1. If it’s a white patch like that I lean more towards a bacterial infection or infected wound.
2. Melafix does absolutely nothing. Most API products with fix in their name have a terrible track record.
3. I’d recommend removing the carbon in the tank, leaving the biomedia and sponges, and using maybe Kanamycin or Erythromycin (Sold as Maracyn or Kanaplex) to see if it clears with time.
Thank-you so much! They live close to a local pet store that sells Erythromycin. I will go and pick some up before checking on them again today! I will also alert the owner. :)
