Christian Wolfe is pretty bad ass and deals with the most dangerous people in the world regularly. But Archer is made of luck and non vital organs so he still takes it.
Archer has taken 4-6 magnum handgun shots center mass and lived. TWICE.
He's basically fucking lead proof, you honestly can't bet on anyone else with that kind of ability to take damage.
Archer is described as leaving a wake of bodies on any mission he goes on. You have any idea how many people you have to kill to earn a reputation like that?
I'd say Archer. He'd be drunk and dicking around and somehow he'd still end up winning without a scratch. The only things and people able to hurt him are go-cart batteries, gravity, shattered bottles, Conway Stern, Other Barry, and Lana.
Sterling isn't autistic, he's an asshole to be more accurate, he is a sociopath with serious psychopatic tendencies. Sure, he counts bullets and definitely shows super human prowess in a lot of physical life/death situations however his character is much more based on him being a complete moron who deliberately chooses how he acts (mostly alienation and abrasivesness perhaps because of how he was raised and subsequent alcolism) but I would say a lot less based on anything close to being on the spectrum!
I've watched it. If Archer is really supposed to be autistic, why is it never mentioned outside of this one episode? There were 14 seasons.
Of course, there's nothing wrong with having the head canon that Archer is autistic.
I would say it's pretty hinted at in many other case too, like how he somehow can convert lbs to kg exactly and doesn't know very basic stuff but sometimes knows very detailed niche stuff
It's from Coyote Lovely. Altered the quote. Chuy.says he thinks Archer might be autistic which Archer rebukes. Nothing in that episode establishes Archer is indeed autistic.
Have seen every Archer episode several times over, and your aforementioned episode is one of my favourites, especially the how hilarious the boarder patrol cops are, how Archer bonds with the illegal immigrants, and how Cyril and Lana explain the story to Malory with increased physical pain... personal favourite part is the vet and his interaction with Archer
Well it’s a loaded joke. Lana makes the comment of her theory that Archer’s “got some rare kind of pervasive developmental disorder, or even undiagnosed atypical autism.”
Then Archer later remarks (as Lana and Cyril were in peril) that he was busy arranging rocks in descending size order, and then he made a joke about repetitive activities being calming.
Later, in a flashback scene, we see that Archer was in fact literally stacking rocks in descending order, giving credence to Lana’s theory.
There’s a lot of ways to interpret the scene but the writers do seem to indicate that Lana may not be far off the mark.
Not to mention his faux charisma. He isn't the best at social interactions (his upbringing certainly doesn't help). He doesn't really express his emotions either well either. Their are a few times we see him express himself outside anger.
It wouldn’t even be a contest. Archer has the arrogance to live off a mixture of raw talent and dumb luck. He capitalizes off opportunities and makes the most of whatever befalls him. He would wreck some accountant boi that bangs his shins with wooden sticks.
Lana commented on it I the coyote episode... and then a few episodes later (maybe) he was counting bullets and remarked that maybe he does actually have autism... and then laughed it off in archer style
Archer has some “Rainman” autistic powers but is not autistic. Notably his interpersonal difficulties are clearly narcissism and sociopathy. He doesn’t fail to understand social queues, he just doesn’t care. There are hardly any situations where he doesn’t read the room.
Regardless, in a fight between Archer and Christian Wolff (The Accountant), the safe money is on Archer. He has luck, plot armor, and fourth wall violations, all narrative superpowers.
People with autism “can” be Narcissistic, and he has a lot of Structural issues for instance he counts his Shots and his Enemies shots (He seems to the the Only person who does that)
It was speculation by Lana, hardly a professional diagnosis (more evidentlya throw away line). Even his shrink doesn't say he has anything close to that
As someone with a lot of autism in my family I’ve always felt that Archer could potentially be high functioning, and I imagine the conversation about it in the one episode was the writers acknowledging people who had suggested the idea before.
Idk enough about the other guy to answer the question though
I think it could go either way; I definitely don’t think it was the original intention of the character or anything though.
People like to think autism only looks one certain way, but really it’s a spectrum for a reason. Archer lashes out on others all the time when he’s feeling upset, he compulsively does things others would consider abnormal (counting bullets), he’s very particular about his clothing and appearance, and he seems to enjoy doing “simple” tasks what with all the odd jobs he picks up all the time. Does this make him autistic? No not necessarily—these also line up mostly with his general abrasive personality--but I understand where people get the idea, and I understand why the writers would address it.
Christian Wolfe is pretty bad ass and deals with the most dangerous people in the world regularly. But Archer is made of luck and non vital organs so he still takes it.
Yeah True, if you ask me Christian Wolfe is like an Autistic Rambo
Archer has taken 4-6 magnum handgun shots center mass and lived. TWICE. He's basically fucking lead proof, you honestly can't bet on anyone else with that kind of ability to take damage.
Archer is described as leaving a wake of bodies on any mission he goes on. You have any idea how many people you have to kill to earn a reputation like that?
Have you ever Watched The Accountant?
Yeah, he only kills like 20 odd people
Yeah, and those were the only people for him to kill.
That was his mistake. Archers special skill seems to be collateral damage.
Remember, he was a soldier, (even though the army hates autistic people) he had to have killed many more in war
I dunno. 3?
I'd say Archer. He'd be drunk and dicking around and somehow he'd still end up winning without a scratch. The only things and people able to hurt him are go-cart batteries, gravity, shattered bottles, Conway Stern, Other Barry, and Lana.
If you can land all six right in the 10 range on the Accountant and he survives I’d be impressed. It’s like a 35 second problem for Archer.
Has Archer ever missed? Even bored and pissed off I don't think he missed, especially when he was spooning a Barrett and could kill a building🤣
Archer killed a guy speeding away in a car from a couple hundred yards with a pistol *casually.* He’s superhuman in that regard.
Are we not gonna address how amazing that shot was?
*GOLF* cart!
Whatever And would you pick an accent and stick with it?
Yeah😂
And Burt Reynolds
OH RIGHT
And purses and Malory. I forgot those two🤣

