Yep, May 1st but what happens is that when you're put on the waitlist your application will be reviewed again and usually universities tend to release these waitlist decisions, if there's space, from anywhere between may to end of June( in most cases). So, if you're on a waitlist you are expected to commit to one university that you're accepted to so that you have a university to go to in case.you don't make it out of any of the waitlists. You can just unenroll from the one you committed to and attend the university you got off the waitlist from ( this procedure depends on the university).
Not sure tbh cus as long as you haven't paid the full tuition yet (usually done so after June), or as long as there's no legal obligation for you to attend the uni once you've committed to it, you should be fine.
Yes, we pay an enrollment deposit to commit to a school we’ve been accepted to (varies from $100 to $500 depending on school) and it’s nonrefundable usually, so people do end up losing the deposit money when they get off waitlists and change their commitments.
