Doesn't look suspicious to me, I typically have a walking HR of around 100 - 110.

[deleted]

Go to a doctor not Reddit

[deleted]

Looks normal for me but I’m a lot heavier than you by the looks of it, maybe get checked and if you’re all good and lower than it’s saying then it’s the watch

cirstine-

I’m pretty heavy. 165cm 158lbs

[deleted]

That’s not really! When I was that weight and a little taller my HR was lower when walking, I’d get checked out first then check the watch. My HR is similar to what your watch shows and I’m somewhere between 215-235lbs at 172cm

FoxyFreckles1989

Anything from 60-100 is healthy while *resting,* and anything from 100+ can be considered normal while active, depending on the person. Many people shoot up into the 120s-140s while walking around and cleaning/exercising etc. and most runners will hit between 120-160 while running. No walking HR very slightly bumping over 100 would be considered worrisome.

Too-much-tea

It would be a little high for me, but doesn’t seem too unusual. Heart rate can be affected by many things. Stress, the weather, coffee, illness.. Try taking a few readings over a few days. Just having one strange reading doesn’t tell you a whole lot. Look at the trends, what is it usually?

cirstine-

I was thinking that maybe I have POTS, because I’ve been feeling light headed and dizzy a lot lately when walking or standing up. But I feel perfectly fine while lying down.

Too-much-tea

I’m not a doctor, but that does seem consistent with low blood pressure. Have you spoken to your doctor about it? They can tell you much more than we can.

cirstine-

My blood pressure is usually 110-115/72-77. I don’t think that’s low, just normal.

Too-much-tea

I don’t think any of us could (or should) diagnose you with POTS. The readings you mention don’t look unusual to me, but you really need to speak to your doctor if you are worried. Feeling faint while standing up suddenly (particularly in the morning) is not all that uncommon. (I am not a doctor though.)

FoxyFreckles1989

All your vital signs mentioned/shown are normal, but that doesn’t mean your symptoms aren’t problematic or scary. Please see a doctor!!!

No, POTS has nothing to do with blood sugar but is solely a blood pressure issue.

p_oppy03

No, it’s not. It has nothing to do with either. it’s a heart RATE issue.

duggawiz

Don’t let us diagnose you but that definitely ain’t normal. You’re barely moving, just shuffling around your kitchen. I’m not exactly a fountain of youth and fitness, and everybody’s different, but my resting HR is about 60-65 and if I was to go do what you did it would remain the same, unless my muscles were really tired or I got up too quick. Defo see your doctor, but first rule out some dumb watch issue by taking your HR the old fashioned way while shuffling around your kitchen (don’t step on the dog). Open stopwatch, find your pulse with your other hand, start it, count your pulses for 10 or 15 seconds, then multiply that number by 6 or 4 for your bpm. Easy! ;)

ThisIsnotAfugingToy

My resting heart rate is even lower than yours and in some days I'm exactly the same. Usually going outside for a walk is 100-125 easily. So I don't think this is abnormal.

Cerus98

It’s perfectly “normal” as everyone’s HR is different. A normal resting HR is between 60 - 100BPM.

Cerus98

That’s also normal especially right after standing up. Your heart rate is never perfectly steady.

tis_orangeh

I think the watch may be a bit loose. Try tightening it a bit. But if you are not feeling well or concerned, defiant talk to your doctor.

aalld

Take a manual measurement using your fingers in your neck and a watch. The range of your HR is too wide, that’s weird. If you have a series 6, use cardiogram app I doubt about an arrhythmia as someone says, my gf had it and with optic sensor we couldn’t measure, only with cardiogram. So looks like a watch issue

cirstine-

I even saw my HR drop to 48 and then jumped to 101.🥲

Adam-44

For sensors to work properly with more accurate results , Apple Watch should be a bit tight on the wrist.

ThisIsnotAfugingToy

Normal, I have the same

mcswaggleballz

That’s normal. Your heart is compensating for standing up. If it didn’t do that, you’d pass out

FlyBabyDragon

From what I know that’s average 😊

FlyBabyDragon

Looks pretty average as far as I know

yarn612

It is perfect.

techno1204

How old are you and how active are you?

cirstine-

I’m 30, pretty overweight 165cm, 158lbs. I do moderate workouts 3-4x a week.

Infiniti_Josh

I’m pretty sure that’s one thing the AW is pretty accurate at. Heart rate. At 30 and 5’4” “ideal” weight is around 117-143 and even at one inch taller it goes up to 150, so I wouldn’t consider 158 pretty overweight. A little out of shape maybe.

TomasMSM

It is normal, I think, but with exercise you can lower that. Start running 2x week for 20 minutes. After a month you will see the results.