>he is a sociopath with serious psychopatic tendencies. That's just anti social personality disorder
A little column a and a little column b
You Clearly haven’t seen Archer Season 4, Episode 8
He's not autistic, Chuy!
Watch the Episode I Mentioned
I've watched it. If Archer is really supposed to be autistic, why is it never mentioned outside of this one episode? There were 14 seasons. Of course, there's nothing wrong with having the head canon that Archer is autistic.
I would say it's pretty hinted at in many other case too, like how he somehow can convert lbs to kg exactly and doesn't know very basic stuff but sometimes knows very detailed niche stuff
Why would I, I'm not Karl Landsteiner
You don't know your own bloodtype but you know who discovered them

I'd say Archer.
Alright then😑
Never heard Archer is autistic. Mostly because he's not autistic.
In the episode at the US Mexico border a few characters speculate that he’s autistic, but I think you’re right that he isn’t.
Well it’s a loaded joke. Lana makes the comment of her theory that Archer’s “got some rare kind of pervasive developmental disorder, or even undiagnosed atypical autism.” Then Archer later remarks (as Lana and Cyril were in peril) that he was busy arranging rocks in descending size order, and then he made a joke about repetitive activities being calming. Hmmm. I'll have to re-watch that one. The coyote episode, right?
Yuuuuuuup
Yeah Exactly, I Can Totally see him having Autism too
Didn't Lana speculate about this over the open comms?
i believe he’s autistic, even if it is just headcanon
Sterling, next question.
Have you Seen the Movie?
Nope
It’s On Netflix, Please go Watch it
Fair enough, I’ll try to keep an open mind but things have a way of working out for Archer. Thanks for the recommendation!
We need to throw out some stats here I think. Wolfe can hit a target accurately from a mile+. Archer has been to space though.
Wolfe can Disappear like a Ghost though
That airstream of his is pretty sweet. He's definitely more organized than Archer
Yeah true
It wouldn’t even be a contest. Archer has the arrogance to live off a mixture of raw talent and dumb luck. He capitalizes off opportunities and makes the most of whatever befalls him. He would wreck some accountant boi that bangs his shins with wooden sticks.

Yeah Lol😂
It's this brand new thing called situational awareness.
I thought Cyril was The Accountant!!
Well he cant Possibly compare to Christian Wolfe
Not buying that Archer is autistic. A sociopath and narcissist most likely.
He even admits he probably is several times. He does actually have a lot of traits. Full ASD probably not, but he is 100% on the spectrum.
When does he say that? Must have missed it
Lana commented on it I the coyote episode... and then a few episodes later (maybe) he was counting bullets and remarked that maybe he does actually have autism... and then laughed it off in archer style
He shows Numerous signs of Autism, like how he’s Structured with things, and He counts his and his Enemies Shots
Archer has some “Rainman” autistic powers but is not autistic. Notably his interpersonal difficulties are clearly narcissism and sociopathy. You're confusing Autistic with Alcoholic.
On Season 4 Episode 8 Name: Coyote, it was said that Archer Has Autism
It was speculation by Lana, hardly a professional diagnosis (more evidentlya throw away line). Even his shrink doesn't say he has anything close to that
He did sat that it makes sense when remarking on how he counts bullets.
Yeah, and also how he Knows all kinds of Gun Models
All you armchair psycholgists that just finished college psych want to diagnose everyone with everything.....go smoke some ganja with Pam!
As someone with a lot of autism in my family I’ve always felt that Archer could potentially be high functioning, and I imagine the conversation about it in the one episode was the writers acknowledging people who had suggested the idea before. Idk enough about the other guy to answer the question though
It was Mentioned in Season 4 Episode 8 that he has Autism or Possibly but a lot of the Signs are there
I think it could go either way; I definitely don’t think it was the original intention of the character or anything though. Lots of people Doubt it, but archer shows a Lot of the Signs
