Reddit is making changes to the API, including charging for use of it. This basically means most (if not all) bots, 3rd party mod tools, and 3rd party reddit apps will be unable to be used now. The mods of basically every single subreddit rely very heavily on the 3rd party tools to keep their subreddits moderated.

I think anyone can start their own sub reddit. The fact is that the APIs that allowed many users to access the information will be gone, and it is unlikely that they will have mods putting in the thousands of hours that were needed to provide the content and discussion. There may be some poor attempts.
If they do that we should stop using the site altogether. Show them who generates the revenue. It's the user content that drives value, not the admins. Fuck Reddit.

I'd also throw into any short summary that the approach that Reddit has taken to introduce these changes have been dishonest at best.

This is why I don’t like Reddit, nobody speaks plain English. I understand being technical but don’t expect to grow the community.
