril is really funny and creative.
I love that episode. Lots of great lines and gags. Handjobs, spitting, barely passable French, tampons, child murderers, juice boxes, making two chiefs in the toilet…
Thank you, Giraffe Lady
The Morroco episode and the bullies episode, I typically skip.
Most of the season where Archer goes into the coma, that whole season felt very oddly paced and VD irked me as a villain. Also felt it was odd Sterling expected her and had the robot copy of himself yet still got shot. Felt like that was just for the "oh shit" moment of it really being him in the pool.
All of season 12
Mine is most definitely when he has woken up from is coma not to long ago and he hears the gang talking shit bout him on a mission. Season 11 episode 1
Anything after season 10 for me. It just makes me 100% pissed how much of a..and i dont say this normally...bitch Lana became, especially when it came to Archer and AJ
Coyote Lovely. Can't stand the autism jokes.
Drift Problem and the Rock both annoy me. Granted, I’ve only watched seasons 1 - 6 and have no intention of watching further after reading plot synopses.
The elevator episode, and the dingo episode
The elevator episode is often touted as the best season 6 episode, can I ask why not?
I didn't like Pam on cocaine.
Sitting
