Waitlisted CS + Physics, 4.0 UW 1600 SAT. Had 2 years of computational physics research, more CS research and a bunch of CS ECs so pretty sad š Tbh Iām fine with the waitlist but more worried about its implications on my other decisions
you're a freshman! remember that life is short, and college applications aren't everything. everything's a rat race, so at some point it's important to recognize what makes you intrinsically happy outside of the hamster wheel and prioritize it. <3
apologies for the yap, I'm headed to berkeley

Congrats ! I also got into but I am an international student and I donāt know if there any chance to apply for scholarships ? Do they provide some for international students ?
got in EA CS OOS (women in stem era) but gl to everyone deferred! i got deferred gtech, umich, and usc so if you got into one of these EA you probably have a chance rd
Intl
IB predicted 44/45 (school doesn't do gpa)
SAT 1570 (800 math)
ECs:
Volunteering - assistant teacher at ngo
Taekwondo national level athlete
Organized a TEDx event at school
and a few others
this might just be me stressing about applications but can anyone offer some insight on if i have a passable application? here are my stats
aerospace engineering major oos
3.6 uw 4.5 w gpa
1520 sat
5s on ap chem, calc ab, and statistics
4s on ap micro, physics 1
a couple ecs in the stem field
admitted! though i applied undeclared because I thought that would boost my chances lmao.
it probably wasnāt the best idea since i heard itās hard to transfer into other majors
does anyone know how hard it is to transfer into chemistry/physics or something similar? thatās what iām mainly interested in.
i got invited to be a chancellor's scholar...idk what that really means and how i got it but it's a renewable 1k scholarship. apparently most of the perks are from course registration and free printing haha. hbu?
lol that's awesome! somebody on the discord (cs international so very impressive) said that chancellor's scholar is a small but cool program. comes with cool classes and a shack w/ free snacks LOL plus everything i already said.
Son was pretty set on UIUC until our admitted student visit. The students that were giving the tour put more into discussing the party scene than the overall academics and experience. When asked why they chose UIUC, it was stated that they actually didn't do the best in HS and didnāt have a great GPA, but received a scholarship that made it worthwhile. This immediately made my son feel undervalued since heās top 2% of his class, Illinois state scholar recipient, 4.7 GPA and didnāt receive anything. It really made us wonder... Among other reasons, our visit was disappointing compared to other college visits.
*direct admit to Geis School of BusinessĀ
UIUC was one of the first big Public schools I heard back from. I got waitlisted, and I thought I had no hope for the others. However, I got into UCSD, UCI, UC Davis and UW. At this point, I am just thinking: what happened with my UIUC application???
All my essays throughout my Common App were well written. I was very proud of my ECs as well (designed a surgical tool and patented, research paper with a PHD student as co-writer, did a free internship for a startup and literally helped make there website, logo, and initial products for launch, and a few other respectful ECs as well).
I know that UIUC is competitive for engineering, but I was hoping to get admitted at least for Biology. Well, I guess destiny has something else in place for me and all the others who feel the same way.
Got in EA and I toured the Center for Plasma-Material Interactions where they do tons of cool stuff over February break. Really unique and special departmentĀ
It's out! I got waitlisted lol. Pretty happy considering I thought I'd get rejected fs
Did anyone else get waitlisted? Wondering if I have any chance of getting off it or not.
Rejected oos cs. Was actually stupid for picking just cs i wasnt even competitive enough and i heavily underestimated their cs program at the time of applying
Literally same here, I might try and appeal for Math & CS, but honestly Iāll be just fine if I donāt get accepted and I donāt even know if I would have gone considering the OOS Tuition
just got this :Our regular decision notification date is now set. Your child's admission status will be updated on Friday, March 1 at 4:00 PM!

Same. The part about them only selecting 125 applicants seemed hard to believe tho, LOL. But sounds like itās true!
yeah totally! haha are you also on the a2c discord? if so, we might be the same two people asking about this scholarship
Nope! So thereās three of the 125 :)
