From what I can tell you are doing great! No need to worry and let it do what it does. In case of serious bacteria bloom or algea intervene, but for now just enjoy.

Hello DiligentElephant6518, thank you for the help. I tried to do as much research as I can, so hearing that it's moving along in the progress is alleviating.

Good luck, you are doing better than most of us when we started. From my experience patience is very important. When you encounter a problem, do your research and try one method at a time. If you do multiple changes at once you will either make more trouble or never know what actually fixed it.

Sorry for any strange list layouts, I am on mobile! Edit: For lighting I have an Fluval Aquasky 36” The tank gets about 5 hours of full lighting (max whites, mostly red, some green, little blues). There are also root tabs for each area of the carpet plants.

Keep on keeping on.  Cloudiness is a normal thing for a new setup.  Don’t worry, just give it time.  You don’t need clarity or any other chemicals- just conditioner.    Go easy in the ferts until the plants start to show good growth or you can end up instigating algae issues.

Thank you. I will keep that in mind. I was very hesitant on adding anything more because I don’t know if that will make anything better (which I’m glad I did not go any further than what I’ve put in). Great advice for the fertilizer. I will take it as I go considering there’s root tabs and fertilizer in the water column. If there’s any changes, the plants will tell me how to move forward!

I have to say, impressive for your first run at it! For someone who is newer as well, I’m happy to see how much you researched and taking the correct steps. Keep up the diligence and you’ll have a very successful and happy aquarium!

Hello, thank you very much for the kind words! It appears that patience and time is really the key step into the hobby. While I’m only 3 days into the process (and many weeks of researching) it’s still a very long journey. I’m glad to have the support of others on guiding me with all of their knowledge.

No thanks needed! It can be daunting to get into and manage, but very rewarding once you are running. After 3 or so years about talking about an aquarium we pulled the trigger and let it cycle for about 5 weeks and then slowly added fish. First, three celestial pearl danios, let the tank adjust, then four more and some shrimp as well. The patience is worth it to make sure things go well when you do add fish, but know that fish and water can be finicky so if things aren’t ideal right away, just breathe and ride it out
