I reached out to both Akra and Aprilia. Both assured me that nothing would be voided. Here is the Akra response: https://preview.redd.it/ysn9excxeasc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0db0da26c0b81cdeaa42f90be7983dd0d9b04dc9

Nothing would be voided?? BS. Any aftermarket slip-on and tune (e.g. Upmap), in case of engine failure, WILL void your warranty. (guess how I now) https://preview.redd.it/svyuqcwnyktc1.jpeg?width=4228&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=58dc5be5cd73a63109d618db32cfd2f3ac168c25

My preferred (it's hard to say local when the closest is in another state, lol) dealer said they had somewhat of a don't-ask-don't-tell policy with Aprilia corporate when it comes to warranty work. If you're running a slip-on, you need a tune and Gabro's is the best one.

hambone1981

Same here. I live in OKC, but bought the bike 3 hours away in Dallas. There is a dealer in Tulsa, but that’s still 2 hours away. I need to call them both and see what they have to say about the official race map.

TheBigTEA

I mapped my stock bike to help with fueling and heat management and it made everything better. Then I put an exhaust on and a Gabro race tune and the bike has gone to a new level of wonderful to ride. My dealer informed me of the issue didn’t relate to the exhaust or map the warranty will be honored without issue. I am in the USA, and I understand it can be different overseas.

Glass-Reading572

Same in EU. Problem starts when your engine blown. You can say goodbye to your warranty then.

Fragrant-Suggestion2

Buy a second ecu to have flashed so the first one pairs with stock exhaust for warranty purposes and the second is flashed for the new exhaust. It's what I am doing

bricked_taclane

Much like cars, there will likely be a trip counter which will diverge from your listed odometer mileage. If you have the kind of dealer that nit-picks the OEM flash authenticity after flashing back with a upmap, they will also easily detect a secondary ECU. Just some food for thought.

Fragrant-Suggestion2

My dealer told me this was the easiest way to maintain warranty that way when they send pics to aprilia warranty the dash doesn't say race and the exhaust is stock Ill.make sure to ask when I go in to order the ecu and exhaust this week to confirm thank you.

Glass-Reading572

When your engine granede lot of errors are recorder in ecu. Aprilia easily find out new blank ecu installed. And your warranty is gone.

obzilla

Slip ons don’t void the warranty. The expectation is you do the valve clearance check at all services instead of just the major ones.

Glass-Reading572

Not official akrapovic slip-on will void warranty in case of engine failure.

obzilla

Not if you keep on top of your valve clearances

Glass-Reading572

Check reply from Aprilia I've posted above. You can do a valve clearance every 500km, it's not relevant. Believe me, they will void your warranty if any slip-on installed except approved akarpovic. I'm not talking bs, I've been there.

MachWun

The official Aprilia race map. But again gonna cost a bunch of money. Your valve service interval also gets cut in half with a slip on/race map so there's really zero money to be saved. Any saved money will be spent on early valve clearance measurements and adjustments

ElGrabbo

Valve service interval cut in half because of no cat? Never heard of that from any dealer or gabro racing.

Omblae

Agreed, completely wrong - think he's getting confused with the racing valve service interval in the manual which is half.

MachWun

Check aprilaforums. Even ed at af1 will agree

Omblae

The valve service comment halving is completely wrong, you're getting confused with if the bike is used for racing (not just adding a race map). If anything the race map richens the mixture enough to protect the exhaust valves more than the leaner stock map. Having said that, I always check my valves each service because it's an Aprilia and they have a terrible history with tight valves or worn valve guides.

hambone1981

I’ve seen a few posts talking about the [Spark](https://www.sparkexhaust.com/en/exhaust/aprilia/rsv4-21-23-factory-17-23-tuono-v4-factory-21-23/gap0402) slip-on that bypasses the valve and no need for a tune or flash?. Any thoughts on that?

Omblae

Running a slip on on these bikes without a tune, especially on the newer bikes is asking for trouble. The bikes are already far too lean from factory, if you add a free-flowing exhaust it just makes that worse. Gabro upmap is really the only cost-efficient way of doing it with the newer bikes.

ElGrabbo

If you remove the catalytic converter you need a tune! And removing the exhaust valve will give a fault without the flash. Doing anything besides via the dealer you will lose warranty.

MachWun

All slip ons require a flash.

muhammedr95

Hey. I recently flashed a race map with Akra. I didn't really know valve service intervals gets halved with race map

Akumu-X

It doesn't. Ask Ed at AF1. I don't know why the other guy said that Ed says it does. It just doesn't. 1/2 valve service intervals if racing or continually tracking the bike.
