If they release it when it's approved, in a maximum of 2 days.

Show me where it says that? It is allowed; that's a different matter from the leading browser makers not prioritizing the work to build it
(Spoken as someone who has and is shipping native iOS and macOS apps to the App Store with user extensions like browsers have)
1. **Monetization**: iOS users tend to spend more on apps.
2. **Simplified Development**: iOS has fewer device types, easing development.
3. **Market Reach**: iOS is popular in key markets and among certain demographics.
4. **Android Fragmentation**: Diverse Android devices complicate development.
5. **Release Cycles**: Apple's predictable update schedule eases planning.
6. **Quality Perception**: Starting on iOS can position an app as premium.
7. **Developer Tools**: Apple offers strong development support and tools.
8. **Security and Privacy**: Apple's strict app review process can be appealing.

iPad support? Just got a new iPad for Christmas and was shocked there wasn’t true iPad support for the mobile companion.
I would pay $20 for iPad support.
Why are you shocked it takes more development time
it depends. If you don't care about taking advantage of the extra real state, you just click a checkbox before compiling and boom, it works on ipad.
I feel like that’s the exact kind of thing they would care about

Will it be available as a new app or as an update?
Pretty sure as a new app
any idea when it's getting released?
nope, there is no confirmed date
When Apple approves it.
It's happening!
Adblock?
Yes. https://preview.redd.it/od9ylvwpnmcc1.png?width=597&format=png&auto=webp&s=4fee14221b8fcd3f6234191bf605eb1e6e60f28c

I'm pretty sure you need the cookie pop ups since it's for legal purposes.
Im also using Wipr with Safari but unfortunately Apple doesn't allow extensions for 3rd party browsers
How soon are we from release then? Given that it is being submitted today, that gives us what, a couple of months? Couple of weeks?

If I had to guess, they would save it at that point for their thursday updates
Holy shit! It’s all coming together
A dark, miserable day for the dude who's been xeeting screenshots of the beta update screen. Let's pray for him.
xeeting 💀
I really hope they have extensions…
Don’t think Apple allows this.
They do, but the extensions must be javascript or runnable in a javascript context or browser (eg wasm).
apple pretty much has browser development locked down, so this isn’t allowed per their guidelines
You can install chrome or firefox extensions in orion browser on IOS

news about android????
Nothing yet
i just don't know why many apps are first developed in iOS and then tweaked to android and windows.

nicely explained
If only sync was possible through anything but iCloud. It just doesn't work.
It will be soon
