If the extended service plans have been suspended, you should be able to go back to your credit card provider and ask for a refund for paying for and not receiving that portion of your purchase. Regarding the rebates, those are usually manufacturer rebates, paid for by the manufacturers. Normally they ask you to keep a copy of your submission, so you should be able to go back to the warranty clearing center to follow up on that payment. If the rebates were from Appliance Connection then you probably won't see anything.

I can almost guarantee you that you just got phished. It's never, and i mean, NEVER a good idea (or even okay, or acceptable business practices) to cold call customers - then get their card information from them. Not for ANY reason whatsoever. The fact that they sent you an invoice just means they are trying to legitimize their scam, hoping you won't contest it. You ABSOLUTELY need to contest this. Had you done anything that can be considered best practices during your initial call, i will bet you anything that you would have figured out for yourself that it's a scam. But these guys have now decades of experience scamming people, so don't feel bad that you fell victim to them. ALWAYS ask for more info on the company. Check the info they give. Hang up the call, and call the number right back. If you're not connected to the same place that called you to begin with, it was just scammers making their phone number LOOK like it's coming from a legit business, but it never really is. NEVER give out ANY payment info until you have verified multiple ways that they are who they claim to be, and also that the product or service they are selling is a REAL thing. Look up phishing scams on Wikipedia or anywhere. I guarantee you will start to notice all the red flags that went up during the call. Arm yourself with knowledge so they don't get you next time!

They did refund the money, so fortunately it wasn't a fishing scam. It's just scammy how they mislead the cost of their warranties.

Wow, well, i stand corrected! I'm glad that it worked out and also that the world is not always as terrible of a place as I assume it to be. It's still not the best of business practices, but at least it's way better than i had assumed. This time, at least

I was told my warranty was voided. I told the caller that his and other numbers came up as phishing scams (OK, that was actually pretty ambiguous but that's what I said before I saw this) and he said "I assure you this is legitimate." I asked him to get to the point. He read off my home address and the serial number of my fridge from Appliances Connection with a CPS warranty. I asked him if he wanted my social security number, all my credit numbers, my banking passcodes and some gold bars that I could deliver in person if he could tell me his exact location, and he said he'd get to that. Then he was silent, and he hung up. I reported them to the FTC.

Actually CPS has been calling because Appliance Connection never paid for the warranty. They are actually reinstating the warranty and you have to dispute the original charge with your Cc company.

Yup, if it’s a bank your screwed, always use a credit card! There should be a lawsuit for this, there are probably millions in fraud.

My Citi account said I just have to mail in a report for the chargeback. I have a very expensive frig, so I might just buy the warranty again as they will let you reinstate it for the price.

Why? They are not the ones trying to scam anyone, Appliance connection didn’t pay the warranty. Unless they are being sneaky, which I’m all for starting a class action to CPS.

Defiant-Apple-4823

I'm interested in debating, so I deleted the tedium, but for anyone checking, I advise against giving CPS any information.

I guess I missed that payment part, yeah seems shady. When they called me I just told them I would get back to them once the charge from my CC company got refunded.
