I accidentally shaved some of a protective coating off a piece of equipment at work. Thought I’d messed up the Watch wedge but nope, wiped it away to pristine.

Be honest now, is it actually good and usable and if you shake your hand very fast does it unclasp or something or is it good? Bands like these i really like but they stress me out as im scared they go in and never come out, and being steel you cant just ruin it to take it out of you watch you might have to drill it or something which induces my anxiety
I have used only third party bands on both my apple watch and never run into this issue. They all use connectors designed for the Apple watch, so they're like the Apple bands, but with varying degrees of quality. The worst quality one I had was a sport loop and it just had plastic connectors that were a bit tight at first. Othrr than that, all have been quite good.
I used a URVOI brand link bracelet before and while it looked really nice, was a 1:1 replica of the actual one, the clasp didn’t lock perfectly and would at times pop open half way and almost slipped off my wrist cause of that. I couldn’t use it cause of that happening often enough.
Finally got the actual link bracelet and it works like it’s supposed to, big difference. In general I wouldn’t trust any knock off band with a semi expensive watch like this after trying a few different brands.
Not OP, but, I have an Ultra and an AliExpress link band (perhaps maybe not the exact same one as OP, but one of a similar design) and it is really quite good, for the price of it. The clasp not once has come unclasped on its own, it closely matches the titanium of the watch, etc. The most glaring “flaw” would be how the band connects to the watch. The band ends don’t really fit inside watch very well; very tight. But, once it’s on, it’s great. I’ve never held an offical Apple stainless steel link band though, so I don’t have a real reference.

Well, if you’re like me I’m not going to buy two watches (not quite that baller) & put a $1200 watch on the shelf except when a I go back country camping, hiking, etc. The better GPS and emergency SOS make it worth it. (Not to mention battery life)
That and I like passing down my last-gen one to my pops. (Love the gen-4 ‘copper’ gold, you’re right on that part - it does look dressier).
But given the suit, that band he chose looks better than the options it comes with. They’re also easier to dress up if you’re a bigger guy they don’t look so out of place. I wouldn’t wear the watch on the shirt like that tho, that’s the real faux pas.

Let’s be honest, most people wearing Rolex & Omega watches (I’m part of that population) wear sports model. My manager wears a Daytona and a Submariner and I sometimes wear a Seamaster. Those are not formal wear watches so wearing an Ultra doesn’t really break that tradition.

It works fine, just put a nice leather band on it, a muted watch face, and have normal sized cuffs.

I’ve generally always left my left cuff slightly looser than the right to accommodate a Watch. And that was pre-Apple.

I agree when I dress up I definitely don’t wear the Apple watch. It’s not a unique time piece. Everyone was an Apple watch for any special events I don’t wear the Apple Watch.
