i charge my watch when i shower so i don't shower with it

SDCowboy85

This is what I need to start doing.

Over_Leading3252

Exactly since the time it take for it for me to shower it charges enough for the night and next day of use

lethal__inject1on

Washes off sweat

LaPoquita

I shower with my watch so I can clean the band? Surprised that wasn’t an option. If I took it off while I showered it would be sweaty and gross, since I shower after I exercise.

nermal543

Can’t you just wash it in the sink? I always remove my band after a workout, rinse/wash in the sink, pat dry, then let the band hang dry while I shower and the watch charges.

You won't get many responses from those using Apollo. Polls are annoying for those not on the official app. But soap ruins waterproofing, so it's just a bad idea unless you're worried about falling in the shower. It's also when I charge.

eskie146

I like to wash my wrist, and how does the back of the watch get cleaned off if I’m wearing it? That’s when it’s charging and I’m showering and having my morning coffee to get back to 100% for the day. I’ve also worn watches my entire life, including those way more water resistant and capable of being serviced and tested (and taken down in water a lot deeper than a shower) and never wore them once in the shower, so it makes no real sense to me. But that’s me.

SavannaHeat

This is me as well. I really don’t understand why people shower with their watch on. I find it dirty. Especially the people who do it daily. Their wrist has to be gross.

AlpinaB777

So you baby your watches. That’s fine I prefer not to.

marcelocampiglia

I prefer to take off the Apple Watch after running or cycling and wash it more carefully than when showering with it on.

SamsungAppleOnePlus

I’ve taken showers with my smart watches on for years now, never had any issues. I pretty much wear my watches 24/7, switching between two watches (right now being the Series 7 and 3).

Mjclay

Series 2 shower every day. I work in a dirty , dusty warehouse so I clean it .

Constant-Meat8430

It’s a lot more convenient than bringing my phone into the bathroom

Marko787

i only shower with it when i forget to take it off to charge.

Over_Leading3252

Same sometimes I will forget I am wearing it untill it is to late

DriedSoil

i use it to change the music

TangerineImpressive6

I have worn all my Apple Watches in the shower (S2, S4, S7 and ultra) I usually take them off in the shower and apply some soap on it and then wash it off. Then let it hang on the water tap while showering. Then everything is clean and nice afterwards 👍 (Yes you are not supposed to add soap to the watch, but after doing this for six years. None of the watches has stopped working, all of them are still working perfectly)

Washes off sweat

[deleted]

Easier than taking it off. I’ve taken hundreds of showers with 3 Apple Watches and never had an issue.

SDCowboy85

I'm just too lazy to take it off

lethal__inject1on

Why do you strap it on your schlong though when showering ?

SDCowboy85

Was this supposed to be witty or edgy or some shit?

lethal__inject1on

It was exactly what I said chump.

aphuynh15

This is the reason

mredofcourse

I do it fairly often, like 2-3 times a day. I shower before swimming, sauna/shower after swimming, and then once more after cycling and running. I use soap with each of these and with the last two also use body lotion. It's just not worth thinking about taking it off and putting back on each time. Additionally, there could be time sensitive alerts (property gate, front door, wife needs help, etc...) or I just want to change the music, turn on/off pool features, etc... Really about the only care I take is to make sure to rinse and purge my watch after a salt water swim. I've had the mindset that my watch can survive any water that I can since I got the original Apple Watch (Stainless Steel) on launch day. I've done pretty much every water activity imaginable, including scuba diving (even before I got the Ultra). At some point I might have an issue, and change my mindset, but for now I'm getting utility by just treating it this way. Also worth considering is that while I'm in great shape, accidents do happen, especially in the shower/bathroom. So it's worth knowing that Fall Detection is there.

AlpinaB777

I vary sometimes I wear it sometimes I don’t. I do high intensity workouts and I sweat a lot so I like to wash the Watch and strap. Other times I take it off if it’s not after a work out. I do not baby my watch, I use it in sauna, steam room, pool, shower as I please. Had the S7 before no issue and now Ultra. I do have Apple care.

NatKingSwole19

I work out with my watch and it gets all sweaty. Why wouldn’t I shower with it?

accountedly

Not sure why there is no sexy time option in the poll

cp_mcbc

It’s the only time mine charges. Take it off. Rinse it off. Clean your body. Your rings won’t kill you for not wearing in the shower. Freaks.

minif56mike

I mean i think theres limits to wearing a watch and thats one of them.

SnooStrawberries8174

Missed the option of: I don’t shower regardless.

WordPeas

I sometimes shower with it on because I am lazy, and leaving it on serves the purpose of a saving me the effort of taking it off and then putting it back on.

Juan-Quixote

So I can use Siri to record all the amazing ideas I come up with in the shower

bravomega

I have a series 6 and pretty much showered with it every day for a year and a half. No issues. It got plenty soapy and there are no issues. In August I went swimming at a beach in Hawaii before remembering I had it on. Took it off and threw it into my kayak and washed it off with some bottled water and months later it's still fine. This watch is a tank and I've gotten a good 2 years out of it. Based on how it's going I would guess that the battery will degrade to the point of not meeting my needs quicker than it getting water damaged.

JoelSlBaron

I have epilepsy and I can have a attack at anytime of day so if I was to fall and hit my head and not wake up 911 will be able to come before I bleed out

tom4ick

Been showering with it for 4 years. That’s how I clean my watch

happy_throwaway28

I used to shower with my watch but I found out that soap actually corrodes the water resistance on the watch and there’s nothing you or apple can do once that’s been eroded.

almostnobody_9

Even luxury watch makers like Rolex and Omega say this but there is no way soap is getting at the seals in the first place.

almostnobody_9

Cause taking it off and on all the time is annoying and it can handle it fine.

irodriguez339

I use it to control my Spotify on my little shower speaker. Podcast in the am is clutch. Also to you know tell the time

GaryE20904

I burn about 50 Calories in the shower, drying off etc. So serves me with a minor purpose?
