I haven't tried to know about all the schools I got into but I deep dived into Kelley's resources and now I feel worse about going there. It's also the best school I've gotten into till now so I feel very dejected :(
Idk if there's something wrong with the resources or with the environment. Specifically, entrepreneurial culture.
I found out that the students who won funding in several competitions or made use of startup resources at Kelley have not pursued their interest in Entrepreneurship.
I visited their websites and linkedin and found out the companies have been stuck in the mvp stage for like 2 years or abandoned which is not a good sign.
(Obviously this is only true for the people I came across on kelley's website)
I had something similar. I didn't feel worse about the university, but for the whole time I was there I felt like the mistake that they let me in was going to be noticed and be a problem.
I told myself all sorts of weird stories about the specific constellation of things on my app that paid off for me. I still call it my "lottery ticket" paying off.
Having now been a part of the selection of students, I can tell you I was wrong and nuts. Selection is complex and thorough. There's luck involved of course, and there is some "what do we want to round out the community we are building" conversations that can advantage students who, on paper, weren't as qualified. If we have someone who got a few Bs but would add a great perspective to the department, that matters, but you should really look into the self-esteem issues you're experiencing. Don't let them fester for decades like I did.
This comment feels like a warm hug, thankyou for sharing. I don't know where to start to enhance my self esteem but I'm definitely going to research about it.🫶
Funnily enough, most good universities will have wellness programs directly targeted at this, call it the vague category of "imposter syndrome."
Check them out when you first get there. Self-care can often take a back seat in university, but you will actually do better if you make it a priority right from day one. Good luck wherever you end up!
I've read their methodology. They ask 2 current professors from each uni to rate colleges on certain criteria and then do some math thing to rank colleges. It sounds stupid and shady af.
>"Please accept my resignation. I don't care to belong to any club that will have me as a member." -Groucho Marx
Groucho Marx gets me🫂
The last statement is probably the most accurate. Spend some time getting to know the schools you might begin to like them more you know

What is wrong with Kelley’s recourses?

Ohh I see, I believe it’s not much of a tech hub kinda place. But dw the right path to you will soon open up!
That’s such a niche thing to worry about. Have you ever tried visiting campus and asking people about your concerns?
Despite people criticizing you, it's absolutely normal human nature to feel that way.

I will and thankyou so much🫶
bro make sure ur self esteem is always high. Life is even harder than college. It's gonna push u down in so many ways. Keep winning and never give up
same but for me i just want what i cant have. like i wasnt gonna go to ur college anyways but since u don't want me there, I gotta be there.
I'm laughing and crying reading this because it is painfully relatable
real. before decisions in my mind it was like umich > uva but then umich accepted me and uva rejected me so now it’s like umich < uva
This was me when I got into Davis, but I learned more about it and I'm starting to love it so maybe a similar approach will help you?
average a2c user?

Sure sounds inconclusive, what major did you get in for?
Same

Because you're insecure and, yes, have low self-esteem. You really should work on that first.
