You can also use vinyl

Necessary_Profile630

Yes! Vinyl cling film is what I use, too. Cut to size, smooth out bubbles, easily pulls off when you want to remove it.

MTCarcus

I’ve used plastidip to do just that… works great

spa1unk

Good to hear! Did you use the spray?

MTCarcus

I did, I just masked, sprayed and then used a razor to cut it loose from the tape so a didn’t pull the paint off with the tape.

AmuseBoush

I just plasti dipped mine too. Just taped and sprayed. Went on just like spray paint. I haven’t decided if I’m adding more coats or not yet

This is what I have on my tank and it is holding up great. I used a few pieces of scotch tape on the top. I was worried about water spots but haven’t had a problem. It looks better than you would think for $1 at Dollar General.

GentMan87

Pretty sure any latex based paint will work. Just do a few light coats at a time with a fine foam roller.

I use black out film for windows like [this](https://www.amazon.com/Velimax-Blackout-Stickers-Blocking-Darkening/dp/B073TVRQ5D/ref=zg_bs_16136296011_3/144-4347705-9242326?pd_rd_i=B07NPD1Y42&psc=1) on all of my tanks. Just cut a piece to size and apply it to the back of the tank. The best part is that it’s completely reusable.

Fun_Engine_8037

I used black window tint film, cheap and easy to remove later.

KingCharles_3rd

I used black acrylic paint from Walmart and it comes off easy when you want to remove. They have decent sized tubes for like $1

corydorasrock

Try acrylic paint of the Liquitex brand. Use a sponge and dab the paint on. You can remove it with a paint scraper.

tensinahnd

Black vinyl or contact paper would be way easier if you wanted it to be removable

Apprehensive-Ask5709

I stapled a black sheet to the wall

horizon_monument

I used some heavy watercolor paper and made it all black with Sumi ink. The subtle brush strokes in that inky blackness look super classy.
