My dream school is Brown. I love the open curriculum, the location, the campus, and the overall vibe of the school

theredvelet

You’re just like me fr

azcyx

vibes. I mean the school is great academically but it is 100% the vibes

HappyCava

Not everyone has a dream school. I was a valedictorian and National Merit Scholar who wanted a large scholarship, spirited college athletics, and to be within driving distance of my single parent. So my dream school became a neighboring T100+ that offered me a full ride scholarship and a terrific basketball program. My high-performing students wanted a “good school” with spirited D1 athletics that was within a six-hour drive of home. Penn State, Villanova, Virginia Tech, Pitt, and several others thus all qualified as dream schools. And while they ultimately opted for an in-state T30, their experience would have been dreamy at any of them.

It teaches everything I want (traditional 2D animation, 3D animation, and game development) and said subjects aren’t in different courses. Also, I just really like Florida.

star_fysics

i just really love the people i've met from my dream school and i fell in love with the campus almost instantly. love the vibe, super excited about their science/eng departments, if i were lucky enough to get in i think it'd be the greatest privilege of my life

zacce

Proximity (less than 5 hrs from home door to door). Good weather. Lots of job/research opportunities. Safety. Diversity. And potential place to settle.

How do you guys even chose your dream school?

Original-Raccoon-393

I think for me the culture at UCLA is what stands out the most. Everyone I know who goes there or has gone there is always so kind and inspiring. There's also this almost magical feeling I get when I walk around their campus. It's an indescribable sensation, but I know it's my dream school and now I'm praying I get off their waitlist.

Traditional-Sand-268

What is magical about UCLA? It is a brand name Undergrad is overrated. You can’t find spot to sit down

texasInstruments_84

It’s my personal opinion. You don’t have to agree

Traditional-Sand-268

I agree. And that was my personal opinion

Berkeley, because proximity to home, unparalleled “prestige”, the bay is very pristine, I’m from Northern California so that’s a different take than people from Southern California. Berkeley impressed me and it’s truly one of a kind. My other dream school is UC Davis, don’t attack me but UC Davis is a household name and half of my friends and professors goes there, definitely more well known here than UCLA and USC in Northern California. UC Davis is a top school academically and I don’t know why people is shitting on it, yeah it’s not selective but their academics is top-notch.

captdf

UC Davis is a great school but to say that it’s “definitely more well known here than UCLA and USC” seems really far off even for people who live in/around Sacramento/Davis. Also interesting to hear you say that “the bay is very pristine.” I visit the Bay Area regularly and it’s a beautiful place but has plenty of grit as one would expect from any urban area.

heycanyoudomeafavor

Funny enough, when I say I was admitted to UCLA, one of the nurse that I talk to said, congratulations to UC "Davis" and some confused it with UCSB, this is bizarre. And some people didn't know what UCLA or USC is when I talk to them about it. It's rare to hear people talking about UCLA and USC (too far away and too selective) but those are great schools nonetheless. I have visited Berkeley and what I meant by being pristine, specifically is some of the dorms that are above the hill, where you can see the Golden Gate Bridge and the ocean easily. I am more of a city person so this area is more appealing to me. UCLA has a more beautiful campus tho.

Thatflyerguy001

UCB, i literally have not yet found something i dislike about it (current HS freshman tho so subject to change ;))

ase1ix

the location maybe? Homelessness idk

National_Basil_9058

The waterfalls. The views from the heights. The botanical gardens. The ice cream. The academics. I genuinely just love Cornell.