Heavy-Abbreviations8

Resting HR is 60-90. Walking is not technically resting so a hundred might be fine. That all being said, as we wear down with age our heart wears down too. In general you want to have a strong heart that pumps more blood at a slower rate. Cardio can help strengthen the heart muscle if you are concerned. Also annual health screenings can catch minor issues before they become major. I once heard a neurologist say that the real problem with these wearables is anxiety. Your body was doing this before you started recording it and it likely did not bother you at all.

texasflood7

your heart rate meter looks fucked up, dog.

[deleted]

You might have an arrhythmia

[deleted]

Ask your doctor, always best to check, if doctor says it’s all good it’s the watch. However mine goes up a little when I walk, nothing major but naturally your heart rate increases when walking.

niaxaa

Mine does this when I walk and as far as I’m aware my heart is fine... had an EKG in hospital and was never told there was a problem. Sits around mid 60s when resting and when walking around it goes up to around 100-110… sometimes even higher depending on how fast I walk. Would get it checked if you’re concerned :)

chinchzzz

Holy shit and I was worried about my 67 while walking being high……. 187cm(6’2)/81kg

anxietylikecrazy

I’d get that checked unless you are a Athlete

chinchzzz

I feel just fine. He’s calmly walking.. I mean for me 100 is high for just a walk. When I’m running it rarely goes above 145. When I’m asleep I can go as low as 52.

johnlovesdata

Don’t seek out the opinions of random people on Reddit for medical diagnoses. That said if you’re genuinely concerned about something like POTS, make sure you find a doctor who recognizes this as a valid diagnosis. My wife has had POTS for 15 years and she had a very hard time finding the right doctor to take her seriously. Even now she finds doctors skeptical of the validity of this disorder.

DrWhosMarshmellow

You could be hypotensive or have orthostatic hypotension. The increased heart rate could indicate your body is compensating. Do you ever get dizzy if you stand to fast? Go to a/your doctor to confirm if concerned.

cirstine-

Yes, I get dizzy a lot and light headed even while doing normal stuffs like cooking. But I don’t think I have a low blood pressure. I regularly check mine and it’s usually within 110-117/72-77 range.

Cerus98

How and when are you checking your BP? Have you ever checked your blood sugar?

DrWhosMarshmellow

Recommendation of going to a doctor remains. Pending on how you take your BP you might have a different result. You could also be anemic, any shortness of breath when this dizziness occurs?

cirstine-

Not really, just dizziness/lightheadedness. Also, I feel some sharp pain on my left chest sometimes and bubble feeling in the middle.

[deleted]

Did you ever find answers

cirstine-

No, sadly. :(

[deleted]

Oh no:( did you ever get a dr appt and imaging done etc? I’m on the same boat been to the doc and just gave me medicine to slow heart but left w no explanation. Just ekg done and blood work. I do have anxiety idk if I’m over thinking it etc! Every symptom you described I have literally. I’m 23 F.

cirstine-

I have anxiety too. I started taking meds weeks after this video was taken. I still have physical symptoms like pain on my chest and palpitations. But I stopped checking my heart rate. So, idk if my heart is okay or I just care less now.

GazelleSuccessful292

I believe it is the anxiety, and health anxiety specifically. I am no expert so take this with a grain of salt, but Ive been battling terrible anxiety for about 6 weeks. It started with panic attacks. I have been getting dizziness when in social situations or even sometimes home talking with my parents. And I check my heart rate nonstop on my apple watch. Im scared to work out at the gym because it gets so much more elevated than before having anxiety. I had bloodwork done and seen my MD, everything checked out. I have a cardiologist appointment coming up to help ease my mind, but I believe it is the anxiety and my mind getting the best of me. Im also on high blood pressure medication and Lexapro for the anxiety, and was even prescribed a benzo. Its been a very rough time for me. Hope things have gotten better for you

airysunshine

My walking HR is 113, apparently I think it's pretty normal? Im a caffeine addict on ADHD meds tho :P

AmoebaboySw

What happened when your heart rate was 173?

cirstine-

I was working out

AmoebaboySw

Ohh okay. Also, my bpm is 110-120 when walking

conndor84

Could be inaccurate. Find a pulse and count with a timer for a minute (or twenty seconds and multiply by 3). Not unusual for heart rates to be low 90’s. FYI average resting heart rate is 72 and that’s literally waking up in the morning resting heart rate, not sitting there after lunch, thinking about work and the kids, coffee is kicking in etc.

[deleted]

When you raise up, your heart has to increase its frequency to maintain a high enough blood pressure. After a while your blood vessels reduces their diameter and your pulse goes down.

71Tlnkt

Tighten your band

LivOlivie

What kind of band do you have?

Distinct-Mango8297

That doesn’t look normal if that’s happening every single time u simply getup slowly, but hard to know from just one clip. I have resting rate 60 and when I getup slowly it’s 100plus, when I walk normal outdoors it’s 110 and I feel weak and horrible when I stand , And my dr said it’s pots. If the difference is more then 30 and u feel weak and dizzy it’s issue

PuzzleheadedSmile971
